Worth the trip from Atlanta. A flashback to those hazy days of the early 1970s when rock music blossomed. The sheer amount of memorabilia here boggles the mind.

all ABB fans should see this place! Tons of memorabilia and you can take as much time as you want! Self guided tour was great- and included a written clear explanation of what the displays contained. AND-pictures were ENCOURAGED! Loved it!

A true piece of rock and roll. What a great place to visit. The staff was amazing and friendly. The Memorabilia was truly a blessing to see with my own eyes. Give them a visit if you're passing through. If they're not open, I heard you could knock on the door and someone might potentially allow you in for a tour. Not sure but worth a shot. 😁

We loved this place. So much history. Did you know that Gregg and Cher's pool table is there covered with memorabilia? You can walk into the world-famous 7 head shower! Convenient parking, easy to find.

I was never a big Allman Brothers fan, but my wife is. When I found out it was in their former residence, a big Tudor-stye house, I was intrigued. It is a fascinating, intimate museum of this legendary band, filled with artifacts of a bygone Era which most can relate to in some way. Reading the letters, handwritten lyrics, and hearing their recorded voices in intimate conversations echoing through the rooms filled with their personal belongings and musical instruments was quite captivating.

This is a super cool place to check out. We aren't huge Allman Brothers Band fans so we kind of joked about the fact they had a Museum. We were not disappointed. My boyfriend plays guitar and he was so excited at how man they had on display. He was also surprised at how many they had open and not enclosed in glass cases. They had so many thing on display from their records and 9utfits they wore for shows to guitars and drums. They had a display of keys they took from hotels from their tours. They allow you to do a tour of the house on your own. They give you a sheet of paper with the numbered walls with a description of what you're looking at. The employees were super nice, the building was well kept and clean. They kid the grouds well landscaped and clean. It is a very cool thing to check out I definitely reccomend seeing this!

Great place to visit for fans of the Allman Brothers band. It was a bit hard to find (they need a bigger sign) but there is plenty of parking. Everyone who works there is great - so friendly and knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. Non-flash pics are allowed and I took many! Great little gift shop.

Fun place to spend a couple of hours. Fabulous large old home. Was easy to imagine the shenanigans those old walls witnessed. Downstairs is the museum type stuff, while upstairs is displayed as if the residents had just stepped out. Charming and filled with memories. Curator was a hoot and was so knowledgeable. Perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon. Well worth your pilgrimage.

Absolute master piece of ABB related memorabilia. Well thought out layout that's easy to view the history of the band. Very cool bits from other bands as well. Easy parking. Very well maintained grounds overall. An opportunity to see history the way it should be shown.

I'll tell you what, Macon is beautiful. My father showed me the Allman Brothers when I was a young man. Little did I know how much their music would inspire me. It was so much to take in, but a young man named Bane took me the rest of the way. It's tough to describe or quantify something that is emotionally attached, so I won't try to. May the music play forever, RIP Skydog.

Great day trip from Atlanta. You can complete the tour in about an hour. Afterwards, head over to the Rookery for a great burger and drinks.

This is my second visit, and there is so much to see,I know I saw things I didn't see last time. It feels like walking into a friend's house,so warm, and personal. One of my highlights was seeing hand written lyrics ,personal letters, and everything was in chronological order. Great attention to detail, everything beautifully displayed. A must see for any Allman Brothers fan

If you love the Allman Brothers then this is the place you need to visit! This home is packed with all kinds of memorabilia from the great Brothers' past along with some Gov't Mule items as well! It is a self-guided tour but you are given a sheet explaining what is in every room inside the house. Out back is a stage where performances are held throughout the year! If you are ever in the area and are interested in the history of the Allman Brothers, you definitely need to come here!

I have mixed feelings on this place. It it's very clean and there are alot of items to look at. Being in the house itself is pretty cool. I do wish there were more photos of them in the house, kinda like the one near the stairwell. There are a few. Maybe it is just me and I had higher expectations for the price of a self guided tour. It was not bad by any means. I just feel like I have gotten more for less at other places.

Great memories throughout the house. Lots of instruments and photos and rooms arranged like they might have been in the day. Happened to be live music on the lawn when we were there.

Visited the Big House museum, the home of the Allman Brothers band from 1970 to 1973 in Macon, Georgia. There was so much memorabilia to see and history regarding the group. We are fans of the Allman Brothers and have always enjoyed their music. Museum staff made you feel welcome and were very knowledgeable about the band. We really enjoyed our visit

I love the Allman Brothers so I thoroughly enjoyed visiting. The people who worked there were very knowledgeable and helpful. It was interesting to see all the old pictures of the band and to see how many really good musicians played with them and moved on to other successful musical endeavors. We spent about 2 hrs here because I read everything.

We were just passing through and thought "hey, this might be cool". I was wrong, it was awesome! Huge classic rock fan but had no idea about this place. It's beyond just a museum. So many stories of how the Allman brothers came to be. How they wrote songs in the kitchen and just jammed all over the place with their families all huddled into one house. Had a wonderful time.

Awesome place that was a former house rented by members of the Allman Brothers Band in the early 70's. Filled with memorabilia and artifacts including original art work, posters and their personal instruments from various stages in their career. Less then a couple of miles away is Rosehill cemetery where the members of the band are buried all in a fenced in plot.

I absolutely loved this museum. First off the guy at the front desk is exceptional! He was so friendly and good to my kids and I. It was so heartwarming knowing there are still good people in this world. It’s clean, easy to follow through the exhibits, and super interesting! We had a blast.

Second visit, I can’t say that it has changed much in 7 years though… except both Gregg and Butch have passed since then. Friendly And informative, a must see for any AAB junky. I recommend going to Rose Hill as well, though they really have let that place go…

I wanted to share the amazing experience we had , as a result of our new friend John! My husband and I flew from Toronto to Florida on Thursday- after many flight delays and arriving to a car that won’t start -we had a late start on our road trip to make it to the big house before closing! We only had one day and one shot at seeing this museum . We arrive close to closing- but we made it, we were so happy. John welcomed us gave us the most amazing experience - exceeded all expectations we had of the big house and southern hospitality. We reminisced about all the brothers concerts we had been to, how special this place is for us and John was just a really special part of that. The road goes on forever ! This place is special and worth the stop

What a pleasant trip to The Big House. Me and my children were welcome by the tour guide Kevin. Kevin was welcome, warm and knowledgeable. You could tell the genuine passion he has in telling the great stories and lives of the band members. Each room is packed with well cared artifacts that really showcases all the great years the Allman Brothers gifted to the world. I would say make it a trip if you love music and history. There is parking in the back of the house just look for the large gate with the mushroom on it. There is a gift shop as well so make sure you stop in to get your swag.

I've waited years to see The Big House, and it did not disappoint! I was a little apprehensive, thinking it might be rinky-dink, but it's pretty darned classy. Memorabilia is great stuff, not a lot of trashy things. The place has been thoroughly renovated, surely in much better shape than when Berry Oakley rented it in 1970. 🙂 Highly recommended 👍
