Good in terms of cleanliness. Battery car service is available at free of cost. Help desk is there to help people with their queries. Couple of ATMs also available. Wheel chairs can be availed from the station master. Digital sign boards have been placed recently with coach positions and Train number shown within. This would definitely avoid choas that used to happen before while boarding the trains. AC waiting hall is functioning. There is a waiting hall for reserved passengers as well with charging ports and rest room facilities. The new multi level two wheeler parking under smart city scheme is a value addition to the railway station. They charge ₹15 per day for 2 wheelers.

Easily one of the best railway station service provided in Tamil Nadu. It was the unique place where the bus stand and railway station was walk-able distance. The station has a waiting room which is charged on the hourly basis and maintained well. It has good drinking water services.

Tirunelveli railway station is a junction point for tenkasi and tiruchendhur. The main line connects madurai and nagarkovil. From here tiruchendhur has better connectivity as express & passenger trains are started from 6 & 7 AM. It has 5 platforms. Platforms are well maintained. Waiting hall for upper class people is provided in Platform 1. Plenty of snack stalls are available on each platform.

The main bus station was relocated from Palayankottai near Tirunelveli Junction to Veinthankulam near Perumalpuram in 2003. A large network of interstate and intrastate buses ply to various destinations. There is a good co-existence of both private and public transport networks in the city round the clock. The Tirunelveli Division of the TNSTC (Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation) serves the district's road transport needs with a string of local and Mofussil services. Tamil Nadu's State Express Bus Corporation (SETC) operates express services to Chennai,[1] Bengaluru, Salem, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Erode, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Chidambaram, Cuddalore, Puducherry, Viluppuram, Tirupati, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Ernakulam, Udagamandalam, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Marthandam, etc. The Kerala State Road transport Corporation(KSRTC) operates buses to Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alapuzzha, Ernakulam, etc. There are Omni Buses running to Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore. Omni buses run as Inter-city Buses also. The New Bus Stand at Veinthankulam called Bharat Ratna Dr. M.G.R Bus Stand is the main Mofossil Bus Terminal. The Junction Periyar Old Bus Stand near Tirunelveli Junction at Palayankottai is called Junction Periyar Old Bus Stand, this bus station serves as the main Intra-city Bus Terminal. This bus station also serves as the Omni Bus Stand also. Some buses due to traffic in and around the bus stand, operate on the North and South Bypass roads. The Tirunelveli City Municipal Corporation is planning to build a new and larger Omni bus terminus in front of the Moffosil bus terminus. The Central Government under Smart City project in going to build a swanky new bus stand in place of the Tirunelveli Junction Periyar Old bus stand. Palayankottai Bus Stand is also an important Intra-city bus terminal.

They collect money from passenger who come by car to get dropped. It's not good. So somebody who is responsible in railways take care.

My native and it's an emblem of Tirunelveli city. Maintained neat and clean. Service is not up to the mark. Most of the time while asking the train timings and details, service centre people get irritated. Could be helpful to the poor people who are new to the station and not have that much knowledge about the timing details.

A Neat and Clean and sufficiently maintained Station. It has Paid AC waiting Hall as well as ordinary waiting Hall. The Dormitory and Retiring Rooms are few and have to wait even after booking online. Train No and Coach Position Signboards in the main platforms are in place and working well. Outside the Station, it's Chaos and needs monitoring of vehicle Parking.

This is one of the busiest station and no coach indicator available. From childhood seeing this platform 2 doesn't have this facility it becomes difficult for passengers to run with our luggages once train reached station.. NCJ to CSMT experienced it. Hope the railway will implement this soon.

Good Place. One thing I am not sure about is why 20rs token is required if the cab comes to pick up in new building, is the railway station road leased to private company or is it a govt policy?

It's better to come much earlier due to lot of congestion outside the station. Smart City development activities happening around the station, no proper traffic diversion etc kills your time. Station is well maintained. Passenger help desk available near the entrance to the platform.
