Facing East is a great place for Taiwanese food. I've ordered from here over 10 times and will gladly be back for more. Their beef and pork are some of the best I've had in Bellevue. I highly recommend the braised pork dishes, Taiwanese style pork burger, shrimp roll, and beef noodle soup in particular. The sauteed rice vermicelli, salt and pepper prawns, and sauteed slice lamb are also great but not quite as memorable. I didn't enjoy the Hakka style stir fry or bitter melon with salted duck egg (too bitter). Note that the location recently moved from downtown Bellevue to a couple miles east and no longer has indoor seating.

Prices keep going higher and the meat sizes are getting smaller. At least choose one negative thing to do at a time.. 15.50 for 4 small pieces of pork, 3 pieces of bok choy and rice is getting ridiculous at this point that's why I go back less and less. It used to be a weekly thing now I go back once every 2 months. Other places are on a rise with more moral prices

Well it’s nice that they have something able to take immediately so you don’t have to wait for long time, otherwise the wait can go up to 20-30 mins. The price are definitely affordable, which is nice. The drink are good, you can tell… well obviously it’s home made style rather than restaurant style.

Based on ONE journey to Facing East. The braised pork rice: very good. Solid pickle radish. Fatty pork. Nice side vegetable. I wish there was more rice, but oh well. Pork sandwich: good, 4 star. Bread is awesome. Pork is good. Ingredients solid but don’t like peanuts generally in this format. Eggplant dish for take out? Awesome. Most Chinese restaurants do a great job. I would get this all day. I haven’t tried the mango sago yet but bought it and we’ll see how that goes later. Overall: easily a 4.5 star rating.

The food is really tasty, we looked up several reviews and ordered some of the favorites, we only made one mistake (the fried pumpkin with egg - resist your temptation to order it because it's a veggie dish and you feel that it's healthy, get the green beans instead). Other than that we corroborate that the: Pork burger is a must try The beef soup as well Basil fried chicken The rest was good too, minus the pumpkin as mentioned above -too salty and it just didn't taste good, we couldn't eat more then one piece. The wait: Be ready. We went off peak and still had to wait 15 min to get seated. They do have a tablet where you register and they text you when your turn comes, but if you don't go hang around the hostess when you get the message they'll happily give your table to the next group.

This place is great! The popcorn chicken smells so good in the car and I totally should’ve finished it before it gets cold! The tofu dish is also so yummy and authentic. Loved all the pork dishes! Will definitely come back for more!

Came here on a Thursday night and there was no wait for a party of four! Food: We got a good mix of stuff in the menu such as the wide noodle dish, the egg battered winter melon, the tofu egg dish, the string beans, and oyster mushroom. My personal favorite was the tofu egg since it was super fluffy and had a good amount of veggies in it too! The mushroom also had a nice leathery texture which was great. Service: Food was brought out super quickly and we were checked in on decently often! Ambiance: Classic Asian restaurant but had more of a dimly lit vibe and was very elegant inside. Overall enjoyed the experience and very good authentic Asian food that doesn’t leave you feeling too oily.

In case you aren't aware, this place has switched to TAKEOUT ONLY. To our disappointment we drive all the way from Seattle only to find this out. But technically it's listed in the Updates as Takeout only, even though Google lists it as Dine In. The food was good during Dine In, so I'll leave it at 5 stars for now.

Ordered fried lamb, 3-cup chicken, Hakka style stir-fry. Below average Taiwanese dishes, but pricy. Lot of fat in both the lamb dish and the Hakka dish, half of which are trashed. The chicken dish is too dry and not well cooked with lots of bone, fat and skin. Vegetables in all dishes are not fresh and hard to chew like grass. Not recommend. Not going any more. Seattle should have much better Taiwanese / Chinese food than this.

What a sad sight from abundance of awards full service restaurant to a little take out shake in the middle of no where. Food Quality has gone way down. Hakka stir fry it was all fat and sweet and sour spear ribs to. Wont be going back. Will find a replacement. Goodbye Facing East, it was a pleasure. R.I.P

Sad they don't have a dine in restaurant anymore but their takeout is convenient. Delicious Taiwanese food, very fresh ingredients and their clerks are very helpful in explaining any food. They have traditional dishes like wood ear fungi/mushroom salad, pig ear salad, spicy cucumber salad, jelly fish salad, and snow lotus dessert drink.

Very mediocre food - it was rather disappointing to be honest, especially since I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time. Prices were also on the higher side.

We came here on a Wednesday after 8 PM, but Facing East was still busy and crowded. That's usually a good sign of a good restaurant. We were asked to sit by the door and only waited about 10 minutes before being seated. First impression upon being seated was that the ambience and decor of the restaurant was well put together, yet it still felt authentic. We managed to order mostly meatless platters (surprising for a meat lover like me) but yet I was thoroughly impressed by the food - which says quite bit without a meat dish on the table! We had the string beans which were recommended to us by a friendly couple at the table next to us, who told us that the beans were a must-have. They truly were, would highly recommend the string beans - they were very flavorful and had the right texture! We also ordered sesame noodles, Taiwanese sticky rice, and pumpkin with salty egg, all of which were decently good. When the bill came out, I was shocked - we ordered 4 plates, one for each person (though we ate family style) and the total was less than $50. We were stuffed, satisfied with the food, and it was well worth the cost. Only room for improvement would be the attentiveness of the waiters to our table (we had to ask a few times to get water refills) but that's forgivable because of how busy the place was, and they definitely returned without asking later in the evening when the business died down. Overall, would highly recommend the place for the great food and good deal. Would come back if I go to Bellevue again! And would take my parents, too - I bet they'd approve :)

Although the menu doesn't list many vegetarian options, most items can be made vegetarian upon request. I tried the vegetarian burger because I was craving some good gao bao and was a little disappointed by how dry the burger stuffing was. Felt very overpriced as well. I will probably look for other options next time.

You don't pay for the wallpaper, just good food. I'm not sure what I had was a burger, but it was so good. A nice and polite person helped us. This is a takeaway place, with a few tables and chairs outside. We willbe back.

Amazing Taiwanese food. As authentic as it gets. One of the best in the Seattle Bellevue area. Recommended come early because wait time is long due to popularity. You will understand why once you start eating. My family from Taiwan love this place and that speaks to how awesome this place is. My absolute favorites are the Hakka style chow fun and the pork chop rice. I forgot a picture of that one because it's so good. However you cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. I highly recommend the shave ice order when you are with a group. The small order is big enough for 4-5 people.

Great Taiwanese food! Everything we ordered was delicious, and the tea came in a cute little pot. The food tasted authentic to what I remember in the nightmarket in Taichung. I'd be here often if I lived closer -- prices are good, the service is great, and the seats are clean.

My family used to go to this restaurant for the pork buns/“burger” when we lived in the area over a decade ago. They are still fluffy and delicious. I just would’ve liked a fresh veggie in it, but that’s my personal preference. My milk tea was great, boba came in a separate cup and was basically a giant blob. I’d skip that part. A super friendly lady helped me with my order. I really appreciated that she went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed for my takeout. The to-go lunches also seemed to be priced very affordably. I highly recommend.

Scallion oil poached chicken from the fridge is so good. You know if you know. They also serve at Microsoft food court as well everyday in different building. I would recommend their braised beef bento box. Beef is very nice. Even the potato itself is surprisingly good.
