This restaurant is one of my top favorite places in Ann Arbor. The ambience of this restaurant is phenomenal and the decoration inside is antique with many beautiful artifacts. It is a polish style restaurant where you could find variety of food and desserts. Have visited this place multiple times and will go again if I get chance. Highly recommended place and you will never regret spending money there for good food and great environment.

We were in town for a synchronized skating competition and stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant while walking through downtown. Very quaint atmosphere and wonderful food. The potato pancakes, pierogi, and goulash were excellent. The selection of European beers is very good and the Napoleon dessert is worth the calories! Service was outstanding as should be expected for a small specialty restaurant like this. Price was very reasonable and the place ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.

Oh my!!! Amadeus is lovely!!! We had such a wonderful time and the food was amazing! The service was absolutely perfect, attentive but not intrusive. The pierogies are the best ever. I really recommend the kielbasa. The potato pancake with dill sour cream and caviar was exquisite....and the dessert menu is entrancing...

Time travel back in time for some great food and price points. Enjoyed the perogies, paprikash, and poppysee cake. The portions are perfect for the richness of the food. Very professional service. The chairs were not the most comfortable but fit the time period.

This one’s been on the must try list for sometime and had high hopes. Unfortunately , it fell a little (b)flat, God forgive my Dad jokes? A place with a solid reputation and quite a few accolades in the early 2010”s, the food is Middle European with a nod to Poland. The decor is eclectic mix of its namesake Amadeus Mozart and what appears to be the owners travels. A- Service- There were only two waiters and they did their next to stay on top of the approximately 12 tables and were friendly. They even served us before our reservation time. C- Decor- as stated it’s an eclectic mix of an homage to the classical composer to brass instruments with sticks coming out of the end. Also for some reason an odd red velvet veil covered entrance , flanked on both sides by overflowing house plants. Definitely dated , not necessarily my style but some might really like it. C- Food- We were really looking forward to generous portions and hearty, rich , hot food and we were left a little disappointed. While it was good ,it wasn’t great! I had the Krakow Chicken and it was fine but lacked the rich depth of flavor you expect for Eastern/ Middle European food and it was also luke warm. The Chicken paprikash was delicious however but once again served just warm. God effort but were expecting better from solace that’s so revered. C- Price/Value- 2 entrees, a cup of soup and an appetizer with one glass of wine was just under $90.00 ( with tip). Was this a rip off? No. Was it worth it and would we return? Afraid not. Summation- While this charming little restaurant rightfully deserved some of its press and accolades over the years i’m thinking that it’s best days are probably behind it now. Good food and an odd eclectic ambience at an Ann Arbor premium , has its places. If you are interested check it out but i wouldn’t line up. Options Hungarian Rhapsody Mezgers

Our first time. Had a very nice meal here. The goulash was great. Fresh bread! Other central European dishes on the menu. Check it out!

Wow. I have to say I wasn't expecting how good this place is. The Pierogis are out of this world. I had the pork and mushroom and the sourkraut ones and both were excellent. The pork cutlet was very good especially when paired with some of the best sourkraut, I've had in a long time. I had to order more kraut. So full. So satisfying.

We stopped in for dinner during our visit. There were only 2 tables occupied when we got there, so we were sat immediately. Our server greeted us quickly and with a "Bonjour." The menu seems mostly Polish/Hungarian. We ordered a few appetizers and drinks, taking our time and not feeling rushed. We ordered potato pancakes and pierogies. The pancakes were pretty good, not great. The pierogies were excellent, but we were not given the ones we ordered (there were about 6 options), which was okay since they were still good. As I am unable to eat onions, I kept asking our server if dishes contained onions or if they could be made without. He kept going in the back and twice came back and said I am not sure. Really, come on. I settled for my 4th choice, the Kielbasa, which was very good, but not what I really wanted. I did have a very good beer. In summary, there are better places in Ann Arbor for dinner.

Wanted some goulash and reddit led me here. The were booked out for grad weekend but let me in at a small table. Food: 4/5: Started me out with two very delicious warm soft rolls that had a great crust, and a salad that felt about as good as a packaged salad but it was “free” so can’t really complain. It was mostly fresh with a couple wilted leaves. The goulash was excellent. The meat was flavorful and super tender, the sauce also super flavorful and the perfect consistency. However the egg noodles were overcooked for my liking, because they were a little mushy they didn’t offer as much of a texture difference as they could have. I wonder if they prepped them a while ago and by sitting warm they cooked more than they intended. The desert was blueberry cheesecake it was more cake than cheese. However the blueberry filling tasted great and fresh and the crust paired really wells with the mascarpone. As a pleasant surprise it was plated beautifully and with very fresh blueberries and sliced strawberries. All of it tasted great together. Service was great: 5/5 didn’t bug me too much but still kept my water full, was very polite and kind. I received my food in less than 10 minutes after ordering. Atmosphere: 5/5 a little dim, no harsh direct lighting but several of those fake candle chandeliers. Lots of cool wood carvings of people and sail boat drawings on some of the walls. An ancient cash register sits on top of the desert display and at the center of the restaurant they had a guitarist playing beautifully. That was the main reason I ordered desert just to listen longer.

This is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in Ann Arbor. I have been going for years and I have never, I mean never, had a bad meal. It is a Polish restaurant and you can tell that everything at this place is made from scratch cooking and made with love 💞!! You will be paying $20-30 a plate but it is well worth it, plus it is a very hearty portion. They have a good wine selection and make sure you leave room for dessert, whatever you get, it will be good. I have worked my way through most of the menu and nothing has tasted bad, so whatever you feel like on the menu I feel confident in its taste. The service is the best in Ann Arbor, Michael is one of the greatest servers I have had at any restaurant. He is attentive, kind, always seems to come back when you need something, and is not overbearing! I seriously cannot recommend this place enough, give it a shot!!

I feel sorry for giving such a low rating, but that’s just how their food was… Kielbasa (4.5/5) tastes wonderful but the portion size was so small ($12 for a single piece of sausage). The rest of the dishes are meh (2/5). Meat lacks the depth of flavors and noodles are overcooked; at this price point I was expecting more, much more actually. The owner was super friendly so I guess I will give them a second chance after a while.

Had an early dinner before a show at The Ark. Four of us dined and found the food to be delightful. Collectively we enjoyed the food, the ambiance, and especially our waiter Michael. He was very polite and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend Amadeus.

GO HERE!!! OMG great food, BEST service. Michael was amazing! I was blown away by how great this place is. Everything is fresh and you can tell they put love into their food. Portions are a large size and you can't complain about the price.

If you're looking for a little place to tuck into and out of the windy Ann Arbor winter (or fall for that matter), check out Amadeus on Washington St. You'll feel like you walked into your Polish grandmother's dining room - mismatched chairs, lace curtains, kitschy stuff on the walls, and even your old uncle or younger cousin playing the piano (or guitar or whatever other live music is on hand). Pierogis rule here but they sell out fast so make sure you know what's available before you order. Entrees are hearty and not really for those watching their cholesterol (kielbasa and sauerkraut anyone?). The wine list is short and Eastern/Central Europe in focus. An added bonus - there is a small but relatively undiscovered parking garage right across the street.

Our family had a wonderful dinner at Amadeus last weekend. Favorite app at the table was the Krakow Placek, and favorite main dish was the Paprikash! It was excellent! Full of flavor and the perfect comfort food after a cold day at the game. We shared a decadent chocolate torte with raspberry essence for dessert. Atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Definitely a place I would highly recommend when in Ann Arbor.

Cute eastern European place in Ann Arbor. Part of a dying breed of restaurant it is one of a kind. Small space with unique decor that has has so much going on it is impossible to take in all in one visit. The food is outstanding, and they are doing something no one else in town is doing, or has been doing.

I did not have high hopes and just needed to kill some time, but the ambiance, food, and service was splendid. The pierogi and salads were almost as good as homemade ones in Poland! A little pricey; however, I would recommend if you're in the area.

I had my small wedding dinner at Amadeus and it was just perfect. There was a live musician playing guitar, and the atmosphere was just beautiful. The food was delicious, and gets my Polish family's seal of approval. I heard that the desserts at Amadeus are award winning, and I am not surprised. Everyone in my party tried something different and it was all delicious. Thank you for all the memories Amadeus!
