My experience at Hathaway House was the best part of my weekend in East London , I did not want to leave . Thank you for the beautiful rooms you offered to us to lay our hats down . In today's world we do not find the honest , friendly and bubbly personalities that you have .I thought i lost my ring which has much sentimental value to me and because of your honest kindness i have it back on my finger today . Every call I made , there was a very concerned and caring voice on the other side which in turn relaxed to the extent that i did not have to stress about not getting my ring back at all . Words cannot help me express how grateful I am , all i know is that i will definitely be calling you up for accommodating in the future and will always refer you to other clients . Thank you from a very happy and satisfied customer .

I recently stayed at this Guest House and had a mixed experience. The staff were very friendly and professional, with special mention for Sinazo who was polite and highly competent. The management was also accommodating and provided an addition to our menu upon request, despite it not being included in our package. Adequate parking and easy access were definite pluses. The rooms were spacious, but unfortunately, there was no backup power during load-shedding. However, portable rechargeable bulbs were later provided. My room, Ascot, had an issue with the position of the toilet seat, making it uncomfortable to use. Meal options were limited, especially for non-pork and red-meat eaters.

The Manager misrepresented what she quoted for. We were given alternate accommodation to what was quoted & invoiced. The kitchen was disgusting & we had to call staff to clean what they could. When we reported this to the Manager she became defensive & asked that we leave 😒

The place was awesome. Comfortable bed and stunning sea view and near golf course. Breakfast was spectacular and staff was very friendly and helpful!

My cousins and I we had the best service ever ..we spent ..Saturday and the breakfast was the best .. Staff are friendly..the rooms are clean and nice...We will def come back..Check out their menu too...

Hygiene standards not good...poor foodsafety standards. Ordered platters. Food was served in a badbly stained chipped platter plate. Tomatoes holder was also badly chipped. Bathroom hand basin had moild growth on outlet. Loud music from pool throughout night untill past 6 next morning. Beautiful place though but not well managed

Excellent value for money. Stunning room with underfloor heating, very comfortable bed and a bath and big shower. Great full breakfast included in the room price 👌🏽

I was not happy at all. We booked at the main place but was taken to another brunch. Paid R1800 for 2 nights for a room that only had a single bed n a wardrobe only. Shower was shared on the corridor. It was not a great experience at all. Some we had to share single bed rooms but we both paid R1800 each.

Allocated a room (Windsor) on arrival which was lovely. The next day arrived back from a morning outing to find all our luggage had been shifted to another room (Canterbury) without our permission and any notification. This was disgusting, dirty, burn marks in the carpet, poorly maintained and in terms of Health & Safety standards so many hazards it would be declared totally non compliant. I would not recommend this Guesthouse ever.

It was a great experience. Loved the architecture of the old European village hall style. Friendly and helpful owner. The rooms were of a high standard. Would recommend it to anyone going to East London, South Africa.

Beautiful B&B, friendly staff and they have a really nice personal touch, you aren't just another guest. Staff are always open to suggestions and looking to improve the overall experience for guests. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
