The place is very reasonable and clean. The chalet had everything we needed. Loved the swimming pool. I would definitely book again

I paid R1000 for 1 nights accommodation and because of an emergency we didn't go to warm baths at that time. I sent an email to apologise for not calling earlier and explained what happened but the owner just sent me a long email explaining how cancellation worked and how busy they were and she had to turn people away. I understood clearly dhe is running a business but i didn't ask for my money back but instead suggested that we could come back at any time other during the year and there was no response from the owner at all. Will never book there again definitely not a people person just out to make money.

I will neeeeeeverrr go there ever AGAIN. The worst place ever, has roaches, so dirty and the treatment we got from the "Manager" was so BAD I wanted to cry. I wouldnt recommend it shem, ngeke...yoòoh!!!I'm traumatized even today!!Kubi,Bad,tjaak

It is actually quite and each room is unique. The garden has a nice spot to propose. Which is private and a pretty setting. The only thing was it had other DSTV sports channels and not the Rugby channels. For the overnight rooms there weren't enough coffee, sugar and milk sachets. Alternatively a nice place away from home.

It is a very nice place ..on arrival my sons enjoyed the swimming pool and our own braai area

Jooo jooo I've never seen such poor service.. You share 1 iron with almost 10 rooms, 19 people share the same kitchen with 1 stove... My kidz got sick cz of the swimming pool... This place its enter at your own risk

It was a really beautiful place, it's adequate and peaceful

My family and I stayed here as the first stop of our road trip. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful, we instantly felt relaxed and at home. The rooms were extremely spacious and the whole accommodation was spotless. We had everything we needed to be completely self sufficient. The communal area with the pool table, seating, extra kitchen facilities, swimming pool and toilets worked perfectly. It has a very traditional feel to it, with loads of quirky furniture and artifacts to look at while enjoying the sunshine. I love they way things have been recycled into useful furniture and beautiful decorations. Although Bela-Bela is considered a tourist destination as it is ideally located as a weekend get away for people from Johannesburg and Pretoria. This is a fabulous destination to see real life in South Africa, in a small town. It is also a great stop off destination before heading to Kruger National Park or travelling further North. We had a fabulous 4 days here as there is so much to see and do. We could have stayed longer and still not seen everything. I would highly recommend The Golden Lantern as a place to stay for it's convenience to Johannesburg Airport and all it has to offer in the area. Weather you are backing, need an over night stay or somewhere to explore for a few days. This place offers everything you will need.

Amazing place to stay. Great accommodation, relaxed pool area and games room decorated in safari style, and super friendly and helpful staff. Located on the edge of town so convenient to walk to shops and bars but also has secure parking. Highly recommended.

Please replace the double bed mattresses. Bed side lamps not working. Suggest a soap dish in the shower. Friendly receptionist. She really tried to accommodate us.

No water for 2 days because "someone" closed off the water. Not nice.

We had a wonderful time at Golden lantern.The accomodation provided everything we needed and we felt at home. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, i really enjoy my birthday.I can definitely recommend this destination.10/10❤️🥰

The service is terrible, we slept on a bunker bed. The lady at the reception doesn’t know anything. We called the manger but she dropped the phone on us!!!!!!! Rooms not so clean aswell. I wouldn’t recommend this place!!!!!

What a terrible service I have received in this lodge. I complained last night that the blanket they gave us is dirty I sent them pictures on WhatsApp, nobody attend to that. I called to ask for an iron, the reception lady told me that I should come and get it myself, she just gave me an iron with out an ironing board. I complained to her, that why she asked me to collect an iron, why they can't bring, and she told me it's just an iron, (where is hospitality and professional service) no value for money. I told her that our blanket we found it dirty and I complained last night and nobody attended to that, she said I'll check, I told her I'm not happy with the service we are getting, she just said ok. We always choose this lodge when we come to Bela Bela, but I don't see myself coming here again. I can't be made to feel like I'm being done a favor, and yet I paid to be here, and there is lot of options around to choose from. This has to change or else it will negatively affect this business. The owner needs to take the staff for customer service training, to better this kind of service we receiving as guests.

I enjoyed every moment and the staff is very friendly and professional. Our weekend stay was from 18-20/12/20 with my cousins 👌👌👌

It was beautiful, affordable and very close to warm bath adventure and you don't feel bad by not sleeping at warm bath as it also has it's own pool, very neat and spacious, and it can cater for many people it also has outside lounge with its own set of kitchen , bathroom and seating table surrounded by heads of animals on the wall, it is truly exceptable

The upper lofts aren't sound proof

I was given a warm welcome and a wonderful orientation by the owner. I am not really happy about the comfort of the bed and the common kitchen. I would like the owner to improve the kitchen and bedrooms. I will definitely revisit this guesthouse in future.

Place needs maintenance, shower drainage at Room 1 was not working and the water was cold as well..

It's such a cool environment nice helpful staff. The pool is gorgeous. I would have liked to see nicer cutlery all white plates. N proper pots n pans since its self catering.

Truly enjoyed my weekend stay here. Francois & Alice were quite hospitable, and willing to go the extra mile. The rooms were quite clean and comfortable, with house keeping each morning to freshen up. The swimming pool is well maintained by a well mannered and pleasant gentleman. The place is overall peaceful, and close to essential amenities.
