Moccasin Lake Nature Preserve is so awesome! The first thing we stopped by to view were the birds. My kids really enjoyed watching the Hawks and looking at the owls. Next, we decided to take the trail to see the turtle pond. We got to see them sunbathing, which was cute. You can then take the trail to the lake or a bird watching spot. The playground is clean and a good size as well. They had picnic shelters and a butterfly garden also. There is a nature center too, but we didn't have enough time to check it out. The parking lot is a decent size to accommodate visitors. Bathrooms are clean as well. We will be back!

Great little park. Has a fantastic bird sanctuary up front with informational and friendly volunteers. The park features a lot of small walks and some walks near the water. The only thing I will warn (which is nothing the park can control) is there are wild pet peacocks who will attack cars. So be careful with that.

Beautiful park. Serene. Peaceful. Plenty of shade. Love the little animal exhibits to get close. It’s FREE! So no complaints. Just suggestions! Lol they have a few toys in the nature center that aren’t real animals. That’s a little deceptive or strange. There’s that one area with trash in it. Ppl stop littering you jerks. They should get a canoe and pick it out tho. Beautiful place. Perfect for bringing a lunch and the whole family. Thank you for having this gem! Wish it stayed open till 6 at least. Follow my travels on YT and IG @dangennaro in regards to no dogs. I’m not sure. They could startle the birds and there’s alligator signs soo??

Nice park there is a great walking trail which is mostly shaded. There are some birds in cadges which have been rescued. I do wish they had bigger habitats. The main reason I’m giving a 3 and not 5 is the trails aren’t marked very well. I almost got lost.

Great little park with a walking trail and some rescued birds to view. Trails are well maintained and marked as well as shaded. Volunteer staff was friendly and educational. Best of all, it is free! But note they are closed Mondays.

Love this place! Awesome nature Preserve hidden in the middle of residential neighborhood close to the Bay in Clearwater off of Drew Street. This is my second time coming here and it’s actually closed on Monday so I didn’t get a check for baby gators I didn’t see any gators. But their bird sanctuary is awesome the eagle will hop across and come up to you and talk to you! There’s a herd of peacocks everywhere that will follow you! Today I saw river otters but couldn’t get video or pictures of them cause they were so fast. There’s so many wild different animals here that are hidden amongst everything that are hard to spot but it’s fun place to explore, it’s a great place to get exercise and walk, its nature at its best in the middle of a residential neighborhood you can’t even tell you’re in a neighborhood. They also have a butterfly exhibit I think a bad exhibit also and they have classrooms they have reptile showings! Can’t wait to go back I’m gonna start going to hear more often! Thank you for taking care of all the animals here moccasin like nature park and please keep up the good work!

Beautiful place and lots to see! Great parking options and it also appears they have a conference room. The pond is also beautiful! If you're looking for opportunities to see wildlife and enjoy some family time and FREE... then this is a great stop!

Me and the hubby took the kids to one of the many events that they offered. It was the Jurassic Park, Day of Raptors event. They had a lot of fun things for the kids to do, food, music and even showed the original movie at 6pm on the grass. They had a great playground for the kids as well. Would've been nice if the trail to the lake wasn't closed, due to damage...but it was still a fun day. Also, the event was free to go to and all the activities for the kids were free, they even got to take home the things they made. My only complaints are that was a bit crowded and parking wasn't all that great. Also, the event was supposed to be "Jurassic Park" themed, but they didn't really have anything dinosaur. They did try to make up for that with the activities, but they could've advertised it a little bit better.

My brother was visiting from Idaho and found Moccasin Lake Bird Sanctuary nearby so we visited on a Saturday. We had a blast exploring all the trails and ending up at the Bird houses right in time for their feedings. Such beautiful birds and the bird guy was very cheerful and happy to answer any questions anyone had regarding all the birds. Such a neat place and I will be back to explore some more.

This is a wonderfully educational park to visit. There is a great indoor education center and the birds of prey rehabilitation area is stunning to visit. As you walk around the park, you will see QR codes that will take you to informational videos. There is also a butterfly garden and playground to enjoy. This park is great for anyone who loves nature and animals, homeschool families, and people of all ages.

Moccasin Lake Nature Park is a delightful place to spend time. There are trails to walk, a picnic pavillion, and best of all, several raptors on display as they recover and are cared for. We saw and talked to one of the park volunteers who was handling a red-shouldered hawk. An added bonus was a wild peacock who joined us in the picnic area. The peacocks wander around free and seem comfortable around people. Overall, a delightful place!!

It is closed on Mondays. It is a small, quiet, shady park in a neighborhood above another park. I had planned to go for years but didn't go until I attended a memorial for dear friends. It was a wonderful surprise on a very difficult day. It was the perfect place to honor my friends and find solace. I have already returned. Don't be surprised if you hear the scream of a peacock that roam the neighborhood. The picnic area is nice. I love the birds and turtles. They seem to have education show and tell with birds on Saturday but it might have been a special event.

Great little park but I do feel bad for the birds. They were hot and only had a bowl of water. Should have some sort of fountain or mister to spray them.

What a beautiful place. Took my kids and in-law here, and we loved it. I liked how they have it setup. We looked with the birds sanctuary in front, walked the trail that loops around, stopped at playground for the kids, and finally the nature center.

Awesome park. They have all sorts of birds they rescued. Families of wild peacocks wandering around near the entrance. Ab indoor area you can see snakes and turtles. We also saw a racoon and her 2 babies. Nice trails to walk. We didn't get to see it all, they shut the gates at 4:30 and close at 5:00 so arrive early. All free, they do accept donations. I'll definitely be going back.

It's just a nice place to take a stroll, tap into nature, and bring the kids to play on the playgrounds. The picnic areas are nice all though we didn't use them. It's a peaceful place and it's a tucked away gem for the neighborhood residents.

Very beautiful and peaceful. There’s a lot of Pokémon stops there not many people were out but it’s a peaceful area. Turtles are all over and there’s different little areas. I liked it thought it was nice in the summertime. It would probably be very hot and have a lot of mosquitoes but if you go during the day, it wouldn’t be as bad bad

I went to Moccasin Lake Nature Park this past Saturday and it was wonderful. I especially enjoyed seeing all the birds that they were taking care of there. The people working there were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the birds. This is an especially great spot if you enjoy taking photos of birds!

I had my daughters 8th birthday here and it was absolutely perfect! We rented the classroom, which is a large almost log cabin building. They had our requested number of tables set up with chairs, doors unlocked, cart for transporting our items from the cars, ac running, and lights on right on time. The value for the rental was perfection! We had a program planned, however there was an emergency, Lloyd the park coordinator stepped up and got together a great program for my daughter and her guests. The classroom venue was spacious, clean, had a private bathroom and wonderfully situated so that guests could go to the playground just feet away, check out the turtles in the pond (even closer) rock on the rocking chairs outside, or wonder out to see their bird sanctuary. 100% recommend hosting your events at this location!

This place is amazing for kids. The people are so nice. They walked with us and a giant bald eagle on their arm and introduced us to each bird and told us their stories. The park is stuck a lovely walk. Fun was had by all, young and older
