Loved this beach. I think it's the best one in East London. The boardwalk is amazing and then if you turn around the corner you find yourself at this private little area that reminds me of the Thailand beaches. So stunning and not to overcrowded. Stunning views and beautiful ocean 🏖️

My favorite beach around East London. It's quiet suitable for beachgoers who don't like crowded places. I like the side of the river especially at sunset. The toilets on the other hand can do with a bit of renovation. Also watch out for the dogs, some beach goers will brings dogs, at one time a lady brought a dog that chases everyone who was running or kicking the ball.

Love Gonubie, just unfortunate that the residents have to cut the grass and do the cleaning. Where our life guards don't have clothing, a decent first aid box or two way radios. But Gonubie is an amazing place.

Was a really great beach, with really nice swimming area, great and friendly lifeguards, and a nice open area to walk along the side of the river. But after that sewage spill... The beach has been closed for so long now after that, with it being really unhealthy and dangerous to go there... It's really bad and shocking how little the municipality cares about environmental safety... The musselcracker that's situated there is sitting in a really nice and strategic place, and they have really great food, especially the breakfast

The water is shallow and therefore is safe for those who can't swim and children and there's the river too with calm waters

Looks like it did 30 years ago and I guess it will look the same is 30 more, which is great. Easy safe swimming beach. Easy walk. River lagoon area nice to wet your feet.

My kids enjoyed themselves so much, playing on the sand, running into the sea, building a lynx in the sand

The best beach by far. No crowds, scenery like you are in a luxurious holiday destination and secure parking.

Very quiet and peaceful. Wouldn't recommend swimmers to go swim though. We met a lifeguard there and he said they can't help anyone from drowning during this pandemic. If you want to swim, wait for the government to declare beachs safe and open.

Loved the newly renovated Board Walk. There are few spots that are not fall proof, children may need to be accompanied by an adult when walking on the board-walk.
