I review new restaurants all the time and this is one of a few that's worth coming back to! Been eating here for years. It's a small space with limited seating, the atmosphere is nice with dim lighting and there's always music playing which is nice. The only negative things are the tables are way too close together, you'll feel like you're having your meal with strangers if anyone sits at the table next to you because they can hear everything you're saying, no privacy.... And they expect you to use a QR code to view the menu. Not everyone wants to bring a phone into a restaurant or have to go through the hassle of doing that just to look at a menu, very inconvenient. They have a limited à la carte menu for walk-ins, I love that the dishes are always creative, and the presentation is always great! I don't even like focaccia but I've had two different kinds here and they were both great, perfect amount of crunch, saltiness and butteriness... delicious. The texture of the homemade gnocchi was amazing, Possibly the best I have had. Although a tiny portion for $18. the hummus with fava beans and spices was also good. The fresh homemade agnolotti was stuffed with squash and cheese, it was decent, although a bit bland, with a nice texture. Pork tostada was decent. The pickled frites with aioli are one of my favorites, so flavorful! The roasted carrot plate was wonderful also. The Persian love cake was the absolute worst tasting cake I ever put into my mouth, it had a vinegary flavor which really threw me off, and a mealy texture similar to cornbread. I was expecting to like it because I really love cardamom but I didn't even detect much of a cardamom flavor because it was overpowered by the vinegary taste. My friend liked it, which I was completely baffled by. The service is always great here. the staff at this location are personable and friendly, which was a nice change because the staff at the old location were stone faced and pretentious. The water they served they said was filtered, which is nice, nobody wants to drink chemical tap water. The only other complaint is that there's no salt or pepper on the tables which I always consider a clear display of arrogance by the chef. The agnolotti definitely would have been much better if there had been salt and pepper. If they have the basil ice cream, I highly recommend it, it's super creamy and so great!

A wonderful reminder of what great food, great drinks, and great service can be like! The unknown supper club is a brilliant concept and brings a fun element of adventure to dining out. Wish I lived closer so I could frequent more!

I went here for a date night and it turned out to be an amazing spot for a date! Food was perfect, drinks were great, and service was spot on! I really enjoyed the different flavors in the food (like the basil ice cream and curry in the stewed apples with the pork). I would love to go here again! And often because the menu changes regularly!

Black Iron Bystro is a foodies dream. That is, if your a open-minded person. Reason being is, this place has two different menus. One menu (small) you have dips, charcuterie board, and scallops to name a few. The second menu is truly a mystery. It's a four course prix fixe dinner ($100per), with a paired beverage (alcohol). This dinner menu is forever changing, and its whatever the chef wants for the evening. Every bit of this evening was a great experience. Good food along with high quality drinks. Makes this place a spot you have to try, and try again. The decor is beautiful and relaxing. The bar area is just as elegant as the dining area. This is a very small restaurant and even though they welcome walk ins. I would recommend making reservations.

Always an amazing unique experience! I love a mystery so I come with an open mind knowing whatever’s plated in front of me will be loaded with an unbelievable amount of flavor and made to perfection! LEGIT!! Its like a work of art. And the new spot is beautiful, staff is very attentive. Cocktails are ON POINT! I cant wait to go back to try the al la cart menu at the bar. Go treat yourself!

Out of this world food. Every bite was a delight. We did the regular tasting menu for that day. I adore that they accommodate a vegetarian diet. Honestly, I wasn’t blown away by the drink pairings - I only really enjoyed 1 of the 4. But the food more than made up for it so I will definitely be back and would be excited to try the themed dinners as well.

It’s one of the best food experience I’ve had locally, presentation, taste and signature drinks to complement the meal exceeded our dinner parties expectations.

4 courses if you go for the tasting menu. I enjoyed the mushroom focaccia and cannelloni the most. Overall the meal was enjoyable. Nice atmosphere and good service. Not too pricey

We had the mystery dinner there two weeks ago and it was wonderful. Service was stellar and each dish was a delicious surprise, especially the ribeye with polenta cake. I wish I had asked what the first cocktail was because I enjoyed it so much but missed when the server told us what it was. It's an intimate place with not many tables. Great atmosphere for date night or a night out with foodie friends. We will definitely be back.

Such an incredible gem in Kenmore!! I just came across this place and knew I had to try it! We did the surprise dinner club and it was such an incredible experience! They made cocktail pairings since we don't drink and each meal was such a great fusion of flavors and textures! I already can't wait to go back again! I would highly recommend trying this place out! Truly a dining experience like no where else in Buffalo but has such a comfortable feel! Staff was amazing and the whole meal and experience was incredible!

This place was incredible! Service was exceptional as we were ushered in for our reservation. The timing was quick and moved right along for a multi course meal. The first course was a pear and sweet pea dish which Ok, but each course following impressed! The next dish was swordfish salad, so good, followed by a charred octopus on salted potatoes and the main was brisket that melted in our mouth and had perfect flavor. All of this followed up by a strawberry/cayenne ice cream, which was perfect. Overall I highly recommend. The level of quality, service and care with each dish was beyond expectations!

My husband set up a birthday dinner for me and it was one of the most wonderful evenings I've ever had. The meal and drinks were so thoughtfully currated, service was fantastic, and the overall quality of the experience was really one of a kind. I can't wait for my next visit there!

We have been here twice so far. The food was incredible both times! We discovered flavors and combinations that we never knew or thought to try. Each course followed a theme and was diverse and delicious. Intimate & comfortable ambiance. Cocktails and pairings were just as creative as the food and complimented the meal. Chef Bryan, Chef Steve, Derek and Cassidy are all amazing in their own way and as a team. We felt like family and can't wait to return.

An elite-tier experience all around. If you do the supper club, you'll find they keep it intentionally smaller and intimate. It's great to be able to hear your dining partners talk, it's never too loud. The staff will walk you through everything and accommodate dietary needs, the chef came out and talked to every table. Oh and the food was top notch with unique textures and flavors, stands out among others. Kenmore needed a place like this.

My wife and I had gone there for our anniversary (with reservations). It was a 3 course dinner with paired drinks. Dinner menu was meticulously put together and was wonderful. It's pricey, but worth it.

For a totally unique dining experience, you need to try Black Iron Bystro! The chef and his staff are so committed to providing an excellent dining experience-the best ever! We thoroughly enjoyed the signature drinks at the bar; the bartender was so knowledgeable. Each course was introduced by our server and was absolutely delicious! Chef Mecozzi even took the time to visit each table! Try it!

Amazing culinary experience. Each of the four courses were delicious and inventive. That compounded with the fact each was paired with a perfect wine or unique cocktail, can’t ask for more. The ambience was perfect for the space. You can tell the chef has a true passion for their work. Beyond excited to have this gem in Kenmore and will for sure be returning.

Had a wonderful time Saturday night. Food is high quality and different. Hat tip to Joe behind the bar who took care of us with unique and interesting drinks. Glad to see places like this sprouting up from the urban soil.

Large selection of drinks, quiet place for dinner. Staff was very nice, and even offered special vegan options!

A pleasant discovery. If you’re taking a long road trip on I-90 and want a hipsterish, artistic culinary alternative to the pre-fab restaurants (Applebee’s, Denny’s, MacDonald’s), this is conveniently located a few short miles off the interstate. Inspiring atmosphere, great flavorful twists on classic pub fare.
