My friends and I tried Renee's for the first time last Sunday after I had heard it recommended in another local restaurant. We were immediately greeting by Ms. Renee when we walked in the door! We took advantage of the buffet and had some of the best southern food.... truly first class. The fried chicken and bbq pork chops were delicious. I truly don't have words for the candied yams! The pecan pie was incredible! It will not be the last time I enjoy Ms. Renee hospitality and excellent food!

We have been there twice before but my fiancée a Chef and Culinary educator has the opportunity to get to know Renee. When things slowed down she came and set at our table discussing her son's journey. As a gay couple there are Christian establishments they would rather not serve us. I've never been forced to sit at a black only table. But you understand by conversations around you when you are "out of place". On Mother's Sunday Renee's hospitality made is miss our deciest mother. Almost everyone at our table grew up in the church so we loved hearing the sermon and church choir played in the background. Many of us went to Christian schools. So this was a dinning experience and lots of wonderful memories. If you haven been to Renee's for true soul food you need to grab your Momma and go!

I had a good experience. I went on a Sunday over a holiday weekend. The place was packed, but the staff could keep the all-you-can-eat buffet line flowing quickly. The slowdown was because of the many delicious-looking choices of meats and sides. Watching pans full of golden fried chicken disappear in seconds while you nervously looked from the line was torture. Luckily, when I made it to the head of the line and got a breast and wing, it did not disappoint.

Initially I wanted to give it a 1 because coming from out of town, we called to ask about the buffet that was advertised on google. The lady was rude and said no buffet. Thats fine, we stopped anyways. Obviously, our waitress was the same lady who answered the phone. We were the only ones in there at lunch time, and apparently we were an inconvenience to her day. Any question we asked (Even for a refill after being empty) was met with abrasiveness and a sigh. The higher rating came from the quality of food - it was really good, no complaints, and also because I dislike leaving bad reviews for small businesses. Only after a long wait for food (again, thats fine, it was good), and other people came in, did her demeanor improve slightly, because it seemed the other customers knew her. While we were there, one lady did come in and wait to be acknowledged, but no one came from the back. She asked if they hadn't put their buffet out yet to us, and we informed her we were told there was no buffet, so she left without anyone who works there seeing her. I would just suggest being friendlier to guests. A smile and softer tone goes a long way and makes empty glasses and slow service easier to overlook. IF we pass through again, we will probably give you another try.

Some of the best food around. A real hidden gem in Hawkinsville. Every Sunday they have all you can eat Buffett or you can't get it to go by the pound. Everyone is so friendly and nice.

The waitress was a little icy for no apparent reason, but the food was good. Despite the waitress behavior, I recommend this restaurant. The owner is very kind.

Food was cooked to order, really good fried chicken, all the food was good, we will definitely stop by again while in town the next time. The lady up front, our waitress, seemed moody/cold but once you got to talking with her, I guess she lightened up a bit. And google is a bit misleading.. No buffet on Saturday's

I use to come here all the time. I haven't had the chance to visit recently. The food and service was always on point. The best soul food in Georgia, hands down.

Food was amazing. Customer Service was awesome. Will definitely come back.

If you like Soul Food then you might enjoy the food. I didnt eat from the buffet, but ordered from the menu. Mac and cheese was a bland, but fried shrimp were good. The owner is nice. I would give another chance and try something different to support

Good southern food, but it was very difficult to get a chicken breast. Every time I went to the buffet, all they had was legs.
