Super cool authentic Mexican restaurant with a huge outdoor patio. Food is amazing service is good you will stand in line most days. When I was there there about 22 people in line to order their food. There is a bar around the side that you can get a drink and then wait in line which a lot of people were doing. Love this place it's on the list

El Tesoro is a triple threat on my list: Good Mexican, great cheap eats and awesome breakfast items. The drinks are stiff, the salsa is hot and the food is worth the wait. As an Angeleno, I take my Mexican seriously. The all-outdoor seating is perfect in today’s social distancing society. Added bonus? Dogs are allowed so there’s plenty of pups to fawn over and their cantina area is 21+. El Tesoro is a neighborhood gem that I will definitely return to.

Best. Marg. Ever. The pineapple mezcal margarita is absurdly good, possibly the best marg I’ve ever had. The tacos were delicious and worth the price. More adventurous eaters check out the roasted crickets. There is always a crazy long line on the weekend, but this is a counter order restaurant, so once you get through that initial line things move quickly. There is a separate place to order drinks, so if you’re just looking to get your drink on you can jump straight to that. All seating is outside AND there is a 21+ area for those who don’t have kids and don’t want to deal with other people’s kids *hand bolts up quick af. Parking is free. There is a small lot and plenty of street parking.

Great atmosphere. Outside seating. 21+ area. Umbrellas at the tables. A few games outside. Easy ordering, in line first then seated. Water stations throughout outside. 3 unisex restroom single stalls. Had to clean table myself by pouring water and the table. Ordered birria tacos. Tacos were great. Didn’t like the birria taco sauce, it tasted like grease. They had specials. Easy ordering from the bar without having to get back in line, they take appetizer orders as well, all orders you’ll have to get back in line. Good drinks. Nice location. Great spot. I’ll go back.

Really good Mexican food! We ordered tacos and Mexican Pizza. The Mexican Pizza is so so yummy and huge so make sure to share with the table. We also ordered strawberry daiquiris that were very good! Make sure to eat your food there so that you can enjoy their outside dining area.

This place definitely seems best during the warmer months. Although there is a heater inside the tent, it’s still quite cold, so we couldn’t really linger and take our time like we would during the warmer weather. The frontera (vegetarian) mulita was very tasty and filling. Their guac and queso are both great, although I found the chips to be a bit too salty. Their warm boozy drinks sound great, will have to try those next time.

This place lived up to 100% of the hype. We went on a weekend morning and got an assortment of the breakfast tacos, all were delicious. I also had the chicken mulita which ended up being my favorite of everything we ordered. The agua fresca was insanely good.

On a 43 degree day I can honestly say they have the best out door set up that I have ever "enjoyed" of course I went at lunch high noon so I got the highest sun and temperature of the day and the tents were cozy. Apparently it sits along a bike path of some sort that may connect to the beltline but after walk the entire beltline the summer of 2023 I'm not sure how you would get there so I'm assuming it's a neighborhood path. It was very near the school I was teaching at for the day so I walked there in less than eight mins. Very convenient and I'm sure others do it. They must make a killing from the apartments across the street from them Id never cook if I could eat that Barbacoa Burro everyday. It was so stuffed with meat, the other ingredients were there but you couldn't see them lol. I enjoyed the food and the water... But I did notice a bit of prejudice with the crowd they just simply chose to sit with ppl who looked like them...I was in the first accessible dining area All Alone during lunch rush which is hilariously typical of Atlanta pretentious racist. It makes perfec sense with this being a white neighborhood which gentrified the area. I certainly must have been a foreigner in 2024. I didn't like that, but it is certainly Not odd in Atlanta and it also is not the fault of the restaurant. Lastly, the prices are not likable $13 for a medium size burrito that I must eat Outside... is insane for Mexican food. I live by three Bodegas it's insane pricing trust me! Because of that I would only go here if in the area. But it may be a last choice since this area has many places to eat I wondered why other teachers at the school were opting for Chick FIL A, that may be totally why. Especially since the prices are Not comparable to any thing around. Sorry El Tesoro the party goers determine the vibe of the party not the venue. Atmosphere provided was great, but it's just not a great place to be. I like saying hi when encountered not avoided. Food was excellent, drink selection was excellent, The staff was indifferent and prompt offered no smiles... But the consumers were blahhhhhhhhh. I can go hear awesome music and vibe really well at any other Mexican restaurant there is no shortage of it in Atlanta. So it may be a hard pass next time. I will let the HOOD have their treasure to themselves.

Popped in on a sunny Sunday afternoon w/ my girls. Very cute vibe. Spacious outdoor only seating area. Decent drinks, delicious food. Family & pet friendly. Small parking lot, plenty of free street parking nearby. I definitely recommend n will return.

I love this place, food is amazing. This is a casual Mexican fusion place. They have a limited menu with all the Mexican street food with a twist. They only have outdoor seating. Parking can be tricky, need to find spots as this is in the residential area. Usually wait period is over 15-20 mins.

Transcendent. Some of the best tacos in atl and definitely the best in the neighborhood. Very cool vibe and tons of good seating with some very happy plants and great folks. Drinks are also top notch.

Our first time at El Tesoro’s, a heavy rain storm caused us to have to get our food to go. Which was great because even after traveling a good distance home- our food was still delicious. The food traveled so well that we went back three days later for Birria Taco Thursday! It did not disappoint! We also had their wings, which were also good. The entire staff is very nice and accommodating. The margarita’s were very good too- we had the skinny margarita’s.. They also have a great beer selection. It’s very clean and although the line gets long.. they move very quickly and the food comes out fast. We will definitely be back soon and tell our friends!

By far my favorite Mexican spot in Atlanta. The line to order can get long but the line for the bar is always short you so can enjoy a delicious margarita or two while you wait. The staff is some of the friendliest and most lighthearted I’ve met in Atlanta and they make the whole experience better. The food itself is fantastic, especially the burritos. Overall, this is basically exactly the type of place I love to spend a Saturday afternoon with friends.

The place was welcoming and nicely decorated. The atmosphere was great as well. For summer time there should be more fans for ventilation. The service was good, nothing special, place is pretty much self service. The food was good, one note is that the blue corn tortillas were thin and would break easily, that should be improved. Overall, good place and would come back

Great atmosphere, superb service and great food. We tried several types of tacos and drinks. I have to say that I was expecting the home made tortillas to be good and they were ok, turns out that the corn tortillas were the tastiest. The salsas were fantastic, the tamales were great, the drinks also great, the beer could have been colder. The green pork was the least tasty meat. I think their Carne asada was probably the best of their offerings. The services was amazing, everyone was friendly and made you feel welcomed. There are a lot of tables all around and an overflow area with picnic benches. It's a great experience, service, drinks, dessert, atmosphere 5 stars, food 4 stars.

Good food and nice environment with the outdoor dining. Had the shrimp and octopus taco and the pork chorizo mulita. Drank micheladas which are really good.

If you are looking for a great patio to drink margaritas and authentic Mexican food, this is a great choice! It’s located in Edgewood and a little hidden as its not located on a prominent busy street. A great hidden gem in Atlanta for sure!

Stopped in for a few beers and a quick bite to eat to-go, the man at the cash register was awesome. Spent around $70 here and the food was completely wrong and the portions small, I also had to pay for sauces that are ridiculously small… this was not a pleasant experience and I’m sad to say I called and asked for my original order and the boy who answered the phone said “we can refund you” when I just wanted to come and pick up the order I placed. Don’t know if we’ll be back.

Authentic & Relaxed. Service: 1/10. No one has a clue on how to run the POS system. Its either extremely complicated which contributes to the incredibly long lines or the staff just doesn’t really care. Either way there really is no customer service, its casual dining order in line, pick up food, grab drink and find a seat. Cleanliness: 6/10 use outhouse “bathroom” at your own risk. Dining in is basically a huge lush dirt gravel vegetable garden outback. Food: 9/10 see pics. After waiting over an hour the first time and still returning again in the rain a second time its safe to say the food is worth it and the drinks are amazing. They never seem to have the blue corn tortillas in stock but we’ll keep going back until they do. Ambiance: 5/10 Its pretty neutral. Folks go there for a good bite to eat, nothing pretentious. Just chill backyard hipster vibes with 90’s euro music wafting in the background. Absolutely zero guarantees on the parking situation so be prepared to hoof it.

The food here is so so good and filling. I love the mulitas they are delicious!! The prices are a bit higher than other Mexican places but the food is really worth it. I like the outdoor seating, especially in the warmer months.

Really great hidden gem in Decatur - Had the chicken tacos, rice, beans, and queso. Everything is incredible! Patio is huge and line was long but moved fast and we got our food really quick! Parked in the neighborhood nearby and walked to the restaurant. Can’t wait to return!

really amazing burritos!!! (Sadly lost some points because I didn't taste the chicken till I was more than half way done with it.) Other than that the food was SO good and filling. Service was quick & swift. I noticed the way they called out names when the order was done instead of the ticket numbers so my name was called a couple time before it was actually me. I thought it was kind of funny so I wasn't upset but it'd be nice to have a more orderly pick up system.

Amazing food and vibe. Great outdoor seating and honestly one of the best burritos I've ever had.

The food is 5 stars! Go there for the food and you will forget everything else. Dining-in is really dining outside - totally fine w that. The service is as good as can be expected from a walk-up and order spot. The lines are long but worth the wait. The drinks are good so enjoy one while you eat food w lots of flavor. Another suggestion is to over order… This is exceptional Mexican food that you will crave later on.

We tried El Tesoro for the first time after seeing its good rating on google, we were not disappointed! The 4.7 stars are well deserved, we got the chicken burrito, the chicken taco, and beef taco. The chicken taco was amazing. Also, the owner was so kind. Also, try the popsicles they are house made in the restaurant

Never a bad dinner here. Had the Birria Tacos on Thursday, and despite the longer than usual wait, I could not have been happier. Worth the wait. Worth the hot lines, especially when you can get a drink while waiting to order. All outdoor seating or to go. Try the Mulitas. Get the churros. Get it all.

Um... Best damn latin food around. I really can't say more. Burritos that make your mouth watering thinking about it. Specials as creative as authentic as the ingredients. The atmosphere is always vibrant. The drinks beg you to have more. Pro tip: order ahead if you can. This place is well loved! From the moment they open until close on the weekends the line is stretched around... And for good reason. The wait is worth every bite. Love the staff, the owners, and the dogs that are brought with their owners. Come here is you want a great evening with friends, by yourself, or a date.

Great vibes, wonderful food, good drinks. The patio is so nice and spacious. I ordered carne asada melitas, maduros con crema and a Paloma. All top notch! Will definitely return!

I really, really like El Tesoro. Yep, you'll likely have to wait in a long line; so get a margarita or a soda, relax, and chat with your group while you wait. Yep, you'll have to fetch your own water but it's unlimited and cold. Food tastes really, really good: everything that I've had. Carne asada is really, really tasty. Drinks are a bit pricey but really good and strong. If you like a mellow time outdoors with your friends, you'll probably really, really like El T.

Everything here is so good. We’ve now been multiple times and they’re very consistent. Burritos and Mulitas are delish. The flavors are heavenly. Fast take out, incredibly kind and interactive staff. Great outdoor seating. Just a total win.

so. dang. tasty. this spot is a ten minute walk from my place, so shame on me for never sticking it out and waiting in line. everything I ordered was delicious and the counter service was great. are my eyes bigger than my appetite? always. but I’m glad I got to try a few different items. the patio is a huge oasis in the middle of a dope neighborhood.

By far one of the best hidden gem taco spots in Atlanta. This place is not far off the beaten path and it’s nestled in such a cute laid back part of Atlanta. It’s reminiscent of someone’s Tias back yard and they’re serving up legit authentic tacos not alike anything you can get in these other taco spots. This place is no gimmicks , no thematic play on Mexican culture to make up for subpar foods, this food is legit. From the handmade masa tortillas to their chicharrones and elotes, you can just tell it is just made differently here. There’s no feeling of production, no feeling of inauthenticity. It just feels like I’m at my aunts and uncles and they’re feeding me like family does. They even have a secondary line for quicker orders next to their regular order line so if you go in a pair of two you can enjoy their mezcal margarita or Paloma while you wait in line to order. This place also has its own parking lot, though it’s not as robust as the queue should warrant, but there is ample street parking. Their outdoor patio area and seating is all self service and clean up is big boy and big girl rules. So come for excellent authentic food and stay for chill vibes and awesome outdoor area and strong drinks

Awesome venue for just hanging out with friends! All the food is amazing. Note, this place is super popular. It was Friday night - so we had to wait a decent bit for food, but it is well worth the wait! Can't wait to come back and try more menu items.
