The rooms are filthy. The carpets definitely haven't been cleaned in years. The bathroom was the worst of it ,the bin even had yellow drip marks. So disgusting. The waitresses are not professional, it takes 100 years before you get service . The buffet was extremely underwhelming. The hotel isn't secure, they have zero measures in place. People can walk in, straight into the lift and onto any floor without authentication, CRAZY! the only thing I liked is the gym , well equipped but not staying here ever again.

It's a 4 star for me. I had an incident there and I think they can do better. First the balcony door didn't want to open and then a thief posing as though he worked there but was off duty, well he decided to put his broken down cell phone in my pouch and left with mine. I just think they can beef up on their security measures that's all. They however managed to assist but in future there has to be more done to prevent such insidents.

Franchise costs is what it is, unfortunately the hotel is dated and in need of upgrades to justify R2200+ per night. Very limited room amenities - a small kettle and powder instant coffee, no shampoo or conditioners. Room size is decent, just don't expect a great ocean view even upon prior request. Everything clean though. Air-conditioning and safe in my room was completely out of order. Breakfast is okay.

Breakfast quality has dropped badly and the establishment blame COVID-19 whereas other Tsogo Sun outlets like GCPE have kept the quality standards

Hey My People, I am a happy customer or client. Thank you to the reservation guys Vuyo and Sandy, I was really hoping to see them the time I was there but there is always a next time. The guys at the reception, you are amazing. There is a lady whose name is Amanda, not sure if I am calling it right, apparently she is a supervisor there, but all I want to say is that keep up he good work Madam, having smile when you serve someone is the best thing ever. I have been observing you. To the team as a whole, The success of Garden Court EL and also Southern sun entirely depends on you. The future of the company depends on you. So far you are on the ball. Looking forward to my next booking with you. Keep up the good work.

I gave a star rating as that was the lowest possible rating to give, I am not sure where to start, long story short they are not client centric, I haven't received the warmest of welcome since my arrival and to cap it all I placed an order for food to be sent to my at 19h00, I had to enquire with reception at 20h00 about my supper to only receive it at 20h23. This place has hotel nightmare vibes and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Your money Wil be best spent elsewhere.

Still a great little hotel, well located just 100m from the sea and next to well known landmarks, such as the windmill roadhouse. Bathrooms need an upgrade but the rooms are large and very comfortable. WiFi is good. The food is good but the breakfast buffet could do with a little improvement. Staff are friendly and helpful. As far as East London is concerned this hotel is highly recommended.

When booking, request a sea view room or else you'll have a wonderful view of the parking. Meals costs are quite a bit on the costly side as compared to inheritance Garden Court's. It was a good stay, nonetheless.

A lovely hotel. Friendly staff. I enjoy my stays there. Pity all the rooms doesn't look out to the sea considering it's location on the promenade.

Staff is very efficient and informative right from the security at the gate, reception, dining room and general cleaners. Scrumptious food with waiters who is having good interpersonal relations. Rooms are beautiful and homely. Had a wonderful stay.

Standard rooms quite large with all the facilities one might possible need. Very stunning, and properly serviced. Both the breakfast and dinner buffet were simply amazing. I had a great time!

Beautiful views. However, bedding smells moldy and carpets smell dusty. The cleaning staff are busy until late at night and scream loudly at one another while cleaning rooms. The wall plugs, door locks and other things needs some replacement or service. No

That Hotel is ok. My issues are the showers in the bath, you get the same buffet menu all the time and I move between three rooms because the aircon wouldn't work or won't heat up the rooms. The hotel needs totaly new interior designs and also I suggest that the management should ask the municipality to remove the little sand dunes vegetation that obscure the ocean view.

I have only been here 30 minutes but can already tell I should not expect anything. Takes 10 minutes to be attended for check in during the first hour of check in being open? Get to my room only to find my key is not coded? After calling with a simple request to have a coded key brought up, they decide they will do it their own way with zero apology. So more waiting…. Getting into my room only to discover that room service is not offered during the day, like what!!?? Best I take the poor food reviews seriously and sort myself out from outside. It must be a prank.

Dinner was limited to rice, mash mixed, veg, stew and wings. Dish big plate with too much starch scary. 2nd the room had small roaches I couldn't believe please furmigate.

It's a hotel that offers great service. The place is very well located next to the beach and transport systems, restaurants and grocery shops.

Good service but a guest need bottled water in the room, that is a guest courtesy.

My partner was booked in for 12 days. First room had water dripping from the aircon. Moved to another room. On the 5th day, the aircon kept tripping. Reported it several times. We were offered another room, but that didn't happen either. Impossible to sleep with the door open, as it is a lousy neighbourhood and very noisy. Definitely won't be coming back. Garden Court falling to pieces.

The hotel is beautiful, rooms spacious and comfortable and the view outside from the room is amazing. I took away a star bcoz the food took too long to come, we asked to dine in our rooms and it took forever to we had to go and collect, but other than that the experience was wonderful

  • 2/5 Dean M. 2 years ago on Google
Hotel service was poor, breakfast service poor ( waited 10 min for a poached egg and beans lying on the floor not cleaned up until requested). Did not feel safe walking in the area surrounding the hotel, when searching for a restaurant.

I was a little disappointed that when I got to my room there was only a bath lotion, had to go to the front to ask for other necessities like shampoo and lotion. The place had a little less vibe than I expected. The check-in process is a pain, I tell you.

  • 3/5 Nombasa M. 2 years ago on Google
The cleanliness is on spot and the rooms are inviting. Attention to catering and the staff needs to be looked at. Customer service training will be vital otherwise big ups to housekeeping. Conferences also needs to check up once in a while

It was mid . The breakfast could improve and they could add more lights inside the rooms . They have a sort of a deep pool but no lifeguard , i don't know what's that about . But none the less it was an okay experience πŸ‘Œ

We had an absolute best stay ever. A warm welcome, smooth and swift check-in. The room was clean and spacious and the kids also loved their room. The breakfast was amazing. The views are breathtaking. Thank you so much for the amazing stay,

Rooms appear 'overcrowded' and noisy. The hotel staff, especially reception are very helpful and courteous. The security employed are the worst. The food is awful, with the exception of breakfast. Stay here only if you cannot find alternate accommodation.

Not my first time to be here and it gets worse ! Got the suite room ,pathetic is an understatement. The lady at reception who checked me in should not be in that job..She was rude, checked me in after making me wait for 3 hours(fair skinned lady with dreadlocks). You could swear they don’t want anyone to stay in that hotel.Paid so much money for nonsense service ,was meant to stay a week ..cancelled and moved to a better boutique hotel and paid almost half the price of that suite room! Restaurant service was appalling!Food served cold ..Guys pls avoid this hotel !I will never recommend it to anyone !

I tried 3 different rooms, were not properly cleaned, I upgraded to a suite but toilet not flushing, cistern not properly mounted on the wall being in the verge of falling. I cancelled and moved to a nearby hotel.

The most disappointing thing was the absolutely filthy curtains in the room I stayed in. Also found a cockroach in the room. Overall standard seems to be deteriorating over time.

By the Ocean/Sea View. Next to Windmill Resturant with a grocery store and Clean small Bus Terminals for Greyhound etc. Next Spar grocery Store and with pool, dining and conferencing areas, has a perfect working WiFi. Cleans rooms and well established room designs. Huge parking area. 2 minutes away from the sea shore or Orient Theatre and other Hotels and restaurants. 8 Minutes away from CBD and Next to Surburbs. This place is beautiful and nice for individual booking, friends and Family. Breakfast is so nice and Buffet. Supper is nice but they need to improve. They allow walk it's for Dinner and breakfast and you can use your Tsogo Sun points to pay for your dining and Bev and you can also pay cash.

Great location but the rooms need better upkeep. My colleague had roaches in her room and before I knew it I had one roach lingering as well fumigation is needed here!!! The food though was amazing the chef really knows his story and is passionate!

Stains on the bedding instead of replacing it was just flipped over. The bathroom was dingy and smelled bad because the fan extractor wasn't working. Very old bathroom with bath tub shower. Booked double room for 2 adults and 2 kids but bathroom had only 2 towels. Reception took forever to check us in. Wouldn't not recommend

On the 3de and 4th of January 2023 we had the pleasure of staying at the Garden Court hotel in East London. Excellent service, professional pleasant staff, a super clean and neat room, delicious room service with vegan and vegetarian options and an awesome full buffet breakfast with a large variety of delucious options. The beach is across from the hotel. We enjoyed looking at the beautiful seaview from our room and swimming in hotel's sparkling pool. The hotel provides soft clean towels for swimming. I highly recommend this hotel and it's lovely staff.

Comfortable stay as always but the condition of the hotel is going backwards every year. The Covid stay wasn’t any different. Aircon didn’t work and had to move rooms. Bathrooms are old and worn and needs an upgrade badly. Garden is dirty and full of rubbish. The breakfast offering during Covid was the worst we experience during our travels. Very Limited.

Excellent service and very accommodating. We were all the way from Durban and didn't have a booking. Njabulo welcomed us pleasantly on 19 December 2020 and checked us in without any hassles as we were turned down by other hotels due to no booking made. Our stay was fantastic, staff were friendly and the breakfast was great.

There was only 1 receptionist when checking in considering that it was month - end and a long queue. This place is always noisy especially on weekends. Visitors party in the parking lot and play loud music so other guests are disturbed. Noisy parties in the rooms too until early hours of the morning. I ordered water and an iron in evening after checking in but it never arrived. Place needs a revamp.

The friendlies, the excellent service and the spectacular neatness of the Hotel. The fact that the institution observe Covid 19 protocols. Unfortunately, although it is law, checking in and mealtime routine takes very long, especially after driving for long periods and a hard day's work..one just want to check in ASAP. If more reception staff during peak hours could be available......i usually come to conferences and meetings ending very late, I only got to ny room at 20h00 after queuing for about an hour. We waited for almost 45minutes during breakfast. I suggest you have an additional official just to assist with making omelettes...i just wanted 2 sunny side up eggs. Otherwise, i don't have any complains on your routine. Keep up the good work.
