We arrived at our room that was located in the lobby, like next to the desk used for checkin and in the area where people eat. The bathroom floor had hair around the toilet, the toilet seat was already wet (that could’ve been anything but still), there was more hair in the shower around the soaps. General cleanliness was just not up to par. This room was the more expensive queen and twin bed room with private bath, the lobby location was terrible. We had an early flight the next day and my partner had food poisoning sadly, it was just a night for some rest. Location to restaurants was good since the food menu at this hotel is very limited and quite pricy. When we got back from dinner a bit after 10, there was a full concert in the lobby and the dots into the bathroom and bedroom with sizable gaps let in all the noise, not very happy about that one. Overall, 1 star, would not recommend this as there are plenty other options in the area for the same price that look much better. We should have moved hotels the moment we got here.

Don‘t eat at the restaurant! They had sushi on their card, why we ordered some. We, like all the other guests of the „Restaurant“, waited more than 70 minutes for 5 pcs of sushi, the girl told us we have to wait like 25 minutes. We also waited for an excuse, but did not get one. Don‘t waist your time at this hostel!!

I am from the US. So my review might be a little bit more picky than natives.i stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The AC was nice and they give you filtered water in your room. But there were COCKROACHES.!! Yes I had to kill 3 while there. They tell you to turn off the lights when you leave and I did but returned to cockroaches in my suitcase. This hadn’t happened anywhere else on my trip around Ecuador. My other friend staying at this hotel said she found some also in her room. There were even some in my bed. The food options sucked. Almost everything was vegetarian. My shower didn’t have hot water so I had to shower in my friends room. I followed the shower instructions and even waited 10 minutes and still didn’t have hot water.

The pictures in booking and what you actually get it's completely different. The room was so dark, had a smell and directly in front are the rubbish bins. I have booked according to the photos which where shown in my room selection in booking a nice dorm. But got a dark room with no windows and it even wasn't a dorm. Staff is friendly tough. Common areas looks nice but that's all.

For the price paid, the service was exceptional. Note, however, that there are two areas in the whole city where there are standards and safety is greater. Manso boutique is located on the waterfront in the old historic district. For two or three blocks this area is fine, but thereafter it changes for the worse. The other district is north of the airport and bus terminal - the best area of the city so I've heard. The former requires a taxi as the distance is far from your arrival point. Uber taxis were sub $3 each way in the evening and $4 is the average. Manso guesthouse itself has a sea view and a secure door lock. A balcony is present and food and drinks are available at reasonable prices. The WiFi wasn't great at all, and the shower was only warm (though refreshing as Guayaquil is very humid), but I was given a spacious twin room (though I booked a dormitory) and the included breakfast was a nice touch consisting of egg, fruit, juice, coffee and other things. The staff were friendly, the cleanliness was good and the decor stylish. Would recommend if you wish to visit the area 110%, though stay north of the terminal if your trip is brief.

the security at Manso Boutique is not guaranteed at all. we had cash stolen from the room plus a GoPro and the hotel staff did not want to believe that the things got away and they did not help us at all in the beginning and did not take us seriously. They did not accommodate us at all and the staff was completely overwhelmed with the situation. Only after we wanted to speak to the manager were we and our problem taken seriously. All in all, a very unprofessional staff and a disastrous experience at Manso Boutique Hotel. We would not recommend it to anyone!

We wouldn't come back! A GoPro and cash were stolen from our room. We told the hotel staff and also explained that we are sure that the things were there before, still they were suspicious of us and as a first reaction defended the cleaning lady. Only after 2 days complaining really angry, the hotel manager helped us more. The security in this hostel was not guaranteed! We were offered another night to stay, but we already had next bookings, then they didn't even offer a coffe or food ....

I made a reservation in January for my stay in June.. we just arrived and they said they had to cancel it. I never got any email saying it was cancelled. They acted like they did not care and only offered us a private room for MORE what we originally paid, with no discount. Very disappointing. I will not ever stay here again.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! As a tourist, I have stayed in many hostels. This one is so bad I can’t even fathom it. 1. I gave them a $10 for change and then the girl at the front desk refused to give me change or my money back. 2. They cancelled my reservation without any notice and made me pay for a private room instead. 3. Came for the happy hour and was told they were “out of alcohol” after receiving a text about it 30 minutes before me going. Overall - nothing but bad experiences here. And it’s NOTHING like the photos.

It looks more nice than it is. It is very noisy and old. Every time there are other girls in the he desk. The mojito is sometimes big, sometimes very small. The wifi is not good. The location is very good.

Good hotel for a few days in clean and safe location of Guayaquil, opposite the malecon- excellent staff and service. However the rooms do not look like the pictures, and are much older condition. Also the hotel is located 3 floors high and lots of steps to climb. If you are okay climbing stairs for a few days, hotel may work well for you.

Beware do not stay here, I arrived at the hotel on 06/17 at around 3p my room was not ready and the front desk girl i recall her nsme was Angie told me there was a storage room avilable and I can keep my luggage there. All my suitcases had TSA approved locks and since I was going to leave the hotel I took my daughter suitcase lock off to place it on my carry on back pack . So we decided to leave the luggage in the storage room, when I arrived back to the hotel later thay eveing , my family luggage was placed in my room but a staff member at the hotel changed my daughter's suitcase, the suitcase they place in my room had no airport tag, how ironic is that? I spoke with the property manager Ricardo over the phone and he tried to tell me my suitcase was switch at the airport. Well no that was not the case. Per Angie she and the housekeeper had access to the keys in the storage room but the housekeeper was not avilable. I contacted the police and informed them what had occurred and they themselves informed me to speak with property manager in person since there was no CCTV in the storage room and the hotel is a not providing good business. I checked out on 06/18, and was not able to speak to Ricardo in person besides via whatsapp and was told I would recieved a refund which I did not. Long story short do not stay at this hotel, the staff pretend to be nice but either Angie or the housekeeper is a theif since they have access to the stirage keys! Beware! If you see hiking backpacks in the storage room be careful they make it seem like they are holding luggage and are just placed there for show and tell. I should have not remove the lock from my daughter's suitcase but who would have thought they will take a child suitcase. Nothing but thieves!

Stayed here for one night after getting off the plane. Wanted somewhere low price and close to the action before I got an Airbnb. Room was decent and staff helpful. Can be noisy if you're facing the river because of traffic. Vegetarian restaurant inside.

The place is the best location you can be in Guayaquil, safe and close to the most of the attractions. The rooms are clean and with AC, nice breakfast served at the balcony facing the park. The staff are very focused on keeping their life busy and cheerful among them, they don't greet you, try to be nice or friendly, most of the time they look at the floor to avoid you, this is not exactly the type of environment you look for when you are a guest.

Pros: Inexpensive, good location, friendly and helpful staff, and good free breakfast. Con: It's clean but can be much cleaner.

Great hostal with friendly staff, nice balconies with view to the Malecon, super fast Internet & yummy free breakfast. The only thing missing is a kitchen for the guests. I had to beg every time to use the kitchen of the restaurant

I liked the place, like a small art gallery, the room it was duplex, comfortable bed!. The breakfast was so good, fruits, egg, coffee, tomato tree juice and a type of home made bread. Near by, there is the public library.

It's a hostle, not a four star hotel. This was a great hostle, accommodating when flights changed. The staff is so polite and there to help you with anything. What a great start to our time in Ecuador.

Staff is friendly and helpful! They had to wake me up at 3:00 so I could get to my appointment on time, and call a taxi to get me there so I didn't have the breakfast. Two things to improve: the floor in my room was very dirty - didn't like walking on it with bare feet. And there's a strange step-down, and I missed it and went head first into the bathroom door! It banged so hard I think I woke people up. EXCELLENT LOCATION!
