Ik heb hier eigelijk alleen maar in de etalage gekeken. Wel zo fanatiek dat ik mijn hoofd tegen het glas stootte.

I was buying a necklace for my wife's birthday.
To avoid any confusion, I made a photo of the necklace on the the showcase along with a pricetag and showed it to the shopping assistant, the old lady.
The lady wrapped the gift for me, however when it came to paying, the payment was rejected by a bank because of insufficient funds.
After a few attempts I realized that they tried to charge me for a similar necklace, but 10x more expensive.
Because the first few digits of the price were the same (the original necklace was EUR 273), I did not bother to count zeroes in the first place.
I am pretty sure the mistake of the old lady was not intentional, that said I got no excuses in return.
The lady repackaged the right necklace while clearly looking cranky, which she tried to hide at all costs.
On the second turn of paying something went wrong with the card scanner, so it took several attempts to read my card.
I know this happens now and then and I did not worry about it, however after the 3rd failed attempt, the old lady could not keep her annoyance with such a disturbing client and refused me in the purchase.
I politely insisted on trying again with another card. The payment went well.
When leaving or entering the shop, all the clients got locked for a few seconds between two doors. This is necessary security measure and I am totally okay with that. The door is operated by a shopping assistant using a pedal.
When I was leaving the shop, I was kept between the doors for at least half-a-minute.
Enough said.
This was my last visit of this Kingdom or Arrogance.

Super fijne en servicegerichte juwelier. Ik heb 20 jaar geleden een Corum horloge bij Pijnenburg gekocht in dezelfde straat. Toen deze gerepareerd moest worden gaven ze aan dit niet te willen doen omdat ze het merk niet meer verkopen. Van de Kerkhof is ook gestopt met Corum maar heeft toch de moeite genomen om het horloge naar de fabriek te sturen ter reparatie. Ondanks dat ik het horloge niet bij hen had gekocht. Dat noem ik service! Enorm bedankt daarvoor👊

Service? A word missing in their dictionary!
Being a local dealer of a brand means even accepting to simply intermediate with the Service Center, especially in those cases like for me, for a watch with an International Warranty still valid!

Highly recommend this store. I gave the sales staff a challenge to set and custom order a ring for me in less than 1 week. They exceeded my expectations and did everything in their power to make it a seamless experience and purchase. I got a beautiful engagement ring at a fair price and with a great story! Even worked with me once I returned to the states to get my VAT refund. Would rate 6 out of 5 stars if I could. Thank you all so much!!
