We stumbled upon this Indian restaurant while we were in Pretoria to see jacaranda bloom. The restaurant has very nice Ambience with equally good food. Two disadvantages, first the location it's on second floor with no lifts, so if there are people on wheelchair and babies in prams then it a no go. Second the owner, she was very rude, the Restaurant was almost empty but she said we must come with the reservation. She let us in as if she was doing charity. Please make reservation before going.

An absolutely exquisite culinary experience. Geet serves traditional Indian food with a modern culinary twist that is sure to delight the senses. The staff are warm and friendly and the atmosphere is authentic and classy, with an oriental theme, that will make you feel like you're sitting in India. I would definitely recommend as a great place for special events or just for some good food with friends. If you're in Pretoria, it's a quick drive, situated next to Brooklyn mall. If you're not from Pretoria, take a drive... It's definitely worth it!

Decided to have an Indian lunch at Geet it is located in Brooklyn, Pretoria the restaurant has an oriental theme as I arrived I was given a complimentary dish which just set the tone for the absolutely exquisite and flavourful dish that followed. I had the fish breyani, the portion size is very generous. Geet doesn't disappoint, the service was excellent too. Edit: I went back again the next day and ordered the Nepalese breyani, it had prawns, lamb and chicken all in one dish and I simply loved it. Browsing thru the entrance I know why this is an award winning establishment.

Geet was recommended by a friend so we decided to give it a try on my son’s birthday. Booked a table for 9. On arrival there were complimentary nibbles of 2 spicey sauces and papar. We waited about 20 minutes before a waiter came to our table explaining the complimentary treats and mentioned the non alcoholic drinks for which they do not have a menu for. He then took our drink orders which was served not long after. We then had to wait a while before he brought the menus to us. We waited an extra longer period before he could take our order this was all while we were watching him being attentive to the two other tables he was weighting on. At some point I was keen on just paying for the drinks and walking out. Eventually when he took our order I ended up not ordering a meal for myself. Couldn’t believe that an Indian restaurant does not do a thali According to the feedback from the table - The food lacked strength in the spicy 🌶️ department. The naan was pretty small for the price you pay - compared to other places where you pay less and get a bigger serving. Favourite naan ordered was the cheese naan. The desserts was definitely a no no - we ordered different flavours of kulfi ice cream and it was terrible - was not creamy at all. Overall our service was aweful mains was average and dessert kulfi was sad.

The highlight of our 2021 restaurant week. We had the 5 course option. Tranquil ambience. Remarkable Indian fine dining. Even my hard to please mother in law enjoyed it. Enough said.

I can't say anything amazing about this so called "fine dining establishment"... Our experience was tainted by heavy rain and small parking for rather large number of seatings available in the restaurant, so we had to park in the brooklyn mall and walk through the rain to get to Geet. Then our table was either giving away or not ready yet which we made a booking (being a grand total of 5 minutes late) - which didn't help at all, so we had to wait a while. I'd expect for a restaurant of that calibre offer us drinks till you sort out your mistake. If you believe negative things happen in 3 - the table being very unstable and nearly lost our drinks a few times. Once that eventually all got sorted, the waiter was amazing and very friendly. The menu, a lot is happening on the menu. So, so many variations. The food was tasty but the prior experience warped our night, unfortunately. For me, paying a premium means the experience of all areas need to be a high standard, and it wasn't for us that night.

The best achar I ever ate! Best curry I ever ate! Best ice cream I ever ate! They make their own ice cream! Rose flavoured, pistachio flavoured and mango chilli flavoured! There is a nice lounge if you go in a group, parking by the entrance o free restaurant. If you love spicy food, I highly recommend this restaurant. Feels like being in India without being in India! Love it

Delicious curry cuisine. Unfortunately Pretoria has a deficit of restaurants serving up delectable Indian spices Geet's provides excellent quality to help fill the gap. It has a very pleasant atmosphere, quality wine (when regulations will once again allow us to partake) and plenty of variety in the menu. A must visit for any curry addicts in Pretoria, and a rewarding night out for those tempted to explore new taste sensations.

Geet Indian Restaurant was nice! It is run by the Indian owner. The food was good, enough seating arrangements were there. Cozy and comfortable atmosphere inside the restaurant. Everything was good but the price was too high! Another bad thing was they charged tips all by themselves without asking me, and it was a handsome amount for tips!

Heard alot about the restaurant. Was excited to see drove all the from Johannesburg to Brooklyn. Don't Mind paying but taste was average. If you are Indian 10% Tips will already be included in the bill. You don't need to Calculate😅 1 Star for ambiance 2 Star for Service 3 Star for Food Presentation Taste was avarage but too Expensive.

Wonderful Indian restaurant. Lots of vegan options. The lady who served us has been working there a long time and was very knowledgable regarding the vegan options. This is often not the case in restaurants, so that was a huge plus. The food was very tasty. There was beautiful Indian music playing. The owner told me it was composed specially for the restaurant. I found this out because I enjoyed it so much that I asked who the musician was because I wanted to get a copy. Wonderful vibe, good food and beautiful souls. I had been to this restaurant before on a previous visit to Pretoria. I was very happy to be able to take some friends there. Will always visit if I am in Pretoria next time.

Heavily overpriced. For a once off experience, it's okay. But for the same food, it's way more cheaper in other authentic Indian restaurants. They will draw in more customers if they price their food like other restaurants do.

I was disappointed with the overall experience. It was mediocre despite the beautiful interior. Overpriced for food portions that was similar to what you would get at a cheaper Indian restaurant. Butter chicken that was ordered came in a nice sauce but the chicken tasted plain as if it was thrown into the sauce at the last minute. We Veg options are tastier. We ordered medium-heat dishes but it tasted mild. I don't know if is what medium is at the restaurant or if they accidentally made it mild. If you go and usually order medium heat you might want to change it to the hot option. Non-alcoholic drinks are pricey, too; the drinks list was read out to us so we didn't get to see the prices. The waiter wasn't bad but he was not very friendly and seemed reluctant to help with queries. Restaurant is also located on the second floor of a building without a lift so it isn't accessible to wheelchairs and anyone with issues climbing stairs. Nice, chilled, upmarket atmosphere but the food was just ok for the price you pay.

What a special experience. The menu is easy to follow and staff very patiently describes the dishes. The owners refurbished the restaurant during lockdown. Don't miss out on special dining!

A must have experience! Very different to what you'd typically expect to find in an Indian restaurant with dishes inspired from all over India.

So I wanted to have an Indian themed Birthday dinner for a few friends and family at Geet. I went there personally in June to make the reservation and was told to send an email. I sent the email requested their set menu and quotes for authentic activities and cake prices... I guess my business wasn't important to them because I never received any information. So yeah... Had to have my Birthday dinner at another restaurant with an African theme instead.

This is honestly one of the best restaurants I have been to ever. I have been sleeping on this gem of a place for far too long. We went for a fabulous wine pairing evening hosted by Geet, offering Paul Cluver wines and every staff member we interacted with were amazing. I would highly recommend giving it a try, they were so accommodating, even serving us a 3 course VEGAN dinner. The food was truly amazing! Great quality food at amazing value, I can't wait to go back!

The food here was a taste experience like no other. Pleasing to the eye and the palate. The service was immaculate. If you can’t make up your mind on what food to choose then ask them to surprise you with a little of everything.

  • 5/5 Louise Van der L. 2 years ago on Google
The food here are amazing. Service friendly and professional. We had lunch on a Sunday. We asked for a variety of starters which was presented beautifully on each plate. It was absolutely delicious. For main course we had fish, chicken, lamb, prawns and palak paneer. We ordered everything in medium curry, which was perfect for us. The mild would have been too bland and we definitely don't have the experience for the strong curry. We had different kinds of naan bread, mushroom rice and lemon rice. For dessert we had a variety of ice-cream and sorbet. Everything was delicious.

I hadnt had restaurant Indian food for a long time. When the opportunity arose, I took it. Found Geet as we were staying over in Pretoria. What a great idea this was. The deco was intimate, warm and welcoming. Soft music, lights low. Made for a great start to the evening. Our waitress, Faith, was excellent and knowledgeable about the menu. The menu was huge and so varied we were overwhelmed. Faith gave us good advice and we helped us choose delicious options.

  • 1/5 Salman S. 1 year ago on Google
Edible but not outstanding food. Some dishes were too sweet. The chicken karahi was not authentic at all. The dal was uninspiring and the palak paneer was bland. The mango mocktail was very nice. The mango ice cream was just sweet and had no flavour of mango, the pistachio kulfi was barely proper kulfi and the gulab jamun was just mainly sweet without good texture or any of the subtle caramelised flavours a good gulab jamun should have. The service was great. The atmosphere was reasonably nice but felt a bit stuffy. The table cloth was made of what seemed like curtain material and it felt hot on our legs. What's wrong with simple crisp white tablecloths? To be fair my dining companions had a far more positive impression and that's the nub of the problem. This restaurant is aimed at a western palate and audience, at people who can't tell kofta from gulab jamun. I don't mind spending on a great meal but their prices were crazy expensive for what they offered. This is not fine dining by any stretch of the imagination but they pretend it is.

What a wow experience. I haven't enjoyed cuisine from another country as much as I did at Geet. A very extensive wine list as well as menu. Not your average cheap restaurant; a cut above the rest and worth your spend. The waiter was well trained in the menu and general waiting manners. A privilege to be served by a skilled waiter.

A huge fan - my absolute favourite Indian cuisine restaurant! The food is delicious, every single time. Ambiance is lovely and festive while still feeling very "classy". Service is great. The restaurant's wine collection was just the cherry on top for me. I have also had the privilege to meet Gita the owner and it's clear how passionate she is about the restaurant.

  • 5/5 kate b. 2 years ago on Google
The food is absolutely delicious! The portions are generous and the menu is deep. The atmosphere is elegant and intimate. I would only suggest that the mark up on the whisky is staggering and should be amended.

Definitely one of the best spicy cuisine places in Pretoria 👌 most amazing flavors with a depth that leaves your senses pleased with aromas and taste. Highly recommend. Normal days have excellent service but was unfortunately dissatisfied with the service for valentines as out waitress Re****e did not attend to anything we asked for! Like just ignored it entirely! Request beverage, nothing. Request some ice, nothing. Request a spoon, nothing and so it continued... Thank you to the gentleman that did notice the lack of service at our table and assisted where he could. Will definitely be back! Just hope to not have to be served by such a dismissive watron which made a great evening in a beautiful atmosphere so frustrating and disappointing.

Nice Indian cuisine on the heart of pretoria. Great vibe , but restaurant is in need of a paint. Food was tasty but at the same time very disappointing. It didn't live up to the true indian cuisine experience, curry was more a south African durban curry than a true indian curry

  • 5/5 Lurika S. 1 year ago on Google
Was the best Indian meal we've ever had. All the different curries we've had with our friends were delicious, had a depth to the flavour and 5 star. Even the Indian ice cream were out of this world. Will be back many times again. Service and Ambiance next level. So.glad.we've discovered Geet.

The food was fantastic - best Indian cuisine I've tasted in PTA so far (I'll update if I find a better one ). The service was excellent and friendly. I highly recommend it.

  • 5/5 Dekha K. 2 years ago on Google
The service was excellent, food excellent and ambience also excellent. Geet is very popular so one should ideally book a table to ensure securing a table. The downside: 1. The excessively long menu - fortunately the waiter was knowledgeable enough to recommend good options; 2. The restaurant's practice of adding the tip to the bill, which I personally dislike; 3. The "background" music was so loud that it was disruptive to conversation. Highly recommended!

Great aeromatic food. Authentically Indian styled restaurant decor and atmosphere. Also a very good wine selection. Just a side note that they do not form part of the Brooklynn Mall. They are situated on the North side of the mall and have parking at the restaurant as shown on the map.

Not your average Indian restaurant. One of the best places to go for authentic Indian food! I love the flavors at Geet and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Being Indian, I like the fact that the food is absolutely authentic and healthy (not submerged in loads and loads of oil like other places). You won't be disappointed, your stomach will be happy and your wallet won't be completely empty... take it from me, I have frequent them almost weekly and am always satisfied and I would totally recommend this place to others. This place is spiced just right

Me and my wife went to Geet as part of the restaurant week. We had three menus we could choose from and I have to say, everything looked delicious! Each of us had different starters, mains and deserts and we tasted each others as well and there was not a single thing wrong with any dish. Everything was great! The service was excellent and quick without being annoying. Very polite and the chef and owner came out to greet us as well. The have a massive selection of cocktails wines and other drinks so this was another major plus for us. I will definitely go back and try their normal menu. Would recommend it. 10 out of 10.

Amazing food, but when we got takeout, they rang up 3 extra rice sides at R35 each, over and above the rice and naan that we ordered with our meals. I thought the price was steep, but only thought to check it once we found all the extra rice at home.
