Nice gym, neat and spacious with a big heated pool and a Kauai inside. They also have a small sauna and steam room on site with a huge workout studio for classes and dedicated spinning cycle area. Friendly staff and nice views of the ocean as well.

Photo sensitive person or someone who suffers from seizures should never go there especially when it's dark. I complained about the issue to the staff, I was told it's not their problem. Virgin active just doesn't seem to be mindful of customers well being unless it's money.

This branch should sadly just close down. Bad part of town. Nothing works. Half the cardio equipment out of order, steam room and sauna out of order. Kauai chained up and closed.

Great facilities, beachfront has a kiddies area, kuai, class instructors are good...just unfortunately gets affected by loadshedding so check schedule before going, especially if intend on using electric machine...

The view, the refreshing breeze from the beach. They could have not chosen a better position for the outlet, it is in the thick of things. Few meters to the beach, hotels and food outlets. This VA is similar to other VA's and not much of difference. Awesome place to be at and steam off your stress on weights or cardio machines.

Well priced and decent equipment. Lots of classes for peak clients, less for off peak clients. Friendly staff and kauai for shakes and healthy snacks. Heated 25m pool

I am a member of Virgin active health club with a national entry card. The club in East London disappointed. The swimingpool had sand on the bottom with debris. Although the water was clear and clean the bottom of the pool was dirty. The sauna was the coldest I ever used in the country with a temperature of 50°c. When I wanted to bring this to the attention of the manager, the manager did not even bother to see me but send one of the staff members to tell me to fill in a complaint form. I did not do it because I believe nothing will come of it and thought the internet might be a more powerful platform to complain. Country-wide virgin active health club keeps a good standard unfortunately I did not get the same impression from East London...

Unfriendly reception

The gym is good but the boxing classes were a joke if I've ever seen any. Won't recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to box properly.

The place is great. The Sauna and Electricity are a bit of a problem. Lovely Jim place though, very helpful Staff.

Love the classes, sauna and steam room. Pool not always warm. Friendly manager. Some Club V staff are not capable of looking after kids. Nasty.

A gym with not the best reputation. They still have the old card scanners and not the scanners that will allow u to digitally scan ur card like all other virgin active branches. There are only 2 free benches in the entire gym. Both benches are unbalanced/unstable. Free weights feel like the weight plates will come loose. There is hardly any lighting during loadshedding, which makes it dangerous around the weight section The cardio section is good as everything works on that side. But this gym needs heavy maintenance and upgrades.

I have decided to join a group of people who are focused on transforming their lives through fitness programmes. Thanks to Anda for a great customer service. The view of the beautiful East London beachfront is an added benefit.

An okay gym to sign up with. Most of their treadmills are broken and their system for signing in and out is almost always offline or glitching. Their app doesn’t work. Even the app for rewards doesn’t seem to clock in your attendance

What a pathetic place... I went to buy food at Kauai and asked the Virgin Active receptionist "Aviwe" if i could please use their toilet, she refused to let me in, because only "members" are allowed access. This is ridiculous, as there are no restrooms available for Kauai customers...

Friendly service, well equipped gym.

Everybody is friendly here including the staff you get fitness training to the training instructors here for free.

Quite impressed with how Virgin Active Beacon Bay is abiding by the regulations of Covid-19 Level 1. Social distancing is observed,sanitizer is available. They have gone as far as creating a drop-off area in the weights section for the members to drop off the used equipment to be cleaned and put back at their respective places.

Nice experience

This gym is situated at the best location in East London. Most of the staff there are really welcoming. I just wish that they could upgrade the equipment. They tried with the cardio machines but the rest of the other equipment is rusty brakes all the time. There is always more machines not working. Without this challenges, this is the right place to go for health and fitness. Gym upstairs and enjoy a smoothie downstairs after your session.

Highly disappointed. Felt like a smoothie from Kauai through my discovery rewards. Couldnt access the mini restuarant because I'm not a virgin active member. So I stood by the reception like a lost child waiting for her mother and was served like that. Surely there is a pass just to access the restaurant.
