Had a bit of an encounter with race issues but it was with a guest. Staff members were amazing, went out of their way to make me feel comfortable.

Olivewood is a very nice and quiet place situated a little outside of Chintsa. The service and food there are outstanding and friendly. I also recommend it as a resort/hotel. Very great service and place to go for a Sunday lunch/chillas. The rooms are very elegant and comfortable. And they also have a golf course. There are animals that graze around and it gives mother nature vibes Very nice and elegant place 👌

The rooms are beautiful,and the overall place.The food was bad,super and breakfast were a disaster,it was not my first time being there and i have expirienced such,i dont know whether they changed chefs

We spent an awesome new years here with a chilled picnic listening to live music on the lawns. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, dinner and breakfast delicious… I also appreciate that they catered for us as vegetarian… definitely would visit here again

Very well designed, beautifully decorated, good food, good service and friendly staff. The hotel rooms are very comfortable, have aircon and all the amenities you would want, even an outdoor shower! But the experience of checking in, getting in and out and staying here as a paying customer was very strict. To get in and out is a real process. It does affect the customer experience here.

A lovely remote location in the Eastern Cape, perfect for large yet intimate events. From the well manicured lawns to the tastful restaurants and sports bar...the place is great for a relaxed getaway. One of the team leads was a little stern with the learners that were curious about the golf carts, so please don't touch those unless you have a booking to use them. The place only shares individual wifi codes subject to arrangements with the hosts, otherwise day guests generally don't get the wifi codes. There are plenty photographic spots but, the nooks near the restaurant weren't cleared up after people had smoked and eaten there. Overall great atmosphere and perfect scenery with a few wild animals roaming to add to that magical feel.

was looking forward to being at Olivewood but lock downs deterred our plans. Finally went down on long weekend in September. Tranquil place. rooms were spacious and had modern finishes. Appreciate Ziyanda and hospitality team out of this world. Breakfast was on point. Was worth the wait. Cant wait for go back to unwind and switch off and recharge.

A beautiful gem in the middle of the Eastern Cape. Everything about this place is beautiful. The outdoor shower is the ultimate bonus. It’s the perfect gateway if you like a weekend of good food, golf and some R&R!

Beautiful, tastefully luxurious setting. Catering for our wedding was quite good; courteous staff. The facility would benefit from a walking path for those who are not golfing.

A very clean, elegant place to stay. Rooms are comfortable. Interesting is the very private “outdoor shower” … such a nice experience. The garden areas are stunning and well maintained. Spacious areas and very relaxing to be here. Continental breakfast is included. Golfers will love this place … the course is excellent, we are told.

Very disappointing treatment received at Olivewood! I made a reservation by using the Olivewood online booking service, upon arrival the staff explained that there is currently a private function and that they can not honour my online booking. Eventually the events manager allowed for us to enter. The front desk staff member was not welcoming at all and it created an impression that we are invading. This left a very bitter taste in the mouth and a feeling of unwelcome. After seeing the great reviews and recommendations I was sure that we would have had a lovely first time experience, but sadly disappointed.

Breakfast was good. Steak knives as cutlery. Bit difficult to butter toast with steak knife. No offer of Worcestershire sauce or waitron to check on us mid meal. Disappointed in that there were no fresh flowers anywhere. Difficult to identify the heart of the establishment.

Family and I went to Olivewood for lunch and were we amazed by how amazing the food was. The butternut soup was so delicious and had great flavours. The steak burger suprised it looked and tasted amazing, it was juicy and had great flavours also came with amazing onion rings. The ribeye steak was so delicious and came with delicious hand cut chips.

We had our wedding here on 01/04/23. Also booked our accommodation within the premises. Some of our guests also booked here as we all travelled from different provinces. Overall, the service was superb: friendly staff, the rooms, restaurants, turnaround time, etc. Our guests were also impressed with the food quality as well as the the venue in general. The only thing that requires a bit of improvement is the admin around accommodation check-in or check-out, particularly when such events take place as the process got a bit frustrating at times. When Jacqueline is not available, someone else needs to be readily available to give direction or even provide necessary information.

What a gem! I did not expect such a golf course in this area. First time I had played golf there and I will definitely be back.

Everything about the place was beautiful with amazing views. Just don’t hold your breath for the picnic, it was nothing like what we saw on the pictures, the picnic snacks and overall presentation was awful.

Good food, great setting, unfortunately lack of investment into waitron training is purely evident. Complete lack of understanding the menu, not able to answer any questions in respect of the menu, waited roughly 10 mins. for cutlery after the food had been served, tables nearby had not been cleared, for entire sitting, roughly 1 hour, , rather sad as there had not been a cent spared on infrastructure, aesthetics, quality of food. Club manager did nothing to save the situation, not even a simple apology however did offer to relay my concerns to the head manager. Hopefully he/she reads this post and start seriously focusing energy into staff training e.g. products, language, emotional intelligence etc. What was meant to be a great outing with family, turned into an event with frustration and disappointment, :-(

Absolutely stunning spot! I was here for a wedding and had a lovely stay - staff were friendly, service was great, rooms were excellent and food was top quality. Excellent value for money!

Preferential treatment - completely shocking. Popped into Olivewood restaurant today for a cocktail (which we communicated to waitress). I have been to restaurant before and enjoyed the signature style cocktails hence wanted to take my guests to try. The restaurant was completely empty and were told we could only sit on the couch (which is like a waiting area) and not have a table (even though multiple were available). Clearly not all are welcome to Olivewood! Shocking.

An awesome hotel, with great facilities. The hotel room was large, with modern finishes and nice views. The food was great. Only thing to watch out for is the road getting to the venue

First time to play on this special coastal golf course. Challenging and a bit windy. Nice company as well.

It is a beautiful estate and we really enjoyed our meal there. The only thing is that the waiters appear untrained, got our order wrong and struggled slightly with English.

Lovely venue. You have to be on your game or expect to lose some golf balls. The greens are spectacular as well as the scenery.

Food and experience at Governors House restaurant a total disaster!!! Ask to speak to a manager but she “apparently” already left for home…( @14:15 ???!)Will definitely not recommend to my worst enemy! Served something that was apparently supposed to be lemon butter oil but it smelled like very old fish-oil…Fish not even served with fresh lemon…??Never again!!!!

I've been here twice and I would go again and again. It is peaceful. The food is amazing. There's room service. The staff is nice and friendly and go far and beyond to give you the best stay and service. There's a spa and a bar and inside restaurant and golf estate

Absolutely unbelievable golf course. The entire experience was awesome with stunning views and really challenging course layout. Olivewood combines a day of golf with a nature drive experience with game animals at almost every hole. I will definitely be back.
