Definitely a five star beach!! Clean, expansive, picturesque, good for swimming, beach combing, sunbathing or exploring tidal pools and clambering over the rocks, this is a great place to visit. Sun cream and protective clothing highly recommended. If going by bus, please be forewarned that there is about a forty minute walk along a gravel road with no shade from the park entrance to the beach. Once at the beach there is a concession stand with some basic food items and beach umbrellas for rent.

I wouldn't look at photos of it if you haven't already. Let it's beauty take you by surprise. Here are some things you should know if you don't already: It's free to get in. They have parking but they don't allow you to bring certain things past a certain point. The bathrooms, showers and changing rooms charge you $1 to use. The staff is... overwhelmed sometimes. There are lots of tourist. Plan ahead. Get there early. Be patient.

Beautiful, pristine, white sand beach with gorgeous cliffs. You can walk the entire length of the beach. You cannot bring food into this park it is prohibited to smoke and bring any glass inside. You will have to lock everything in a locker before you go in that is food or drink related other than water. Remember this is the equator so the sun is very intense here remember to apply and re-apply sunscreen every 3 hours. Bring plenty of water to drink throughout the day. The riptide was very strong during January and we could not go very far into the ocean. The water was beautiful and they also have snorkeling.

Beautiful and clean . There is a place at the main entrance to buy water, ice cream, soft drinks and to rent a parasol. Nothing else. But is forbidden to take food, cans and bottles to the beach, staffs are going to check your backpacks .

Los Frailes Beach can be good or bad, depending on what you want in a beach stay. First, it's protected, before you can even hit the sandy shores you have to commit to a bag check, as you cannot bring a lot of things on it (but you can leave them in your car in the lot that is very close). Next, the sand is more of a dark, gritty type. Crabs live in good number on the beach. You can rent an umbrella from someone for pretty cheap. The waves can be rather choppy, not a good wading experience. Nice cliff type rocks offshore that are pretty to look at. Beach has a "closing' time of about 3pm or so, and it IS enforced. All in all, a picturesque beach that I enjoyed visiting, but probably won't return to.

The beach was amazing and isolated years ago when I visited, now it is another crowded beach. They ruin it

Without a doubt one of the most spectacular beaches in the World! Absolutely pristine and breathtaking. Great for relaxing, snorkeling or simply taking in the gorgeous views. It's a protected national park so expect bag checks from park rangers and a closing time of 3:00 PM.

First time visiting Manabi Ecuador and one of its many protected and beautiful beaches, Las Frailes beach… It was a beautiful experience.. the sand white and water was a light green and super clean…water was perfect for swimming.. the beach had nice cabanas for changing and super clean bathrooms for .25 cost and showers for $1.00… the drive there was amazing, it was a very high mountain and we could see the jungle on our left heading down to the coastal area.. they have many beautiful hotels with very fair prices nearby.. It was an Amazingly Beautiful experience! 😊

Very beautiful beach! Lots of colourful fish by the rocks, we bought some very bad quality googles that did not work for $5, so don't do that! Lots of cool crabs too!
