Such a beautiful piece of nature right in the middle of East London. There are boardwalks, bird hides and forest walks. The reserve is well maintained and the walks are easy with picnic tables, benches and bins dotted along the way. There are plenty of birds to see as well as the occasional buck and dassie.

Heaven on 🌍. Hidden in the heart of the city. So tranquil and peaceful, you forget yourself and become one with Mother Nature. Perfect place to spend with family and friends and meditate

Seems a shame that what looks like a lovely nature trail is only open during work hours..ie: you cannot walk it at the weekend or on public holidays??? There must be a reason but I fail tosee it.

This inner city nature reserve provides excellent birding, hiking and exploring throughout the indigenous forest or along the river bank.

Closes at 4pm and not open on weekends and public holidays. My guess is that they do not want to have big crowds of people. Possibly to preserve the ecosystem. At least stay open till 6pm πŸ˜‡

Our special place in the centre of East London. Pure peace and a sanctuary for the environment, animal, bird and plant life that is encouraged to thrive there. A WONDERFUL gem of an assett to nature loving environmentally aware visitors to this special place. It restores my soul .

It was beautiful there even though the recent rain made the paths a bit muddy but the scenery is great and the wild life amazing. It is great to be out in nature

What disappoint, we all know it is covid and know one close there bathroom for visitors and it is school holidays, if you follow covid protocol it will no be a problem for guest to use the bathroom, but the onky answer we got from a white man was go to the garage or go home and he turnd a way, that is great and that from a white person, all the way from Gauteng and that is how you treat visitors, will be sure to ket a know how his attitude was

πŸ‘πŸ‘ This trail is perfect for families as it’s fairly short and with little elevation change. The trail follows different paths through the forest to the river and the surrounding mangroves.
