Maharaja Swathi Thirunal Palace Museum🏯 or Puthen Malika or Kuthira Malika, built in 1840's is situated 1.6km from 🚈Trivandrum Central Railway Station. The palace is made from teakwood, rosewood, marble, and granite. The roof of the palace is made of wood and 42 beams support the carved patterns. The floor inside the palace is made of egg whites, charcoal, and limestone, which make it cold and smooth even in hot weather conditions. Although 80 rooms are there in the palace, only 20 are open for visitors. A guided tour is available inside the palace🙂. The palace has been visualized in many Malayalam films too📽...

Located beside the padmanabhaswamy temple and very old palace. If you are an history enthusiast you should definitely visit this. The fine wooden carvings and their architecture is just awesome. There is a picture gallery too beside it which accommodates pictures from royal family, life back then and many famous personalities.

Kuthiramalika(Mansion of horses) palace was built by Maharaja Swathi Thirunal Ramavarma. It is located close to Padmanabhaswamy temple. The paintings and valuable collections of the Royal Family is displayed in the palace. The architecture is really magnificent, the palace is an example for traditional Kerala architecture. There are almost 80 rooms inside the palace but only 20 rooms are open for public.Inside the palace you can walk through passages and paths to the second place. Kuthiramalika is the venue for Swathi sangeethotsavam conducted every year. Photography is not allowed inside the palace, but you can pay for a camera ticket for the outside and ground.

Wonderful place with beautiful horse carvings. From out side the full windows wall blocks looks like horse jumping. You will surely feel nostalgic about an era gone by and you are kind of part of it. Entry fee is just Rs.70/- per person. And yeah parking is available inside the palace. If you are lucky you can even see the current Queen. There are guides who will explain you the story behind each spot.

The place is a good place where we can see Chinese porcelain and Many other valuables gifted to the travancore kings. The craftsmanship and the architecture is rich with many iconic and valuable places. It's a pity that the photography is limited to the outside of the palace only.

This palace is a museum, you can see the old stuffs used by maharaja of Kerala. This palace is situated near to Sree Padmanabha Swami temple. There’s fees for entering in to the palace. And once we entered there’s guide he’ll give us all the details of stuffs. There is also photo gallery of old Maharajas. it’s good place to visit with family and friends. The only problem is they won’t allow us to take photos inside the palace. As they won’t allow us to take photos I don’t have any photo of inside. Everyone should visit there !!

Situated in West fort near Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple ,was built by Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma more than 200 years ago.Known as 'Mansion of Horses' , this palace elegantly displays Kerala architecture with beautiful and intricate wooden carved ceilings , pillared verandas and courtyards . Only 20 of the 80 rooms—which have been transformed into a museum—are accessible to tourists. It is accessible during the day from 9 am to 12:45 pm and in the evening from 2 to 4:45 pm with an admission ticket that includes the tour. The museum is home to numerous royal family heirlooms and antiquities from countries like Greece, Belgium, and China. The Sree Chitralayam art gallery, which is close to the palace grounds, offers a sizable collection of images and artwork that transports us back in time 200 years.

Kuthiramalika (lit. Mansion of horses) is a palace built by Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma on the south-eastern side of Padmanabhaswamy temple, Thiruvananthapuram. This palace was built in the 1840s. The construction of the palace was completed by 5000 Vishwabrahmins in four years. The palace gets its name from the 122 horses that are carved into the wooden wall brackets that support the southern roof.

The palace is built by Swathi Thirunal. You can see horse shapes in the palace so that it got its name -kuthiramalika meaning horse palace. Placed near city centre. Don't miss to visit if you have one hour to be spent in Trivandrum.
