An amazing experience to have food from the Rice Boat at Taj Malabar, Kochi. The food were so delicious and Yummy. Very attentive and pleasing staff. A must visit destination for those who love food.

Mouthwatering food, and amazing service with a view. The kallappam ( കല്ലപ്പം) was soo fluffy and soft and the fish was very fresh and delicious. Service and recommendations by Mr Jomon was exemplary!

Riceboat in Taj, Cochin. Nice place and good ambiance. The taste of the dishes were so good. I went for buffet, where the dishes were so less. Variety of the dishes were less but the quality and taste of the dish is awesome.

We choose rice boat to have dinner on our wedding anniversary after checking multiple reviews. We booked a table for buffet dinner. After reaching there, we met the restaurant supervisor, Mr. Ahilan, who realised it was a special occasion for us. He helped us in coming up with a set menu as we wanted to have few things out of the buffet menu. He sent us out of the restaurant saying he need some time to get ready with the menu. When we came back after exploring the beautiful resort, he surprised us with a special table and was ready with a candle light dinner for us!!! Food was amazing! More than food, I’ll rate the overall experience I got on the special occasion. The staff made us feel delighted on our first wedding anniversary… Thank you Ahilan!

Absolutely delicious! I was a bit skeptical at first since it’s at the hotel resort and I tend to appreciate proper local restaurants much more, but no doubt Rice Boat is definitely fantastic authentic Kerala cuisine. We tried their tasting menu and every single menus from starter to desert are so smooth and just melt in the mouth! Their service and restaurant staffs are very friendly and informative. Mr Ahilan especially is very knowledgeable on explaining everything. Very Well done 👍🏻

Went here to celebrate a family event. The restaurant has an amazing ambience (sad that they don’t open early to see the sunset). The place is small with may be 7-9tables. I suggest to make a reservation. Akhilan was fantastic and the service was exceptional. We got the Taste of Kerala tasting menu - it was decent. Nothing stood out as exceptional. The starters were good and had good flavor. The main course was a bit of disappointment. Appam and Parota were good and fish curry was also decent. The dessert was coconut soufflé which was good but the 3 way cardamom had an overpowering cardamom smell. The prices are not cheap and the taste and flavor was not bold enough for a Taj restaurant. I was a tad bit disappointed with the food. Overall a great place to celebrate special events.

The food was awesome. We had the tasting menu and their prawns and squid were the highlight of the dinner. It was delicious. We also had two desserts with their brownie and ice cream and coconut special dessert. We recommend the place and the view from the restaurant as well.

Great place if you want to experience fine dining with a lovely view of the water/sea. We went just before the monsoon season was in full swing and got a chance to witness a group of playful dolphins from our table window. Food is exceptional and service is excellent. They recommend items from the menu based on your taste and preferences and are happy to customise if need be. Everything that we tried was delicious!

This is a place where emotion converges with food. I had my anniversary lunch here and there is no better place I would have rather spent an afternoon with my family. No need to comment on the food, ambience, hospitality, etc as it is as expected from any of the Taj group(astounding in other words). One of the best restaurant I have ever been to. The view is really great. The seafood platter was just mouth watering. The appam is a must to try. Thanks to Ahilan and others for their great service. And do make sure to have a taste of their lovely desserts.

This was One of the best meals I have ever had in Kerala. We were a group of 16, @and did a pre-planned menu for lunch. We had multiple staff to help us throughout the lunch, and every single item we had was mind blowing. I will definitely visit again every time I visit kochi.

Amazing food and location, and even more amazing service. We had the Taste of Kerala tasting menu and every bite was great! It was our last meal on our Kerala trip, but by far the best we had! Worth it 100%!

I recommend going here. The restaurant is right at the very end if the taj hotel, you walk through it. You have a nice view in the river. I recommend securing a table a few days/a week in advance. As there is only limited space and it is very popular. The server was extremely helpful and can be trusted in his recommendations. Ahilan was the best host/server we ever had in India. It was an absolute pleasure to eat here because he made the whole evening even more enjoyable. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was fantastic. We had a few cocktails which were good. Best to tell how you like them. The restaurant is beautiful. The table was set up with flowers and a nice candle. Gorgeous plates. I would say it is fine dining. We had the kerala menu - the crab soup (yummy!!!) and red snapper were my favourites. Had the best paratta in kerala here. Naan garlic was delicious. Toilets were clean ans with toilet paper. So I absolutely recommend going here!

We were in Taj Malabar for 4 days. On the last day we visited The Rice Boat restaurant for lunch for my wife’s birthday. We tried their Kerala Tasting menu and we mind blown with taste and service. A special thanks to Akhilan for looking after us during the lunch. He did make my wife’s birthday special. Will definitely visit again and recommend this place to sea food lovers

I had lunch at Rice Boat along with my family, during my stay at Taj Malabar, Kochi. The entire experience was awesome. The view, staff, amazing yummy seafood. Try their ‘Taste of Kerala’ platter containing Tiger Prawns, Fish Polichathu, Fish Moilee, Squid, Fish Fry. The whole staff were great and went out of their way to make us comfortable including my toddler son. A special mention to Mr. Akhilan, who looked after us well. Thank you. A must visit place if you are in Kochi or staying at Taj Malabar.

Delicious food. Went here with my wife to try some Kerala fish and seafood. We were recommended to try the tasting menu and the spice levels were adapted to suit our personal tolerances. The food was wonderful. My personal favourite was the fish curry which was deliciously coconutty and served with various fresh breads.

The best grilled seafood and beef buffet in southern India! Great ambience - we had dinner on the patio, by the water.

The complete Rice boat . Firstly the food taste was superb and the currys are so good i prefer the prawn mango curry that was in full swing and the scallops also I enjoyed too much and the chefs are awesome and very friendly to talking especially shaji chef and vishnu chef and the service team highly appreciated for their work they are also so close to us …

Awesome place , must visit for any seafood lover. Balanced taste of Kerala cuisines all at your doorstep . Sea food platter really opens your taste buds and hence reminiscing the Malayalees comfort home food ! Special shout-out to Mr. Eldho for making our day special .

Absolutely fantastic. So tranquil. Beautiful scenery, and lovely food served on board. Fabulous wildlife, lots of different birds, and we were lucky enough to see a snake swimming in the water and an otter playing on the river bank. Perfect day.

How about having Malabar food sitting in a house boat atmosphere watching the boats go by in the backwaters. This is the house boat experience. But it is closed due to the Covid lockdown. Earlier it used to have a good crowd. But some how I am not a fan of the Taj food here. I never liked the taste especially the sea food. The local hotels in fort Kochi or in mattancherry are better. There is a ferry close by which can take you there.

We were staying at Taj Malabar and decided to have lunch from Rice Boat. We had the "Kerala Tasting Menu". The food was excellent! The starters were tiger prawns & calamari, followed by a coconut+crab soup. For main course, we had fish polichathe, fish fry and prawns curry with appam and Kerala parotta for bread. For dessert, we had coconut souffle with jaggery and ice-cream. We also tried 3 of their cocktails (which were also excellent). To say we were blown away is an understatement, every single item was really good and authentic. The staff were also very friendly and polite esp Ahilan who was very entertaining and made our lunch very memorable.

We were in Kerala this week and wanted to celebrate 50th Birthday of a close friend. Managed to speak to Agilan at Rice Boat who organised a sumptuous lunch along with bottles of wine 🍷and a Birthday cake 🎂 Excellent seafood, appam, Kerala parotta, and a great desert. Thank you Agilan for taking care of us.

The ambience was amazing. Breezy and close to the waters. We went for Saturday lunch and the buffet was delicious. Only drawback was the starters was all mostly salads, they did not have a crispy dish. The parota and naan were super soft. The spread was limited yet palatable. Price was reasonable

Tried the item named 'Taste of Kerala', and ordered a portion of Lobster with it. Both great. Note that most of the items are made with masala. The staff are well spoken and attentive.

+ Excellent for a long relaxed dinner, & offers some of the best seafood around! The staff is trademark-Taj(!) friendly, and make you feel welcome, any time. Rajeev, Akhilan & team took excellent care of us - Thank you, folks!! - Can get a little crowded & then it starts feeling like a pub!! :)
