Beautiful and tranquil setting , absolutely serene atmosphere! Had a delicious burger 🍔 and chips 🍟 and an ice cold beer 🍻 . Highly recommended!

What a incredible place. Lodge and meals were fantastic, service was first class and the game drives were once in a lifetime. Elephants, Cape Buffalo, Warthogs, Impala, Blesbuck, Nyala, Zebra and Giraffes. Our guide Daniella, said they hadn’t seen elephants in over two weeks. Once again, thank you for a incredible visit.

We had a fantastic time at the River Lodge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Edward Merrick was excellent as our ranger and host. He got us up close to the herd of elephants. Most enjoyable game drives.

Lovely venue! Staff are well trained and help you with luggage. Could benefit from a bigger range of animals to view but still an absolutely beautiful stay in the bush just a stones throw away from EL. Our game drive was lovely - our guide proved knowledgeable and was keen to share with all of us. The rooms are large and extremely clean. Both dinner and breakfast served was excellent. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely stunning accommodation which far exceeded expectations. All of the staff are so lovely and offer the best service. The river lodge is so beautiful, wild animals and birds right on the doorstep. The game drive was so much fun. The pool is amazing. The rooms are perfect with everything provided. The dinner was a la carte and was excellent, fresh and tasty. I can highly recommend Mpongo Game Reserve for an amazing break from city life. Keep it up!

Woooow what a nice place. Great service, everything was just nice. Hubby and I booked for our anniversary, the weekend was just great and Lara the Ranger and game drive was out of this world. The food 👌🏼. Thank you all for hosting us and making our second anniversary memorable.

We stayed at Mpongo for 1 night. Blown away by the cleanliness of the accommodation, the professionalism of the staff and the quality and quantity of the food. Next time we will stay longer. Well done!!!!

The place is beautiful, however very dirty! Our Chalet was not cleaned, there was Spiderwebs every where which made sleeping very uncomfortable.Also outside someone was cutting grass and left it there😏 Game drive was exciting, Martin (I hope I got his name right) is super friendly and funny.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Lovely hosts. They took care of us without any delays.We also enjoyed the food. Due to the rain, we couldn't go for the game drive but we enjoyed the views from our bedroom. Everyone made us feel at home. We are certainly visiting again.

Magnificent authentic experience... Room, food, service... The game drives are a must. We stayed at River Lodge for a more personal experience. If you come to the Eastern Cape, add a few days at Mpongo Park to your itinerary.

We had Christmas Lunch at Mpongo Park. Extremely disappointed with the service. The flow of food refilling the buffet stations was long - I waited 30 minutes for vegetables to be restocked while the rest of my plate went cold. I had to ask multiple times for used plates to be collected from our table. The waiter took another 30 minutes to arrive for drinks, despite informing him numerous times that the table would like to order beverages. Overwhelmed or fatigued but trying would have been forgiven. The team came off as entitled, unprepared, rude. This was by far the worst experience that we've ever had at Mpongo Park. We will not be back.

My visit was a very sad one. We went to go see the hippos while we have lunch. When we arrived after a 45min drive, we were informed that there were no hippos as they had died from old age. There was also only one baby crocodile in the pen to see. Kind of felt like a zoo experience or school excursion. We at least got to see some elephants, but and warthogs from a distance which lightened the somber mood of the place. The food at the restaurant was good.

If you want a quiet place to relax and be pampered among Africa’s wildlife, Mpongo is for you! My wife and I loved it.

Staff are friendly! Food was lekka tasty! Game drive was great, we were lucky to see most of the animals. Elephant even walked right up to the lodge where we stayed.

We had lunch and a game drive. For that we were the only guests, lunch took for ever and was okay. The game drive more than made up for this. Our guide was amazing...

I am based in Cape Town, but I was working in East London and the staff made me feel at home, all smiles and fabulous service😀 Beautiful space, very peaceful and relaxed, delicious meals also😁 I am definitely going back with family❤️

I do not recommend this place at all. First all they do not allow you to drive to your accommodation to unpack your car. My mother is with a wheelchair and a walker and they wanted to try lift her up to put her on there safari backie. When we freeked and had to refuse only then did they let us drive our car to unpack it. But they first shout at you and argue with you and are so horrible. Worst check in we have ever received! The accommodation is not worth what they charging. The carpets smelled like vomit and mould. It made me feel sick having to breath this smell up. You can't open a window because there is no burglar guards or insect mesh so any animal of person can crawl through the window while you sleeping. No TV in rooms No aircon No bar fridge Linen had a bad smell The dinner they offer wasn't nice at all and definitely not worth the price they charging. Pool had no lights so you can't swim if it's dark. Definitely won't recommend this place to anyone.

Great experience and the game drive was well worth the cost Vs experience. The animal encounters were close enough to get a great view and the landscape is beautiful. I woke up one morning and found an ostrich in the car park with what looked like impala right behind it

I had a great experience at the resort even looking out of your window feels like your in the wilderness. Everyone is very accommodating, to me this is the one place I still feel like I need a whole week of experience in.

If Google allows me to give zero star I with have given it Horrendous stay 8 hour trip no good welcome n reception Shower head fell out had shower in ankle deep water Not child friendly Too far to walk with bags no help No phone No reception No tv channels Only 2 bottles water for 5 people 4 towel/ cup to share between 5 people Drive to reception to request anything Checked in at 3 30 dstv was suppose to come on in an hour Came to sort dstv at 9 30 at night when in bed

Nice Food today , but we would want to see more Animals through the window.

All the staff at the resort were wonderful, Andrew is extremely passionate about the resort, the animals as well as general upkeep of everything. He was hands on in terms of ensuring things went smoothly for a guests, a wonder to watch. He is a wonderful host. Portia is also so dedicated, ensuring that were were served on time and wonderfully. Julia (lady ranger) is such a well of knowledge and a breath of fresh air. Our ride down from reception to the River Lodge felt like a Game drive. There's a waiter who's a gentleman (forgot to take his name), that guy knows service. He is present without being overwhelmingly in ones space. He ensured that we got all we wanted timeously. The chef who made dinner on the 28th September did a wonderful job - I ate everything on that plate (even the garnish, lol). How can I forget the lady at reception who welcomed us with such a beautiful smile and a welcoming demeanor. Housekeeping was also on par, cleaned our room efficiently which further added to our beautiful stay. You have wonderful staff members who seem happy to serve everyone who comes to the resort. I surely will visit again.
