Very beautiful place, clean and peaceful, so if anyone need to just chill and take a load off, this is the place to be.

I wonder why the big notice board show that the park gate is open from 8am - 19:00 daily when only the white folks are having access to the park via the gate. These guys are soooooo priveledged having remote control access to enter or exit the gate as they wish but for us non whites we have to park our vehicles outside then enter the park through a small opening between the palisade fence. How nice to see that white priveledges still prevails in these parts of "The New South Africa" 🤮🤮🤢🤢👎👎👎this is so sickeningly glad to see we are still living backwards 🤕🤕🤕

Great place... If entrance wasn't only allowed for tennis players. Only they have gate remotes. Us mere peasants need to use the walk way entrance. Only tennis players can drive into the park.

Lovely, quiet spot for a picnic, to bring children to play on the jungle gyms, swings or slide or do a photoshoot with beautiful rows of trees. Relaxed environment where, if you go on Sundays, you can watch dogs in training from afar. It's recently been fenced in properly and has security so one can relax in peace.

Not recommended at all. Locked gates for a public access park on a Saturday, no reasons given whilst a few specific people are enjoying themselves on the premises. Unacceptable, pathetic and a complete waste of time. 👎

Park is nice but the major problem is the lack of grass cutting. Found multiple ticks due to this. Grass hasn't been cut for weeks

Peaceful and tranquility comes to mind when you are here truly a great place for running around with your family and friends

Good ! There was a like 'hobo' in the playgrond area which was not safe at all, he approched a kid, luckily thete was an adult who supervised & got rid of him.

It was great, there's a lot of places to do anything, i mean, it's a park, your little doggies , kitties and the family or friends and play sports or just chill and take pictures for aesthetics it's all alright there aren't any restrooms though:/

The park is the best park to visit in East London. Each time I visit I notice small improvements. Recently added swings for mommy and baby. Popular for photoshoots. Spacious for picnics.

James Pearce Park is nice for a family outing, and is especially popular for event outdoor photographic shoots. It has wide open spaces for play, plus the tennis courts and dog training/obedience school by the same locale. The playground for smaller kids needs a bit of work. More social consciousness is needed as litter can be quite problematic, especially after events and generally lacklustre performance for refuse pickup and disposal by the local municipality. It has a rustic charm due to number of trees along the interior lanes, and makes for nice cycling. I generally offer this as an alternative to my son instead of the beach as primary outdoor activity, especially for the cycling. I perceive it has gotten safer over the years.

Pleasant but misses any finesse... the grass is simply mowed and the garden sections are totally neglected

I've been going to this park for 13 years since I moved to East london. First impression was great but sadly the municipality has let this slip a bit...grass is not cut regularly like it used too the general upkeep isnt as great as it used to be.

Great place to take the kids. All fenced and well maintained. My favorite out of all the parks in East London when I want to get the kids outdoors. Can't drive inside and park anymore but I think that makes it safer for the kids on their bikes but makes it a long walk to the playground itself

The children had great fun playing in the park. It was neat and tidy. The grass was a little long

Lovely, vibrant park with quite a few Pokestops. There's a well-maintained playground and a road running through the park where kids love to cycle and skate. It's a popular picnic spot.

Secure. Central and safe for children to play. No need to always be looking over your shoulder to see if you are still safe. Security is at the gate when you enter too.

Loved the serenity of the park, the security check to access the park but no check as you exit and you asked yourself the reason for the check in the 1st place. The park needs regular maintenance

A great place to spend time with the kids in the park. It's a clean, safe and tranquil environment. There are now security guards stationed at the park to make sure it is peaceful and safe for everyone.

It is always nice to be there.

They’ve done a great job of cleaning up and securing the park. Much safer place to take the family now. Decent kids area, lots of space to run, ride bikes, and they’ve also added a small outdoor gym area
