I've always had a fear of going anywhere other than Walgreens or CVS for a COVID test due to the idea of someone else administering the test, but due to needing an appointment ASAP, I came here. The nurse who performed my rapid test was amazing and very considerate of my deviated septum. (I’d give you 5 stars if I could!!) She did the test very slowly, told me if I was in any pain to let her know. She even put a note within my profile of which side my deviated septum is on and noted to go slow and gentle due to me having had multiple surgeries related to my nose for any future administers. Then this is where I’ve had one of my worst medical experiences. The doctor comes in and reads off my rapid result and suggests that I also get a lab test due to being exposed to someone with Covid. She also looked at my profile during this. I of course agreed and the doctor, I believe her name was Pamela, quickly set up the test. She immediately goes for my nostril that has the deviated septum and due to physically not being able to get the swab in, she switches to the other side very forcefully instead of stopping to ask about my obvious deviated septum. She pushed the swab in very hard that I unintentionally yelled in pain while I attempted to move her hand away from my nose, yet she still continued to hold her hand with the swab against my grip. I was in excruciating pain for the first hour and had to take pain medication and still felt it the next day. The only reaction from the doctor was a very insincere“sorry.” This was the worst covid test I’ve ever experienced and is the epitome of what I’ve always tried to avoid being a person with a deviated septum. Hope no one else has to experience this. Horrible doctor

If there was a (0) zero they definitely earned it. The wait was ridiculous with no one in the lobby and the staff shooting the breeze at 11:45. The male receptionist was on the phone and didn't even acknowledge me or the elderly couple that walked in a few minutes after me. I'm finally seen to not be given an antibiotic for my aliments. I told the physician I need a zpack or antibiotics and he gives me cough suppressant and I didn't have a cough. I don't get sick offen but when I do I need it. I have 2 twins sick as well and their pediatrician prescribed them an antibiotic. We are going through the same illness. I should have saw the pediatrician. If you're sick find another place.

Horrible hospitable people. Girl at the front desk kept eye rolling people, barely greeted anyone or gave eye contact. I went during Labor Day weekend due to a fractured toe and honestly disappointed, felt like no one wanted to be there and everyone had an attitude, except for the PA Andrew who did my initial assessment. Lady who gave me the “special boot” at the end gave me a huge size which made my feet feel heavier and more in pain. I complained and received a decent size for my foot. I work at a hospital and seriously dissatisfied with this place! Would never come again.

Making people wait outside for over an hour in cold degrees the purpose of urgent care… I am not saying we should wait inside but how about taking our name and phone number and calling us when it’s our turn… so at least we can wait In our cars and not be in the elements. Poor management

Dr. Canter was very receptive while listening to my past experiences with pneumonia. Even though after using his stethoscope he had no concerns he ordered an X-ray as a precautionary measure. I felt very well taken care of and grateful to have been in such good hands.

I went there to get a referral to get an MRI for my knee and asked the receptionist at the desk if that is possible. She confirmed and said to speak with the doctor. When I finally saw the doctor, they were so useless, in that they could not make the referral and all they offered was a prescription for pain killers, which I declined. I stated this visit was a waste of my time and to make sure they do not bill me or my insurance. The receptionist confirmed that I would not get charged. A month later, I got a bill for $275 for their waste of time visit, that I am currently trying to dispute. They are so unprofessional and immature, when I call to discuss, they hang up on me and block my number. I had to file a complaint with the BBB and DFS to intervene. Stay away from this place unless you want a prescription for pain killers. Not sure if they would even get that right.

I’ve been to the Bellmore location twice now in about 3 months. The facility is nice, the check in was quick and I was seen pretty quickly without a long wait. The PA (Paula) isn’t the best and is the reason I’m rating them so low. Both times I’ve been there I’ve been seen by her. She’s cold, dismissive, and wrong with her diagnosis. My first visit was for a Covid test. I explained my symptoms, that I was recently with 4 family members that have all been positive with Covid, and that a home test gave me a positive result but I wanted a pcr. They gave me a rapid which came back negative and she comes in the room telling me I don’t have Covid and my test was likely false. I explained again that I had 4 relatives positive and my symptoms. She says, “well, if you really want a pcr then we can send it off”. Got the results, positive for Covid. Next visit, I go in with complains of a sore throat, swollen tonsils, light cough and white “spots” all over my tonsils. They do a rapid strep test. She comes in, “well your negative got strep so you have tonsil stones, go to an ENT”. Go to an ENT and he takes a look at my throat and says “who told you that you have tonsil stones? They misdiagnosed you. You have tonsillitis and need an antibiotic”. I don’t care for her dismissive attitude and eagerness to give a diagnosis just to get out of the room. If you need medical attention and see her working at this location, just find another provider.

I went to City MD and I was amazed how welcoming and comforting the staff was. The Pa and Medical Assistant worked really well together. The MA did the vitals the Pa came in and did the exam and explained what she was prescribing and asked if we had any questions. No sitting in a room waiting forever for someone to come in.

All they did was to use my insurance for every test even the flu that I did not ask them to do and did not give me any medication for the terrible infection at my throat that I asked for!! They said it's a virus and they have nothing to give. After they said they would send a nasal spray prescription to my pharmacy and when I went there, there was none! This place is a waste of time, money and insurance!!

Wish I could give 0 stars. I came in to be seen and there were 2 people ahead of me in the waiting room. I was put into the examine room and left there for an hour and a half !!!!! I go out and there are people who came in after me leaving. I asked what was going on and they said they are seeing the other doctor….. I didn’t ask to see a specific doctor. If you notice a patient has been sitting in the room waiting over an hour and a half WHY isn’t the other doctor stepping in????????? ALL THE WAITING to be seen for literally 30 seconds by the doctor.

They don't hire real doctors, they can't even diagnose a simple cold/flu. The doctor that saw me send my test to the lab for a simple flu.. didn't even prescribed meds for the flu just send me home with a bad cold

I needed to get a rapid test for covid-19. The web page says no appointment necessary for testing. When you call the recording tells you no appointment is necessary just come down. Then you're made to wait on the line if there are still appointments remaining for that day and late into the evening. Or you drive there in my case 30 minutes and I told there are no appointments for the remainder of the day come back and stand online at 6 in the morning to make an appointment for tomorrow. I will however say that once you are in the facility and deal with the people they are extremely nice, helpful and cooperative

My Father and I received the rapid test as well as the PCR for covid 19 yesterday . The staff was so helpful when it came to checking in. We saw a doctor by the name of Kristen Kelly and she was one of the best doctors I’ve come across. Her professionalism, knowledge and calm demeanor gave us extreme comfort in a stressful time for us. She was absolutely amazing and walked us through the process as well as what to keep an eye out for. I left feeling less nervous and knowing I had a doctor that cared made for a nice experience. Highly recommend this office and this doctor. Thank you.

Waited on line for 5+ hours to get a rapid Covid-19 test and arrived to the site before 7am (they don't open until 8am.) They only had one doctor on staff that "had" to see all patients, which was a ploy to charge insurance for the visit. Once inside, I was seen pretty quickly by the nurse, but waited 45 minutes for the doctor to ask how I was. I replied "fine" and she told me I could go home. Ridiculously understaffed, but staff I did meet was friendly enough.

I came here for a Covid test. Although I waited for 2 hours on the line, I have to say customer service was great. The receptionist were amazing. Especially the lady working the middle check in area with brown hair. She was so sweet. I’ve worked in the medical field for so many years and I have to say it was a pleasant visit despite the wait. Great job girls! You’re appreciated!

Called for a rapid Covid test, their recorded answering system states “simply walk in no appointment needed, and have a result in 15 min” so I drove almost an hour away only to be told by a 12 year olds looking receptionist that I need to be put on a list prior to being texted and that they were booked for the night. I explained how far I had traveled-and what their voice recording states when calling, and it was like talking to a wall. Blank stare , no response or care , all he said was they open at 9am. As if I had time to wait or spare I would travel back to them for an hour each way to get tested ? Smh…. Horrible service and zero empathy. Do not recommend city MD Bellmore to anyone.

The nurse was very nice and personable and the sign up process to get in the queue in the morning was efficient and well handled. But besides that, there were a lot of quality and safety issues. First up, the sign-in process to give my information seemed very over the top just to get a COVID test. In the past, I'd given my license and insurance card and that was it. With this, I had to fill out page after page of information. Then, I had to wait for awhile in the waiting room watching the front desk people being generally unpleasant toward anyone they spoke with. It felt unsafe because of how high COVID rates are and the majority who were there likely had COVID symptoms. The thing that really bothered me though was that many on staff were wearing their masks intermittently or it was not covering their nose and mouth, which I felt like was very unprofessional generally but especially given we are in the middle of a Omicron surge that is infecting lots of people regardless of vaccination status. Also, when the doctor did my PCR test, he stuck the swab up my nose and didn't swirl it around or anything and it left me wondering whether the sample was valid or not. In past COVID testing situations, the process took anywhere from 2-15 minutes. I was at CityMD for about an hour, much of it sitting in a waiting room where many people likely had COVID and staff who were not consistently wearing masks. I appreciated the convenience of being able to make an appointment same day as they are very hard to find right now, but I would not return.

If I was able to give a lower rating than 1 star for this place I would.. I have never been more disgusted with a health care facility in my life.. My husband and I walk up to the front desk and let them know that we were there because he had broken his wrist and to my absolute shock the woman asks, with an attitude mind you, "is it even that bad?"... Is it even that bad? It was clear that they were not concerned in the slightest.. So we showed her his wrist and with an eye roll she points us in the direction of a kiosk to register. It was blatant that we would not be getting proper care so we walked out. They are obviously not concerned with anything other than covid patients so if you have any other issues DO NOT GO HERE! It is to be expected, during this pandemic, to either have to wait a while or to deal with staff shortages but that should absolutely not effect who gets cared for. I will never return to this facility and I truly hope that others follow suit. Absolutely dispicable.

Ridiculous incompetence. I’ve been sent to multiple “specialists on the payroll” as Dr. Saddique put it. None of them have found any answers and I’m still here in pain. This guy said I had hernia when I have an infection in my intestines (supposedly). Feels like I’m being passed around so you can bill my top notch insurance as much as I can. Never again with this place.

  • 3/5 Melissa P. 2 years ago on Google
Unfortunately the demand for Covid testing is extremely high right now and with many locations temporarily closed the Bellmore location is even more crowded. My experience with the staff and check-in process was all fine. The facility is very clean and the nurse and doctor I met with were both very professional and nice. **I took a Rapid Covid test and 5 hours later I still have not received my results!!** I waited an hour and a half on line in the cold before putting my name and number on a list and was sent a text message 2-1/2 hours later to return for my test. Once inside, it was about 20 minutes until I was called into the exam room. I simply cannot spend another day re-taking the test again and am outraged that my results have not been sent to me yet or uploaded onto the app. I called and spoke with a nice person, Anne, who explained that the computer systems are currently not working properly and to call back in 30 minutes. **Update: called again and finally got the negative result I was hoping for!! Only took 5-1/2 hours and two phone calls.**

Dr. Russel Raskin will provide you with the worst bedside manners one can hope for when you come in for help. My daughter had awful pains and Dr. Russel Raskin said "why are you here after only a few hours of pain"? "Go to the hospital or I can take my child home and let her suffer, urgent care is not a hospital" Disgusting behavior from a trusted professional.

Go here! They probably saved my life. For weeks everybody else was misdiagnosing my lung infection as allergies. It was on the border of becoming pneumonia. I had no energy , couldnt take deep breaths, and was extremely congested. Assitant Lincoln, took my vitals, PA Herman Tong did the exam. Both exceptional professionals. Lincoln found me a 24hr drugstore that could fill my Rx immediately. They sent me home with detailed instructions (not just, "get out. Who's next?") and THE RIGHT antibiotics and nasal spra.y Within 3 days I was breathing better. Thanks, folks at City MD, for taking the time to do the exam right. And for saving me from needing a miserable trip to the ER.

  • 1/5 Renae C. G. 1 year ago on Google
Rushed my care, not thorough at all. Couldn’t even give me a diagnosis and made me wait over an hour to see someone, even though they were taking people who walked in after me and I was urgently ill with a high fever. The doctor, Helen Weiss, was apathetic and had no bedside manner at all, first thing she did was complain about how busy it was that day. The nurses couldn’t even take my temperature correctly — I had to ask them to do it again after the first nurse didn’t put the thermometer all the way under my tongue. Front desk staff are even less caring or present, they can’t be bothered to even answer your questions. Honestly a terrible experience. I wasn’t handled appropriately at all, despite being very ill with a high fever. I ended up going to the ER the very next day. The standard of care at this place has dropped a lot. I won’t be going back.

I recently got a rapid COVID swab after having flu like symptoms for a couple of days. First of all the virtual line is amazing, quick and updates you immediately. I know how hard all the staff and everyone at city MD is tirelessly working to help provide optimal, quick and safe care for all their patients. I would like to give a shout out for the staff that was on duty this past Wednesday (12/30). From the all of the experience with the kind, informative and helpful security guard, the front desk and technician and doctor who took care of me. It was a quick, easy and as good of an experience you can get from getting swabbed. This city MD is extremely clean and they follow all the proper safety protocols. Thank you to the staff for all you do to help keep the community safe!

I needed to be tested for the COVID 19 and called before going there. What I noticed during our phone call was that they were very forthcoming in answering my questions. Not all COVID testing is free everywhere you go but you will not be charged at CityMD. I had previously called GoHealth Urgent Care and they provide COVID testing but will charge up to $400 and insurance is not covering it. With GoHealth which is part of the Prohealth group they are not forthcoming on the phone and you must be very direct in your questioning to get to that fact. Otherwise, you will end up with a big bill in the mail only after the fact. But I’m glad 😀 I dealt with CityMD where they were professional and treated me with dignity. As it should be at all times with all patients. The doctor also had no problem answering a few questions during my visit.

Recently went to City MD on Merrick Road for a Covid test. I was dreading having to wait on line. To my surprise at 1:30 in the afternoon there was only one person waiting outside! When it was my turn I gave my license to the Security Guard along with my cellphone number and answered his question as to why I was there. I was told I would get a text message telling me I had a half-hour to return for my visit. He then sent a text to my phone to be sure my info was correct. There were 79 patients ahead of me but I could text to get an update. They were open until 10:30 p.m. and I received a text at 9:30! When I left at 10:30 there were still patients signing in. Sincerest thanks to this dedicated staff for their diligent work.

While it was a bit of a wait and they require that only the patient stays in the building, I did appreciate the fact that they were open late. This urgent care is also very medically prepared to assist as they even had an X-ray machine on premises. Once you have already visited any CityMD branch it makes the check in process faster as your information is already in the system. This helps incase you forget to bring your insurance card. Also, CityMD as a company has always stood out to me as they provide post-consultation reports so that way the patient is fully aware of their diagnosis and prescribed treatment. Finally, I have always experienced kind staff members no matter which CityMD branch I have been to.

urgent care is completely ruined. they say they take walk in patients but it is not true. they close this place at 11pm. I arrived for a consultation and it was 9:55 pm and they did not want to take me. they do not want to attend to people and they let it go by saying a simple sorry.

One of the worst experiences ever. My daughter was so upset after leaving . The staff was probably the worst I have ever experienced. The Dr herself was nasty and visably aggravated with having to deal with my daughters issue . I will be sure to inform anyone I know to not go to citymd in bellmore.

It’s 10:30, they close at 11, and they just denied me medical help because there at “max capacity on their list for this evening.” I’m sorry, but I didn’t realize someone health was added to a list. Disgusted to say the least.

Very unprofessional facility. Receptionists look highly over worked from the front desk to others running around, as well as lobby being fully packed. Do they not understand that covid is still spreading? it is unethical to have a complete crowded lobby with others around you possibly sick. Not just a few individuals, I mean FULL PACKED lobby. Very unsanitary. The self check in machines were extremely greasy with finger prints. They had texted me to come in, aside from waiting for that text, when I came in I waited more than an hour, not even being brought back to a room yet! Whoever is managing this facility needs to be more aware of their “patients”!

The lines are long but that’s expected due to the second wave of covid that is hitting our cities. My review is about my experience once you enter the doors at CITYMD. I’ve been to a few locations (Bellmore, Bay Shore, Lindenhurst and Lake Grove) an overall my experience has been great. The team greeting you at the front desk has been super helpful and courteous. If you have any questions about your visit, they are more than willing to answer you or get someone that can further assist you. The Doctors and the rest of the staff that actually see you and do the covid testing are super nice and try to make you feel calm so that you don’t panic with the test results that they are about to give you. They listen to you and explain the entire procedure very clearly. I work in the medical field and I am happy to say that CITYMD has treated me the same way that I treat my patients and my current place of employment. Keep up the good work TEAM and thank you for all you guys do!!

The most professional and well trained staff of any urgent care facilty I have ever used. An excellent experience even though the number of people waiting on line for Covid testing was incredibly long. It was definitely worth the wait to be treated by this exceptional group of personable and well trained professionals.

I would highly recommend City MD staff were very caring! However I don’t like how they have you wait...I waited online for a Covid test 4 hours in the freezing cold and another 30 mins for the test. I would recommend what Pro Health does you go inside give your information and they call you when it’s your turn. At least I would have been warm sitting in my car.

If you actually “urgently” require care, I’d recommend going anywhere else than coming here and waiting in line for 3 hours.

Making possible Covid patients in a line out in the cold for over two hours is inhumane. What is worse is that they do not seem to care.

Dr. Balfour and the MA on staff were so kind and engaging during my testing/visit. Despite the constant influx of potential COVID patients, they both were so calm and present. For someone like myself, who is a very anxious person in regards to COVID, the staff put me at ease, and Dr. Balfour even got me to laugh. I am so appreciative for the staff at this location.

Since CityMD is the only place in town where you can walk in to get a Covid test same day it helps that they’re very organized and very nice. Just know that since there are so many cases right now you must go get on line before they’re open to secure a spot for a same day test. They do a virtual line so u don’t have to wait all day. You can go home and then go back when you get a text that they’re ready for you. They hit capacity before 10:00 am.

Like someone said- they say "no appointment necessary" but yet don't warn you online or on the phone about the process to sign up to get tested.. which was the bad part about my experience.. the fact that I had to be up and out at 630am waiting on a line that wrapped around the building ( I was number 20 or so originally when I got there, and then by the time CityMD opened at 8am, friends and family members of other people ahead of me on the line joined in late- which pushed me back another 10 or more people...) and that line was to sign up on a tablet with one of their staff members with my name and phone number so that they could call me to come back later for the COVID test... once I was called back in later on- the rest of my experience was positive as usual. At CityMD i am always treated in a kind and timely matter.. the place is always clean, and the staff is always nice. I just hope they figure out a better way to have people sign up in the morning to get tested instead of waiting on a line for two hours in the cold when they might potentially have covid 🤧🤒

I did not feel that warm welcome from the front desk. In the parking lot a front desk employee after I was waiting for 5 minutes to get a parking space drove in the parking spot I waiting for and ignore me waiting and took the parking g spot. I was in pain. The doctor rush through my diagnosis. I did not feel heard. He rush through my diagnostic once he heard I was in the gym. He automatically said I pulled my back out. I had to advocate for myself and I said are you sure it’s not something else? Then he decided to take a urine test. I am disappointed. I felt there was no care and compassion for the pain I was feeling because I was left in a small room for too long while the doctor attend to other patients. Overall no compassion. They need to get improve.

Went on a Tuesday for horrible back pain. Waited around an hour for a five min exam. The dr or PA did nothing, prescribed me a mild pain pill and said come back in two days if the pain is still bad. Of course the pain was still bad so went back on a Thursday. The first thing the Pa says is “if you want narcotics you won’t get that here”. Excuse me!!? If I want narcotics? What kind of comment is that? Seriously considering filing a formal complaint.
