Great place to stay !!! First of all all the covid protocols have been followed and hotel is super clean, and recently refubrished. Definitely would recomend it during pandemic. Hotel is strategically situated overlooking a busy city square just foot steps from hearth of historic center. Building itself is piece of art with balcony overlooking square and beautiful garden in the back. The common areas include reading/hanging out lightroom overlooking garden. Staying here made us feel so much like at home I wish we have spent all the time in hotel :-) Breakfast is healthy, with a lot of fruit variety and yeah you could probably skip lunch :-) Staff super professional, speaking good english and also readily avaiable to help with various arangments (transport, tours etc). Hidden gem definitely, staying here will make you vacation special!!!

My husband and I began our amazing trip to Ecuador by staying in this beautiful hotel in August this year. The accommodations were amazing, from the cleanliness of the room, to the delicious breakfast, as well as the record player with an array of choices, and of course, the breathless view. The location was perfect in order to explore the beautiful city. This was a treat and we feel so lucky to have stayed in this wonderful place. Thank you for having us!

Very friendly, helpful, and genuine staff! The hotel is beautiful, and very clean. Breakfast is included, and is very nicely prepared. Fresh fruit, fresh juice, lovely eggs and coffee. Everything has exceeded my expectations.

Hotel Casona 1914 is very accommodating hotel! Great service, friendly and responsive staff. Our room was so cozy and cute and very comfortable. The bed is especially comfortable! We had a late night departure to go back home, and the hotel allowed us to stay in our room at no additional cost until our taxi picked us up to take us to the airport. Exceptional customer service. I highly recommend this hotel!

During my week-long stay in Quito I discovered a hidden gem – a charming boutique hotel that added a special touch to my experience. The ambiance was inviting, with thoughtful details that made it feel like a home away from home. The staff went beyond friendliness; they were genuinely attentive and made sure every aspect of my stay was memorable. The location struck a perfect balance, offering easy access to Quito's attractions while providing a serene retreat. What truly stood out was the culinary experience; the hotel's unique take on local cuisine added a delightful twist to my stay. Overall, it was a special and memorable week, and I wholeheartedly recommend this boutique hotel for a distinctive stay in Quito.

Hotel Casona 1914 was a memorable stop in Ecuador. The accommodations were excellent. The breakfast delicious. But by far the best part was the staff, in particular, Ricardo and David. 5 stars!

The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, they were very helpful with my inquiries and with getting around, restaurant recommendations, and everything I needed. The place was beautiful, clean and so elegant. I felt like this was a great welcome for my first night in Quito. The breakfast was absolutely lovely as well.

Beautiful hotel. Safe and secure. Comfortable. Clean rooms, clean space. Very friendly and attentive staff. The breakfast and service was great! Our flight out of Quito was not until 8 PM and the hotel let us keep one room all day to remain in until we had to depart. It’s been a wonderful experience. I would recommend 100%. It was a lovely experience and beautiful accommodations.

This hotel was better than anything I could have expected. Diego and David were extremely accommodating and provided great assistance in everything from getting from the airport to helping organize a personal driver for day trips from Quito. The original beauty of the architecture is balanced with the modern updates, such as the great bathroom and clawfoot tub. The breakfasts were the best included ones I've had at a hotel. Dinner does need to be arranged ahead of time but is definitely a treat. The great hospitality, wonderful building, and delicious food make it a great place to stay. We will definitely be staying here from now on when we travel to Quito.

I stayed here in March 2022. This is a beautiful space. My room had a space heater which I appreciated, a wardrobe, a nice shower, and bathtub! I loved the tub. My taxis had difficulties finding the hotel both times that I took one. I communicated with the hotel directly through WhatsApp which was nice. The staff was so helpful with any questions and always a text message away. I had a massage here that left more to be desired. I was able to walk into Independence Square from the hotel but at night I was advised to take a taxi back to the hotel and not walk. My room had windows but the windows faced directly into the interior and not outside. Although during the booking process my room had large windows to the outside and different configuration. I got in so late from an international flight and didn’t have the mental capacity to bring it up to change rooms so I stuck with the room I was given. From inside my room I could hear people when they walked in front of my room and when people were talking near the room. That made it hard to sleep. Breakfast in the morning was lovely. I wandered into a room with coffee and tea and someone came to take my egg order. The people and beautiful building really make this place. Also, no elevator, just stairs so pack light.

Diego and his staff are beyond wonderful! From setting us up for a walking tour, to arranging taxis when we needed them, to letting us use a room on our last day so we didn't have to spend hours at the airport. Delicious breakfasts to boot!

This place is amazing! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! The rooms, food, and amenities are best I’ve had during my three weeks in Ecuador. However, by far, the best part of this hotel is the staff. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home. If you are visiting Quito, book your stay here. You won’t regret it.

We stayed at Hotel Casona 1914, July 7th, and it is a very beautiful, quaint boutique hotel. Upon entering our luxury King room, we were greeted with sounds of soft whiskey Blues tunes daily, with nice scented flowers and our room was very spacious, clean, beautifully decorated with modern furniture and a warm, inviting feel. Our room had a balcony with breathtaking views overlooking the city and Basillica Cathedral. The mattress and bedding was very comfortable, and the rain shower head felt very rejuvenating. All the staff are very friendly, accommodating and welcoming, which made me feel at home. Diego was extremely helpful, patient, and kind, he had the chef to prepare dinner for my husband and me when we arrived at the hotel after 11pm. The restaurant closed at 9pm, but they still prepared a very delicious hot meal of our choice. Our room toiletries were always replenished daily and our room was immaculate. We were served a scrumptious breakfast daily 😋 with a varierty of exotic fruits grown in Ecuador. I definitely recommend this boutique hotel (you won't be disappointed), it's very affordable, better than a 5 star rating, the hotel is located within walking distance to city center, safe area, very quiet hotel with sound proof walls, great staff, rooms look brand new and I will stay here again.. Lastly, I read every review prior to booking our reservation and every review was accurate. See images of our hotel room, our meals prepared by staff at the hotel restaurant, terrace and hotel view from 2nd floor. Thank you to the entire staff for making our stay at Hotel Casona 1914, a very enjoyable comfortable, classy experience.

Very beautiful hotel. Not 5 star review, just because of our room feel a bit cold. I have to sleep with my sock on. The window is quiet thin and no heating system and general problem in Quito I supposed. But apart from that, Thanks to Damien for his helps arranging the pick up, the trips, also suggestion of some restaurants and places to visits. Our highlight was the garden at the back and otto- the dog. See u next time.

Fantastic and very charming hotel! The hotel is in an excellent location in walking distance to the old town of Quito, and itself has a very nice charm. It's team is very helpful and incredibly proactive in helping organize tours, taxis, and restaurant visits. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast in the morning.

Wow what a beautiful hotel! We arrived late on a flight and they stayed up waiting for us and helped out with everything. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and the breakfast is divine. The rooms are cosy and large - showers great. I wish I could’ve stayed longer to use the amazing bath tub! Absolutely love this hotel in Quito. Highly recommend.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The owner, Diego, showed the highest standards of hospitality! From his warm welcome at the door until the equally warm goodbye. And everything in between, including offering to wash my dirty shoes after a hike, accommodating for my breakfast requests and even offering a free dinner (I skipped breakfast because of an early flight). The place is also perfectly clean and ideally located in the heart of Quito. Couldn’t have wished for any better! Definitely coming back!!

This is one of the best places I’ve ever stayed and I would highly recommend it! The attention to detail in hospitality was amazing and we felt like part of the family from the moment we arrived . It is also located in a great location near to the colonial area, as well as Fochs. Can’t wait to go back and stay there again! The daily breakfast was outstanding with different fresh fruits and juices each day. Also, I’m a bit of a clean freak, and the cleanliness of rooms , dining rooms, etc exceeded my expectations .This will definitely be the place that I stay when I go back to Quito

Definitely with the Stay! I strongly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone coming to Quito that appreciates the boutique hotel experience over the boring, Mega chain hotels. Diego was so kind and extremely helpful prior to my arrival with arranging airport transfers and more importantly assisting me in getting a Covid-19 test before leaving for the Galápagos Islands. Diego and his family were so gracious and hard working. I truly felt like a friend of the family staying in this beautiful hotel. It is an easy walk to the Centro Historico (Old Town) of Quito as well as to the impressive Basilica just up the hill. I will be returning on my way back home from the Galápagos for one night (when I should just stay at the airport hotel) because of how much I enjoyed my stay! Book directly with the hotel as I know they appreciate it.

My family of 5 and I stayed here in July of 2021. We stayed in the Orchid room with a King and two twin beds. I cannot recommend this place enough. This is an old colonial home that has been transformed into a boutique hotel within the last 3 years. Ask the owners about the history of the hotel and they will humbly describe how they sacrificed and sold most of their possessions to buy and refurbish this hotel. Since it has been recently renovated, this means that you will enjoy many new features not found in older hotels by the Old Center. For example, you will find new showers with constant hot water and wonderfully comfortable beds. You will be greeted by Diego and his family who run the hotel. They will be very attentive to try to make sure your stay is as special as possible. Their breakfast was big \, serving up local fruits, eggs, coffee, turkey, croissants, and hot chocolate for the kids. The family has a nice dog who lives in the back of the hotel is very, very friendly (he does not come inside the hotel at all). Otto (the dog’s name) might have been one of the highlights of my kid’s stay in Quito. The location of the hotel is close to the Old City. It is a 5-minute walk to La Basilica (the Gothic church) and a 10-minute walk to the major plazas. I am not sure if this was because of the pandemic or not, but everything by the hotel closed by around 7 or 8 pm every night. Our hotel hosts recommended not walking by the old city at night because it might not be safe. We were told that New Quito had more restaurants and bars that were open later at night. The Wi-Fi at the location was fast and none of our family had issues connecting all our devices. If staying close to the old city, at a place with amazing hospitality is what you are looking for, look no further. This is your place.

Located in one of the best-preserved colonial centers, this is a converted Colonial house, hidden away, a truly gem. Starting with a check in online and with a welcome letter where is written all the details of the house, let you feel as their unique guest. This is a family business and you can feel their touch, you wake up with a tasty breakfast, with their smiles ready to answer all your questions, ready to be at your service. I was totally impressed of all the details they gave to la casona, this is an impressive house with a lot of history. Otto's the dog of the house will make you feel that you are not in a hotel... even when you will receive all the luxury as a 5 starts hotel. We keep kosher standards for food, so the owner kindly let us cooked an Israeli dinner on our first night, and we did a hafla there, amazing truly amazing. To Diego and all his family, tks so much for gave us such a great experience, I highly recommend it.
