Light house located near rock beach and Gandhi statue. Good to visit

Good place . Not in maintenance now.

Oldest ligthouse in Pondicherry which was built during 19th century by french rulers . Now Pondicherry government started renovating this Lighthouse yet to open for public for visiting. Initially they have started with oil lamps and laterally they have converted to electrical lamps.

Very well located and surrounding place is very neat and clean place right now it's under Maintenance. It's build in British time. Old lighthouse at the Rock Beach. The New Lighthouse is about 1.5km from this one.

You will not be allowed inside of this Rock beach old light house. But the evening view from the outside is also good to watch. And this light house is opposite to the Rock beach Mahatma Gandhi statue.

Awesome place to wander in Pondy

Built in the 19th century, the recently renovated old lighthouse is a prominent tourist attraction on the Promenade.

Do t know how the place is. But it is still closed for tourists. However if you are here you can always visit tbe eco beach just a few steps ahead along with entertainment park which houses many games and recreatioal activities..dint know for how long it will be sclosed fir tourist.

It's a nice lighthouse near Rock beach. I guess they repainted the whole thing and it looks as good as new now. Inside entry is not allowed so enjoy your view of the tower from outside.

This is the old light house situated on the rock beach . Renovation work in on progress . No tourists are allowed to go on the top but in future there may be a possibility to allow the tourists . This is will help both the government and tourists .

We didn't go inside this light house but this looked very beautiful. This is a white coloured tower exactly opposite to Rock Beach. This beach looks like Marine drive as you have place to sit and go to the beach as well. You get to collect mesmerizing shells not just here but everywhere in Pudhucherry beaches. It was fun to play in the salty water but it gets very sunny early in the morning as well this time in July too.
