Came here while visiting Seattle for a few days. It was a Thursday evening, but it was only about half full. Dawn immediately greeted me and said to pick any table. She was extremely helpful in understanding the menu, giving recommendations, explaining the different oysters, and some insider tips. After hearing so many good recommendations, started off with the Chowder and Baguette while looking over the menu. Both came out within 5 minutes. As simple as both sound, they were both very good. The Chowder was full of thick pieces of the local Clams and vegetables. The broth had a very rich and creamy consistency. For the meal, ordered the Shucker's Dozen as wanted to try a variety of their oysters. Also, ordered the Whole Dungeness Crab after Dawn gave a very thorough description from them cracking the shells in all the right places for you and using the body shell for their "OMG" sauce. When the oysters came out first, she explained the 4 different types of oysters and what to expect with each type. They're also presented in the recommended order of eating them for the best experience. All the oysters were extremely fresh and looked great. I tried them with their different house vinegar & lemon sauce, house cocktail, and fresh horseradish. They were all good, but I preferred the combination of horseradish and cocktail sauce. The Dungeness crab came out and looked amazing. It was presented and plated perfectly, but also prepared just as described. Having it cracked in the right places made it so easy and more enjoyable to eat. Dawn also gave some additional tips on how to get the most crab with the least amount of mess. Large pieces of crab just slid out and tasted perfectly dipped in the sauce. Combining that with the baguette was a nice mix of tastes and textures. The sauce was good just dipping some bread in it and eating it like that. Overall, all the seafood was very fresh and tasty. Dawn's service skills were outstanding. It wasn't just the service with the food, but little extra things such as bringing a warm towel to take a break and cleanup during the meal, and even offering a hot cup of water just to keep my hands warm. She truly believed in the restaurant and the customer experience. Next time I'm in Seattle, will definitely come back.

Excellent fresh oysters, love the fresh radish too. Get the deviled eggs with the oysters on top, sounds strange but works well! Smoked oyster dip was awesome. Clams and brother go well with the baguette. Would come back for sure!

It was busy, but there were several seats available. It took a long time to be seated, and we weren't sure why the person who greeted us didn't seat us at the empty tables. Turns out they were her section. Food was delicious and fair priced. We especially liked the oysters, and thought it had a wide selection. Our server wasn't friendly, but other staff were. Overall the experience would have been 4* but there was a sneaky 18.9% service charge to a party of two that wasn't posted, as far as we could tell. I think it's unfair for staff and shady to not clearly post to customers before they dine. I would have preferred to pay higher prices than add on the service charge, which would result in a bigger tip for staff.

The oysters here are SO GOOD. Our server, Dawn, was incredible. Very knowledgeable about the food and the farmโ€“she walked us through each type of oyster, where it came from, the flavors, and the process of harvesting the oysters from Taylor Farm. Definitely get their signature Olympia! Incredible dining experience and food. A new fav.

Their oysters are fire! Not only the best in Seattle but the best I have tried across the States. They offer oysters from six different locations. I tried all of them. They are so fresh and delicious. House radish is a good companion to oysters. But be aware of the Tabasco sauce, it is ridiculously spicy. I added some on my fourth oyster, my lips were burned for almost 30 mins. Someone in the review said they offer $2.25 per oyster during happy hour, thatโ€™s not the case anymore. Oysters are still billed by menu price.

First time coming to Seattle and was told that we must have seafood, so the first meal was oysters and seafood platter. Everything was fresh. Really enjoyed the geoduck sashimi. The clam chowder was great too. Highly recommended!

The food was delicious. I thought the happy hour menu was too small, and the deals/discounts weren't that special. But the drinks and food were good, so I'm glad we tried it.

Great oysters and drinks! Happy hour offered great deals as well. Our server Victor made our experience so much better with his recommendations of unique oysters they provided. Victor also provided exceptional service so if youโ€™re lucky to have him you will not be disappointed!

Dawn (bartender) is awesome! Sheโ€™s fun, makes great menu recommendations (see: how to best eat geoduck), and sheโ€™s a fantastic bartender! Weโ€™re definitely coming back.

We came in at noon today and the hostess was very accommodating and friendly. We sat at the bar and immediately met Becky and she took superb care of us. Then later we met Louis who treated us just as wonderfully. The team here at Taylor Shellfish in Pioneer Square are awesome. And the food and drinks are amazing! We will back soon!

This is a highlight of Seattle! The oysters were incredibly fresh and house made clam chowder was just the right consistency with perfectly diced vegetables and clams. I'll be back every time I visit Seattle.

I normally don't write reviews but I had to take the time to share my experience at this location. The workers are incredibly helpful and kind. As a small family from Arizona we felt a bit out of our element but the workers at Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar made us feel welcomed and appreciated. They catered to our every request with a smile and showed immense amounts of patience throughout our delectable dinner. A specific thank you to Josh, our waiter, for an experience we won't ever forget. Please know your kindness and helpfulness is incredibly appreciated. You are one of a kind! Highly recommend this restaurant! High quality food and high quality service.

Taylor shellfish is the restaurant attached to the Taylor shellfish farm, and the quality of seafood here is amazing. The space near pioneer square is classic Seattle, tree lined street with exposed brick and a big comfortable bar. The menu focuses on oysters, clams, and small bites. All fantastic. We had the geoduck sashimi and the shrimp cocktail. If you have not tried the geoduck in the Pacific Northwest this is the place to try it. Cut fresh to order and they give you two different parts of the geoduck that have different textures. The sauce and garnishes go really well with the crunchy salty geoduck. Decent wine selection, but the cocktail list is the star here. Try something different, too many to even review. Easy walk to either sports stadium, and if you get there before 4pm you can easily find parking and walk to the ballpark!

Taylor Shellfish is the greatest dining experience you could have in Seattle. The cocktail selection thoroughly compliments the shellfish menu. The geoduck chowder will leave you rethinking your understanding of the phallic creature. Try to get there early if itโ€™s a game night. 10/10 would recommend.

Happy hour is where it's at. Deals on oysters and appetizers. All the seafood is as fresh as could be. The drinks were cold and refined. Great service and chats with the staff. Try the chowder.

My friends and I had a really lovely time here. The staff were friendly. The food was great - we had the fish & chips, baked oysters, and a geoduck chowder. Everything tasted delicious!

Went during happy hour and we're so glad we did! Oysters were great and our server was knowledgeable on their taste and flavor profile. They lended us great recs based off of which ones we liked more. Mixed drinks were also fantastic.

One of our favorite spots in Downtown Seattle! The oysters were absolutely delicious, and we particularly enjoyed their clam chowder. Unlike those thick soups, it had a fresh taste that really captured the essence of the ocean. The Geoduck was an interesting delicacy to try out! It's a shame we missed the happy hour. We'll definitely visit again! The bathroom was a little confusing as it required a passcode to enter. Luckily, someone exited and kindly opened the door for me. The staff was really polite and nice. The interior of the restaurant has a really chill vibe. The surroundings are perfect for a post-meal walk. Highly recommended!

Decent option for seafood, kinda pricey for what you get. Clam steamer is tasty. The fish in fish and chips is moist and flakey, however lacking in flavor, really needs the tartar sauce. The oyster plate has a good variety of oysters, but only the local one stands out. The geoduck chowder is delicious because it's a great chowder, can't really taste the geoduck.

Awesome service! I was disappointed with the food. Clam chowder was very runny, batter on the oysters were overcooked, and part of the geoduck sashimi still had outer skin on it.

Looked at a few places to try Oyster, since Taylor had the better reviews, chose them. They were quite busy, Joshua was a pleasant server that gave some great input as a local. Had a Crab roll and a variety of the Oysters (Chose to take Soy with it, but wasn't really needed). Personally don't like salty fries, but overall had a great food and service expierence here.

Never been to the down town restaurant before but it is very nice seating both inside and out. My wife doesn't like Oysters but loves their smoked oyster dip. Prices on some of the things are quite high but you pay sometimes for what you get.
