ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY ONE OF THE WORST AND SCARIEST TIMES OF MY LIFE!!! Ended up in the ED at Albert Einstein in the Bronx on March 4, 2022. I will not go into all the medical details but it turns out I was very ill (close to dieing ill) where I ended up receiving 5 blood transfusions right in the ED. NEVER moved to a private, "cleaner" room. My situation worsened and ended up needing an emergency procedure done. After my procedure, I was brought BACK to recover in a bay in the ED that had not been cleaned from the previous patient. There was still urine samples and EKG stickers on the wall. I was told that I would be brought to a room soon enough (that was at 1am or so) at around 4am or so I was told that the room was given away that I would need to wait for another bed. Mind you, no monitors connected to me, no IV fluids connected to me even though I had all the IV ports connected to me. I called for a nurse / doctor around 7am because of the pain and after 20 minutes or so a DOCTOR told me if I did not shut up no one was going to help me. He then repeated himself. I literally walked out with all my IV ports connected, got in a cab and came to Jacobi Medical Center to complete my medical treatment. I was on deaths door and Einstein was helping me along. Go any place else but here if you want a fighting chance or want to be treated with a shred of decency.

I have read reviews that this hospital is hit and miss and that is exactly what it is. I have had some minor problems with the emergency room department. I have been through the ED many times between me and my mom and had a couple of issues including the wait. A couple of the nurses on the floors have attitudes but nothing that serious. I usually don't follow through reporting them after discharge. A head emergency room nurse called me up right after my mom was discharged because she lost her gold ring. The nurse was holding it for me and met me outside with the ring. I will never ever forget that act of kindness. The only thing that I really didn't like is how my mom was admitted and was stuck in a hallway with very little privacy. Then on the day of her discharge, when I was there to bring her home, one of the doctors started yelling when I asked where the discharge papers where. That got me very angry. Not my first hospital of choice.

Not even one star they deserve, worst emergency room ever. My daughter went in with gallbladder severe pain. just an ultra sound, and labs and sent home after 12 hours waiting. Only water given. no pain medication given. next day she shaking and with such horrific fever, she went in to urgent care in St peters Ave in the Bronx. Dr. there said she should have never been sent home and with no pain medication. Cats Scan and MRI and labs will be done, they took her right away in in a stretcher. and gave her morphine in the meantime. Its embarrassing that people from other country come and see the savageness we have in the emergency room. how people are treated just to bill insurance. Albert Einstein emergency room is the worst of the worst, and the other reviews speaks for itself. Disgusting, never ever again I will recommend this hospital. Total inhuman, waiting hours and in pain. the nurses are also nasty. Why choose this care if your not compassionate.

This is the worst hospital I’ve ever seen in the United States. Please do not send your loved ones into this hospital. So many of the nurses that I’ve encountered with while my father was there are so Hostile, Disrespectful, Aggressive, Unsympathetic & Insensitive. It’s a problem to ask questions with these nurses. Everytime I ask questions I get screamed at, cursed at and insulted several times by the night shift nurses simply because I wanted to know my dads labs, vitals and care received. If I request to speak to a charge nurse, a nurse (will not disclose name for privacy reasons) will pretend to be the charge nurse & she will literally provoke & instigate an argument with me . I’ve reported it several times but the same thing happens. This is not how a hospital should operate especially in New York City, America. This is not how a nurse should behave. It’s very important to show empathy to your patients & their family’s especially if there going through a hard time. I’m so disgusted & appalled by such behaviors.

Since early morning I was having severe pain in the lower abdomen, I vomited many times, it was difficult to breathe. My husband called 911, and the ambulance came and took me to the hospital, they sent me to the white zone, But here patients are already waiting and complaining, no one is coming to see them even after waiting for a long time. I'm waiting, no one is taking urine for exam with urine in hand, blood test is not doing anything. The nurse sits and chats, and gossips, passing idle time. My husband is calling the nurse after seeing my bad health but they don’t respond. When we see no one is coming no response, We decided we go other hospital but before leaving we should complain.. My husband said he wants to speak to the person in charge, or the manager or supervisor, to report there actions nothing more. They didn’t give the number, showing attitude, rude behavior. My husband just wanted to inform the trustees about their services and responsibilities before leaving the hospital. If only they would speak politely without showing attitude, It wouldn't be a problem. But on the contrary, they are misbehaving with my husband… I am a patient at that time think about my mental and physical condition? Who will take responsibility if something happens to me? Our lives matter, Asian lives matter. My question is If the patient doesn't get treatment in the hospital, what should we do? we should die at home? I want justice. Check the CC cameras 📷 please They didn't let me do the video Albert Einstein Hospital 1825 Eastchester Rd, Bronx, NY 10461

Please, do NOT bring your loved ones here. An elderly woman (83 y/o) falls and loses consciousness. High priority means you should do a STAT CT scan to rule out a head injury/stroke, whether ischemic or hemorrhagic. Why is it that a CT is done 4-5 hours after her admission? How is proper stroke protocol supposed to be implemented?? She passes away and the nurses make inappropriate, disgusting comments about a DECEASED patient. Horrendous. Take your loved ones elsewhere. Would not give it a single star.

This hospital if that's what you want to call it gets a minus 4 stars. My 88 year mother went to ER. She waited for a room for 3 & a half days only to be told she was never getting a room. The conditions in ER are hellish & obscenely disgusting! My mother was completed ignored in every way. Had to chase down the meal server to get her a meal. If the patient does not have a family or friend advocating for their needs this place is dangerous & a death trap!! It should not be allowed to operate! Very sad 20 something years ago this was the best hospital. Now I wouldn't send my worse enemy there!!

Treated a patient very rudely. The patient hurt her back before coming and isn’t able to walk, they had to bathe her and didn’t know how to wash her. Gave her an egg burrito when she’s allergic to EGGS!! They didnt take her pee, so she was stuck in pee!! A nurse came in at middle of the night asking did she need a bath. The nurse said ok and never came back. She pushes the button when she needs help, she’s struggling and when she pushes the button they don’t help. She doesn’t wanna hit the button because they might think she need help for everything. When she’s the one that needs help. She’s a patient. It’s 4:28 and she hasn’t ate. I am so disappointed in this hospital!!! You guys need to be prepared to have people in need of help! Get better and making your patients feel comfortable and safe.

I am expressing my deep concern and disappointment regarding my recent visit to the Montefiore Emergency Room on November 7th, 2023. I feel compelled to bring to your attention the highly unsatisfactory experience I had during my time at your facility. Upon arriving at the emergency room, I waited for an alarming 4 hours without being attended to, which is unacceptable in any medical setting. During this time, I observed the service associates and staff displaying unprofessional behavior by using inappropriate language and making disparaging remarks about their colleagues, creating an uncomfortable environment for the patients. Furthermore, my concerns escalated when I was taken for an x-ray, where the staff exhibited a lack of professionalism. They attempted to administer a pain medication without explaining its purpose or obtaining my informed consent. I found this approach to be highly concerning and unacceptable. Only after questioning the necessity of the medication did I receive an explanation, and I promptly rejected the injection. This experience has left me deeply disturbed and has shaken my trust in the competency and professionalism of the medical staff at Montefiore Emergency Room. As a patient, I expected to receive timely and respectful care, which unfortunately was not the case during my visit. I shudder to think of the potential consequences had I not questioned the medication being administered to me without proper explanation or consent. I urge you to thoroughly investigate this matter and take appropriate action to address the unprofessional behavior and lack of communication exhibited by your staff. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and professionalism, especially in an emergency medical setting. I sincerely hope that my concerns are taken seriously, and measures are put in place to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. Regrettably, based on my experience, I have lost faith in the quality of care provided at Montefiore Emergency Room, and I have decided that I will never seek medical assistance at your facility ever again

Where do I begin? It has taken 2months for the fury I feel to be palatable enough for this review. My Dad arrived at this hospital with the crucifix he always wore and a family heirloom turquoise ring. He wore them every day. As he lay dying in this hospital, his crucifix and his ring went missing. No one in the hospital could tell us what happened to his jewelry. I'm am angry and hurt that someone would take his things while he lay on his death bed. The fact that the hospital has made no attempt to investigate or rectify the situation is beyond hurtful. NEVER LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONE ALONE IN THIS PLACE.

My father was taken here after a pretty nasty fall. This has to be one of the worst ERs I have ever seen! Gurneys everywhere with patients being "cleaned" out in the open. Some were side to side. I barely had a place to stand. My father stood there for FIVE days before he was given a room. Oh and God forbid you have a question or want to talk to a doctor, forget it! I actually called the nurses station from my cell as I stood there because it was the only way to get someone to answer anything. Complete and utter nightmare. I pray my father never has another injury and if he does, I will absolutely advocate he go elsewhere. The two stars are solely given for the nice phone staff and the ONE nurse who saw me getting frustrated and talked with us for a bit.

Who the hell makes a 57 year old woman who had brain tumors pregnant? Your commercial highlighting this makes me sick. I hope she paid for all these services herself. I think of all the people with horrible diseases and this is what your institution is proud of? It’s obscene! If she lives that long she will be 75 when her kid graduates high school. Try curing real diseases instead of perversion of nature

The wait is bad😓😪. They check you in to put you through the door quickly but when it comes to attentiveness and helping you with your needs this hospital is literally not the place to come if you are having an emergency.

This hospital is ridiculously bad. After being here for 26+ hours in the emergency department with my mom we’ve received no updates other than more tests needing to be ordered. No one has came after to check my moms vitals nor give an update in regards to what they might think she have or just to even check on her. Some staff are friendly but if no stars was possible I would give it zero stars. The lack of collaboration between staff to have patient needs met and get them seen is lack luster effort. I’ve seen patients screaming for help and only until they act out of character does someone come to their aide. I will never step foot nor will I recommend this hospital for any type of care.

While I can describe the negative I would like to focus on the positive. I ended up in the ER after I had a tonsillectomy and it was so scary! I would like to thank Dr. Meryl Kravitz and nurse Sandra (morning shift on April 6). They made me felt safe and heard and for that I would like to say I appreciate them!

I had my daughter last summer and I've been waiting on the survey page for so long. I've decided to write my review here as my experience was absolutely beautiful. I decided to have my daughter here as my mom had my brother 12 years ago in this same hospital and she had the best experience. She was C-section and I had my daughter vaginally, either way we were treated with so much respect and warmth. My husband was able to be present in the room and helped me practice breathing and all that, the nurse was very welcoming of his help. We were first time parents and had no idea what to expect but it was amazing. While pushing I asked for a mirror so I can picture what I was doing and they didn't hesitate for a second. Because this is med school/hospital, you probably will have students come in and such but they will always ask first. They asked if I could let some students (they are Drs already tbh lol) watch a bit of my birthing experience and even then the students were very respectful. The male Drs tried to not look for too long as not to make me feel awkward but when you're giving birth, you forget about everything 😂 I appreciated anyway.

couldn’t even rate this hospital one star. worst experience ever. my dad went there on tuesday because he was about to go into a diabetic coma. they wouldn’t even let one visitor in. my mom should’ve been the one to stay but they didn’t let her. he was sitting in the emergency room for 22 hours!!!! my mom kept calling every few hours and what it took to get an update was a disgrace. the security guards kept repeating “the doctor is seeing the patient”, just tell us the update! they didn’t feed him nor give him water knowing he was a diabetic. the nurses and doctors were horrible to him. he was waiting on a room but wouldn’t get it till the evening so he was just sitting there….he was screaming for the nurses and they said “why are you yelling?” because they kept coming and going. they would check on him then leave for 2 hours. his heart rate was high and they were worried for him to leave. my family wanted him out and my dad was able to sign himself out. he told the doctor he was leaving, she has his papers and just disappeared for an hour and a half…we picked him up & transferred him to a hospital by us taking much better care for him. such a disgusting hospital. can’t believe the system they have. beds are everywhere and it’s just horrible and overcrowded. do better especially for a hospital.

I never post negative reviews but this hospital has a severe problem. It is very much disorganized and disorderedly. The MA does not know how to listen to the concerns of patients after many times of stating the symptoms. The wait is astronomical. Waited in 3 different waiting rooms for more than 3 hours. The patient care is horrendous and the patient volume is catastrophic for the amount of staff the hospital has. They need to hire more attentive staff and organize this system because patients do not deserve this kind of service. 0/5.

I really didn't want to give a 1 rating but I couldn't write this review of this hospital. My sister went to this hospital 11/20/23 she was having seizures I witness two of them while she was in the er. They places her on the 8th floor, for a day or to than I received a call saying they placed her in ICU ON A Ventilator 3 seizure medications & the sedative propofol, they kept her there for for a couple of weeks. Than she was moved to the 4th floor where my sister took her last breath on 12/12/23.This hospital is the worst no real communication with the Dr's. They kept saying the neurologist said this the neurologist said thay. Not once has my family spoken to or seen a neurologist. We requested her cause of death and they had the nerve to list cause of death Pneumonia and Sepsis. We were never ever told she was Septic. Grounds for a Law suit. I think this hospitalis getting away with a lit. Someone mush put a stop to this horrible hospital they also tried to the funeral home who we called them to inform them he was coming to pick up my sister to wait because she was a tissue donor . My sister was never a tissue donor . We will examine my sister well , this hospital is a danger zone . I also feel when they called us up there because they didn't feel my sister would make it through the night 12/12/23 my baby sister was already deceased or close to it . Her lips were already that ashy great color

The worst place ever the worst staff starting with the greeter by the door to the doctors and the nurses. This place have been better before covid and now it charged 100% different staff and full of lazy employees all they do is talk and laugh with each other and done. I been here from 5:55pm to 12 am around waiting for ankle Xray for my son.Around 7pm a pregnant lady came in 40 weeks pregnant water broke and guess what it took them around 15min to take her upstairs. The register nurse who was training a new employee there was telling her you don't care what they say and complain unless they have hart attack call a nurse for EkG and do what you have to do im never coming back again here best place gun hill children's hospital.

Don't have your baby here at this hospital. I gave birth to my son 2 weeks ago and he's been in the nicu since he was born. They take multiple tests of the same damn tests and results could be normal and negative and they still finding ways to keep my son. They won't release him to me and I just witnessed a mother in pain due to her baby dying right here in this nicu. I am scared for my sons life and they won't release him to me. I will definitely be suing this nicu and the neglectful nurses that don't care about these babies. Everyday it's a brand new issue with my son... I just want my baby home safe and sound.

If I could give birth here again I would.. the labor and delivery unit discharged me due to me not being dilated enough however the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT saved me once it was time to give birth . I am very grateful for the entire medical team that was present of the morning of 11/17/2023. My delivery was blissful and my baby was safe. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

I would like to give a shout out to the nurses on the 3rd floor and 11th floor for the type of care that I have received while staying there for a few days from a procedure that was done by Dr.Lowe . The staff have treated me with great respect and listened to all of my concerns . I give them props for all the work and made me felt very comfortable . Thank you for the services that you have provided to me .

The ER Intern doctors have memory like goldfish, probably from sleep deprivation. I was admitted within a reasonable amount of time, and spent 14 days in Unit 2 N. The staff there was amazing. An RN checked on you at least once an hour, if your RN was on break, another RN checked. The CNAs always maintained good attitudes despite the way some patients would treat them. Everyone worked together as a team. The Nurse Manager there definitely runs a tight ship! I also found the psychiatry MD's were absolutely remarkable, and incomparable to any other hospital I've been to. They take pain and discomfort very seriously, and employ a use of a multitude of drugs and not just "Give them some tylenol and see if that works".

I will never go here again. They poked and prodede me. Asked me the same questions over and over. Put me in a bed and left me in the hallway. They definitely will take your vitals and blood to bill your insurance but good luck getting any real care. After 2 hours of being in the hallway to see if I had a stroke no one came for me. After a total of 5 hours waiting for a brain scan I realized i would not be getting one. So I signed myself out and left to search for care and help else where. Do not go here.

I have been here since 5:40 am… it is currently 3:10pm. I waited 30 for painkillers. Nothing to eat. I was barely given water without a “Doctor’s” consent and they dismissed me when I tired to get their attention. I have a severely swelled foot due to a fractured ankle bone. The swelling has now spread to my foot and is becoming discolored. Stiff and numb. I really don’t like the lack of service here. They have time to socialize then care for patients. It’s unprofessional.
