One and only water reservoir for Chennai, planned and built by Sri Satiya murthi ( Guru of Sri Kamaraj) in the British period (1944) during his tenure as Mayor of then Madras presidency. It is very surprising to know that the cost to build this huge reservoir was only Rs 65 Lakhs. (Now we cannot even buy a 3 bhk appartment at Chennai at this cost)

A Complete Enjoyment area at rainy season.... And also a great Weekend enjoyment places for families.............. the nature arround the area is awesome and also be Pleasent to your mind the evening is the correct time to spend your time with Poondi lake...

Good place to go with family just for a drive. It's calm n beautiful place with lot of greenery around.

A scenic place in Tiruvallur.... Right side is agriculture and left side is lake. Unfortunately now the lake is dry. Hope it will get back with water soon. Very good place for friends / families to meet and spend some quality time.

Nice place to see a lake. Here parking also available. You can drive a bike on the dam. Here is 3-5 hairpin bend road available Largest lake in this surrounding. One small park is available at one side. No other entertainment here. Just only visit lake. No boating to ride. But fishers are using small boat on this lake

Beautiful place for family and friends gathering. Easily accessible area for Chennai and Thiruvallur people. Not suggestable to swim or enjoy in water. Better keep safe distance. The route and road for the lake is also will mesmerize. Suitable time is morning 8 to 10 and after 3 to 5.
