Today was my second visit to the restaurant. My first visit was weekday evening, at the bar side of the establishment but today I went for a weekday lunch at the restaurant side. The menu is the same so, you get to have the food whichever side you sit in. Both times it was not very busy. The food here has been amazing both times. Their serving sizes are very generous. The staff was friendly and attentive both times. I will certainly be back and would recommend it to anyone - for solo, couple or group dining.

Amazing spot and the food was exceptional. Well priced for the quality and was a very good steak. Potato skin starter was also a winner. Thanks for the great experience and would highly recommend. Is the best restaurant in EL, hidden gem.

A perfect ambience with good music, delicious food and a friendly staff. I love to be here and recommend it to everybody who‘s visiting the City. Also the bar one floor higher is nice to be and get something to drink.

We were very impressed with this restaurant. It's not big, but they are big on excellent service and great food! There is such a wide variety of side dishes to choose from and their steak is done to perfection. Love the atmosphere ... it is definitely worth visiting The Cow and Milk Shed.

Super friendly staff, very clean and neat. The pizza is not what you would expect but great. The most amazing method of ensuring social distancing (see photos). The music is fantastic and just at the right volume level. 10/10 would go again.

I arrived at the restaurant and was served immediately with friendly staff. There wasn't that many seats available so booking in advance might be needed if you plan on coming in a group or more than 2 people. I ordered a Salted Caramel Milkshake, and a Beef and Reef. The milkshake was one of the best I've had, it had a nice sweet and creamy taste, without being to overpowering on sweetness. And when it came to my meal, the steak was exactly medium as ordered, the shrimp was deveined and had a nice butter taste. It's just my preference but the onion rings and chips, I would have preferred crisper. Overall it was a nice experience, just due to personal preference I gave it a 4/5.

Absolutely loved the food! A simple menu with something for everyone and a few extra treats. You could taste the food was made from scratch and that a lot of time and thought had been put into it. 10/10 will be visiting again!

Great service! We got disappointed by their neighbours so we opted for them because we were in the area and boy, what a service. Really enjoyed their food, and the environment altogether. I'll definitely go back to try their gourmet burgers.

We had my dad's 70th birthday supper last night. What an awesome place to have had it . Atmosphere was amazing, food was awesome and the staff were friendly and accommodative. We had a great meal. 1x bacon, egg and cheese burger and 1x beef and reef platter - both highly recommended. Slight speedbump on arrival when waiter Ruan accused us of "putting the phone down on him" when he had called to see if we were still coming for our 6pm reservation (we hadn't received a call) even though we had just arrived at 6:12pm and the restaurant was still practically empty. At least the food removed that initial bad taste.....

It is quiet a lovely and intimate place. The interior decor is quiet lovely and the setting is nice. I was very happy with the customer service and the food was delicious. I'm definitely going back❣

This gem in the heart of a city that is falling apart around it, is a must for anyone that appreciates the beauty of fine dining in a traditional fashion. Trying multiple dishes over a few nights and being surprised about the intricate choices of tastes that plays a simphony on your taste buds that will even make Mozart cry. This small family run restaurant surely knows what is important and how to make a person miss them when you are not in town. I meant to write this review a good couple of weeks ago and never got around to it. However after a few weeks I still cannot get over the absolutely remarkable service I received at the Cow and Milk Shed. Myself and my Fiancé got there a half an hour before their opening time without knowing what hours they trade, but regardless the friendly gentleman opened for us and organized a waiter to attend to us. Even though their kitchen wasn't quite ready to attend to customers our food still came out quite fast. Their food was absolutely delicious, and something I now often crave for. The waitress that served us was polite, happy and attentive. Well done guys!!! You guys will defiantly be seeing me again soon!!!

An exceptionally disappointing experience for amazingly disproportionate prices for nothing more than an over rated bar meal. The most disappointing and expensive meal with virtually no flavour, with service that was almost non existent. Do not waste your time or money on this venue.

I travel to East London on business and this is one if the restaurants I like to visit each time. Always busy, good service and fairly priced. Im in the fuel security business so when I noticed the DIESEL sauce I had to try it. It a creamy Jalapeño sauce milder than a green pepper sauce that was disappointing as it was vet mild. Steak was average and fat was very grisly. Friendly Staff and Good Service

We went to The Cow Shed on a Friday night for a group dinner, and we were welcomed by very friendly staff. They accommodated our group with a tablet even when we forgot to book, and their place was busy. The staff were very friendly, knowledgably and accommodating. And the drinks and the food were amazing. Our steaks were cooked to our liking, the burgers were some of the best one out there, and the portions are spot on! We highly recommend this restaurant and would go back again

only opens at 12 in the morning. missing out on breakfast. food was perfect. just portion size on the small side for me personally. other then that lovely place to have lunch and supper and cosy romantic dinner.
