We went for the music. (My father and I) There was such a warm and inviting atmosphere at The Sportsmen's. There was a spot for everybody depending on how much dancing they wanted to do. It would be a great place to take the guys after a long day of work.

Buffalo always had a vibrant music community that includes all of it's live music venues many of which have live music every night. The Sportsmen's Tavern is just one of them and is one of the oldest. Located in Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood the Sportsmens Tavern has two floors each with their own bar and has a upper viewing deck and patio.

A World Class live music venue built by an amazing loving family. Go as strangers leave as best friends! Such a special place. Every one should go at least once. You will return if you do!

Great venue for music and food is good as well. However the kitchen is extremely slow. First waited 20 minutes for waitress to take order, and over an hour after that for our food. This was a Thursday afternoon during the lunch time venue, but I’ve been many other times and scenario is the same.

Wednesday afternoon had a fantastic time. Music was all off the cuff; poor Joe was ill but his band did everything right and the whole crowd loved every moment. *** I left my phone at the Sportsmen's and didn't realize until returning home. The manager actually waited outside for me to return even though closed. OUTSTANDING!!

this place is such a cool atmosphere, especially in the summer when they have the whole open-air thing happening. the wings are also really good, I love the dry rub ones! being in my 20s, I'm definitely an outlier. the acts they have performing definitely cater to an older crowd, but it's nice to not be in such a raucous space sometimes. definitely stop by, have a beer or two, and get some wings

Awesome place catering for a mid to upper aged crowd. Great music, the staff is awesome, Julie is an awesome bartender, made us feel welcome. Bar number 316!

Embarrassed to say it was my first time stopping here. Just a couple beers on a Sunday afternoon with a band playing. What great sound throughout the entire place. Friendly bartender. I'll be back.

Loving the acoustical lunchtime music! Having significant hearing loss and being able to enjoy the music and still my friends is something rarely seen inside music venues. I'll be back many more times!

The GREATEST MUSIC VENUE in WNY! Great bands, great sound, great vibe. Go! You won’t be disappointed!

I love this place - intimate, multiple listening/viewing areas, great bands, decent prices. No need to dress up. Convenient, free parking across the street. I didn't eat or drink the last time I was there, so I'm not reading those items.

Great venue with great sight lines. Live music there pretty much every day

Not a very welcoming place. 100% potential, 0% hospitality and not a good food selection. I had to go down the street for a meal. The band was beyond exceptional, the place sucked. They should hire a sound man that knows the board too.

I like Sportsman for their entertainment. The place could be a little bigger with more parking. The menu is limited but the food is good. Only thing..they should have more waitresses esp when there is bands playing because they draw big crowds.

Great venue with live music every night. Every person on staff here dynamite. We felt very welcome and over accommodated. We showed up for Runnin Down a Dream, Tom Petty Tribute, and had. a. blast! Dinner was great, drinks were plentiful for a reasonable price, and we sat in upper bar, and danced the night away. will return again and again. Nicely done. Keep doing what yall do.

Always a wonderful time. I performed here many years ago before all the changes. Entertainment here is top notch. Wonderful owner. The food is some of the best in the city. I don't know the official name of it, but there is an appetizer that is to die for and I'm craving it right now. I guess it's a banana pepper, filled with cheese, and then coat it in some kind of super crispy stuff, and deep fried. Absolutely killer!

Love this place for live music and the local characters. Prices are affordable, and the fish fry is so good, I haven't had the opportunity to try it because it's always sold out. The décor is amazing in the crazy little details. It's like a big ole two story barn with the stage as central focus.

Location: Sportsmen’s Tavern Order: 10 Hot Wings and 10 Greg’s Wings Let’s keep the good times rollin’! I stopped into the Sportsmen’s Tavern for a show and had the great opportunity to talk with Jason Hall–One of the proprietors of this fine establishment. They are currently re-vamping their menu, but one thing that has consistently been on it is their chicken wings. They offer two different styles here. One is your traditional buffalo wing and the other are ‘Greg’s Wings’. Greg’s wings are a dry spice-rubbed chicken wing that are fried, grilled and then tossed in sauce. They are fried for first five minutes of cooking time, then they’re grilled for the other 80 percent of the way. Both options are served with a fresh, blue-cheese. I always forget how nice it is to not have to ask for blue cheese (There are a lot of dreaded ranch degenerates out there!). If given the option, I would order the Greg’s wings over the traditional. While the traditional buffalo wing had some crisp to it, it could’ve definitely #RespectTheCrisp a little more. For this, we give these a respectable 7.7. The Greg’s wings were grilled to perfection and packed a slight punch. Surprisingly, these wings had a crisp to them, despite being grilled. For that, we give these Greg’s wings an 8.1. Definitely stop in for a show and grab some wings from this fine establishment! #RespectTheCrisp #TheWingHub Check out all of our reviews at thewinghub.com @thewinghub on Instagram @thewinghub1 on Facebook

The talent we are able to enjoy here is amazing! Always a fun night. The people that go there are so friendly it feels like home.

Sportsmen's doesn't disappoint. Their live music offerings are great. The sound is excellent. And the wings are surprisingly good. Most recent visit (pictured) was for a NYE matinee show of Grateful Dead music. Even with a packed house didn't have to wait much for a drink and the server managed to get us wings even though they were prepping for a party in their other room.

We come back to Buffalo from Houston every summer and catch at least two shows at the club! This the best place to see and hear live music in Buffalo. Please keep up the great job Hall family.

It's a great place to go to listen to live music. Unfortunately I'm only going to give it a three-star. I have been there a couple of times and it is very difficult to order food there. The bartender States the waitress has to take your order but the waitress Never Comes Around. Even on nights when there is no one hardly there. I would suggest eating before you go there. Although a nice place for live music.

Great music every night, bartenders provide great service and the food and drink is always good and at very reasonable prices. I’ve been going there for years. I’ve never been disappointed.

Have been here many times, this is my first on the patio upstairs. Nice breeze and a great view of the stage! Beer is good, food is excellent, and everyone is always friendly! (Cash only)
