If you don't know it's here, you'll drive right by it. And you'll be sorry you missed Berta and her fine sandwiches. On our initial visit, we had the pastrami and roast beef sandwiches. Both were very tasty and the pastrami was extra lean. We wanted the meatloaf sandwich but apparently it's very popular, because when we visited, they were out of meatloaf. I'll have to try again earlier in the week as opposed to Saturday. Interesting signage throughout the place. Adds to the "mom and pop" ambiance that's so hard to find nowadays. Can't wait for our next visit.

I’ve been going there for decades and decades when they were at their first location on Bearss Avenue. The owner was so sweet and would crack jokes while you waited on line. Sadly he passed away. Bertha his wife is still there and works so hard. I love the Cuban sandwiches all the way pressed with pork! Yum! Been my go to sandwich. But pretty much anything you order tastes fresh and it’s good.

Food is great menu and signs are funny. Berta is sweet and very funny lady. Sweet tea is also very good. It’s quiet and the energy is good

Berta and her crew are Amazing. Friendly service and staff! Tater salad is amazing. Cuban sandwiches A1. But as a Florida and Tampa native I’ve had lots of Flan. Berta made sure to remind me to get a spoon and when I tell you I had eaten the entire flan before I made it home. The flan was so damn good. Chefs Kiss

I have been coming here since I was a kid. Absolutely the best Cuban for my personal taste. Meatball is also phenomenal. They will treat you like family and you gotta love the fun signs 🙃

It's just a sandwich. Not even particularly good. Go up the street to Station House and get way better potato salad. Go to any grocery store and slap some ingredients on some bread and you got yourself a sandwich of better quality for a fraction of the price.

I can’t believe that I’ve lived in Tampa for over 20 years but never knew about this little gem. My Ruben was wonderful and the service was so neat. Funny light heated and courteous. Come check them out. Ms Berta had me cracking up. I will be a regular for sure!

This little sandwich shop has a long time following and for good reason. Laughter is served alongside really good sandwiches. We love Berta!

If I could give a zero star I would , worst Cuban I’ve ever had! I decided to give it a try based on reviews & it was close by , honestly if you call this the best Cuban y’all mommas ain’t feed y’all right & you obviously ain’t have a good Cuban sandwich in your life time ham tasted like cleaning products can say the bread was the best part and that’s sad … never again

Never been here before decided to stop by one day for lunch however as walked in the door there seemed to be some kind of confrontation between A customer and an employee fron the barber shop next door as I was walking in to get in line to order. The employee of the barber shop next door was clearly very angry at this customer about where they had parked and he was telling the employee making the sandwiches about how angry he and how rude this customer was that's when their anger turned towards me when they scowled at me wanting to know if I was with him. I looked at them, shocked as I said no, and they looked at me like I was lying and at that point, unsure if i had parked incorrectly too and certainly did not feel welcome. So I walked right out of that establishment. My time and money it too valuable to be treated in that way. Hope they take a lesson in first impressions and treating potential paying customers with kindness. I was buying lunch to bring home to my family. Someone else will get my money.

I was a regular at Bearss Sandwiches (when it was next to the 7-11 at the corner of Bears and North) when I was at USF in the 90s. After a 20-year hiatus from my hometown of Tampa, I was pleased to see Berta still at it on Florida Avenue. The Cuban Sandwich is as good as it gets. While the sandwich is great, Berta is great people worth a stop in.

The sandwhich is fresh but it's not a Cuban if you have to pay to add pork. Nice people who work there. Wasn't impressed with quality or price of the deviled crabs

One of Tampa's best kept secrets where you can grab an amazing Cuban sandwich.

Great food, great people, great time! Berta is absolutely hilarious!! Came from Philly and would definitely visit again next time I visit Tampa. Don't let the appearance fool you, it's great!

One of the better Cubans in Tampa and the best in North Tampa. Small menu with other sandwiches, potato/ macaroni salad, and Flan. Beer and soft drinks available. Great family owned place. Tons of repeat customers.

What a fantastic shop! I’ve been going here for years and my sandwich is always great! Berta is the best!

Horrible, even for the north end. Not a true representation of a Cuban sandwich. Beware of the sliced pork. Yuck, way better spots in Tampa still... I hope. There always was but sum closed down (like Maria's).
