Food was fantastic! Both times we ate there we were impressed! Breakfast this morning was delicious with a wide variety. Best place to eat in Gonubie!

*THIS IS ABOUT THE RESTAURANT* Service was slow Food was cold, burnt and took forever to get to our table Hair in Food and took it out to pretend that it was our fault Got orders mixed up with other tables and waiter told us information we did not need, forgot our order as well They deserve less than 1 star

This place deserves no stars from me. On arrival i was dissatisfied as the place is not what it looks like online. Its old and dusty. The old carpets is not hygienic. The rooms is below average. My room had no towels, soap nothing. The bathroom floor is tiled. I too a shower , slipped as i got out and pulled my groin muscle I cant walk properly and now need to take care of this injury for the next few weeks. There is no mats or non slip towels to put on the floor. I was so furious as i am traveling for business and now cant move around as i should. I told the manager as i left he just turned around and said nothing. I told him that’s exactly why i did not make a scene when it happened cause i felt that there is a never mind approach to client services here. Don't talk about the dinning room. It looks like an old government facility with old chairs and that old matt smell. I did not dare to eat or drink anything from Gonubie hotel. Gonubie is such a nice place however this hotel just putt a damper on my whole experience. This hotel has alot to do to understand customer service and experience. Sad sad situation, i will never recommend or return to this place.

What a splendid view!!! Pity , The hotel DOES NOT adhere to the Anti Tobacco Smoking laws!!! Non-smokers rights must be protected and as custodians of the establishment it is the duty to manage same!

You won't go wrong with the seafood basket. Their pizzas are great too. Burgers also tried and loved! Stunning beach view. Excellent service. Staff are friendly and professional. Prices are great too.

The best sea view from your windows and the sound of the waves coming through the windows all the time is great. There is a bar and restaurant on the ground floor and we had a good buffet breakfast. The boardwalk and popular Gonubie beach is a few steps away.

Where friends meet, food is excellent. Great atmosphere although drink are on the pricy side

5 time in a row the atm with in the bar area runs out of cash and the the remarks are go draw els were, they never have enough ash trays to accommodate all the paying customers, sorry but it's bad service even with management sitting there and not even interested in helping. Will not see me again. Let me guess " thanks for bringing it to my attention and this will never happen again "

Not worthy of 3 stars. Horrible stay wont advise people to stay here. Very poorly maintained ,not the best at breakfast`s, wont see me again. only positive is some of the staff are friendly manager didn't really want to know of the issues.

Honestly really bad service at the restaurant. My server was rude and lazy. Really dissapointed with her attitude and attentiveness. I had to go and fetch her myself to place an order after being told she'd be back in 5 minutes. And its not like she was busy, we were her only table. Herr attitude was quite gross. She clicked her tongue, rolled her eyes and walked like her grandmother had passed away. Extremely unprofessional. Yet the other waitresses I see are on top of it, checking all the tables. Seriously dissapointing

My spot whenever I am in East London. Staff are exceptionally welcoming and loving always attend to your every request as best as they can. Gia, Nikki, Xolie and the kitchen staff are amazing. Thank you and God bless you all.

Terrible restaurant experience. Waited for an hour before our food arrived. Waitress was friendly, unlike the manager. Food and dining experience doesn't justify the prices.

Hi...my wife and I were tourists to your City aad stayed over at the Gonubie Hotel. Upon visiting the bar/restaurant we had to wait for 30 minutes for service from the waiters who seemingly only served white people during this 30 minutes I was waiting. I lodged a complaint and I really want to commend the manager for his intervention to make our visit to the restaurant a memorable one afterwards. Thanx Zolani Great service from u. Old old rooms paint chips of and no hair driers no washing machine the bar doesn't close till very late and the walls are very thin so if I are looking for peaceful rest look somewhere els

It's a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming decor. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

We walked in for lunch around 14h00 on 31st December 2021. Whatever you do, don't order the mussel pot or the escargot. These two stars are for Zolani who tried to remedy the situation when my husband asked to speak to the manager. They had a live band preparing to perform, maybe that would have sweetened our experience but, as it stands I certainly have no plans of returning to this establishment.

If you want to enjoy your day. This hotel is got it all. Food is great and so are the rest of the hotel.

Although the establishment kinda redeemed itself whith regards to food quality, a lot of work still needs to be done concerning customer care and presentation of staff. The kitchen manager should just have a hospitality qualification to ensure health and cleanliness amongst other things, we all got tummy problems after. Kitchen manager to be someone who will not shout guests because wow! The disrespect and tantrums thrown by the guy !!! even insulting the client! Get to know procurement processes please . If doing conferencing provide alternative water (sparkling). For beverage have better options like juice (minute maid, grapetiser etc)instead of fizzy drinks. The level of racism I eitnesed at your bar towards those black youths was shocking. The language and verbal abuse I witnessed really was out of line!!! "Go back where you come from", really!!!!? The last straw was when an old big white man hit a young black lady on duty. Great potential and location but jha! Get help. Offer inservice training to hospitality students both cleaners and cooks atleast even to ensure good service and food quality.

Nice chilled place, where you can enjoy a refreshment and food, while indulging on beautiful sea views.

for the price you pay you would expect there to be towels in the room and when there is tea/coffee and mugs provided why on earth would there not be a kettle. very disappointing stay at this place
