This place is BIG! You will be overwhelmed by choice for fabric and the prices are really competitive compared to what you will find in the east of Pretoria. Take a friend with you to make the experience so much more memorable! There are lots of people available to help in the store, Patricia treated me with great smiling care. You can find ample goodies for knitting, embroidery, hat-making and whatever crafty thing you can think of. I was a little bit disappointed in their wool collection. I plan to make most of my future fabric purchases here.

Big store with so many products to buy. Home stuff, accessories, electricals, you name it. Give this place a go.

The online customer support doesn't exist !!! We ordered and paid for items that we then found were not actually in stock and we only found out when we followed up on where the order was... no tracking details sent... order took ages before it was eventually dispatched... the order was then irreparably damaged between poor packing on dispatch and their courier. Now, more than a month after we placed the online order and paid, we are still waiting for a reply to numerous emails, whatsapps and phone calls we have sent to them...

Send my husband to buy material, pay for it.. I get the payment notification and they said it didn't went through! Made him to pay it again as I have now paid twice for the material. Management does not do any effort to assist my husband a client, as we buy there frequently!. This is very bad service! As I send through proof of payment and they did not accept it!

They sell cheap quality fabrics. I bought fabric , made a dress before the day ended the dress was damaged. After spending so much money Requested for a refund they told me they can't help me you buy at your own risk.

Pricing missing from items can be frustrating. Fantastic selection of televisions and related items uniquely available there. Also they have an amazing selection of fabrics. Also appliances, stoves, fantastic models not available anywhere else.

We've been customers for over 20 years and they recently moved the shop inside. You can buy anything from pots and pans to stoves, TVs and all sorts of kitchen goodies. I have found them to stick to their policy of price match. If you show them an official quote from another shop they will match it. They have a huge range of material to choose from. I also like that they are open every day of the year.

The black ladies working there are always so rude and mean, especially to black customers. It was my second time experiencing this type of treatment from a different lady. I went to get material, nobody wanted to assist me in any way. I spent an hour in the store before I could figure out what to do, myself and these other two ladies. They are not friendly, they shout/talk to other customers that they know while you're trying to get assistance, very unprofessional. The one lady messed up my purchase, I ended up being charged 30% more money for materials. So if you're a student/ beginner and have a lot of questions, I wouldn't recommend. I don't know if they are overworked/underpaid, but clearly something needs to be done. I cannot be using my hard earned money to get treated like I'm a statistic.

Lovely fabrics and at very competitive prices too. It is better than oriental plaza. They've done beautiful upholstery job too

Unfortunately I did not read the reviews before making an online purchase from Home Hyper City. I cannot comment on the in-store purchase experience, but the online shopping is terrible. When the phone is answered the people don't understand what you are saying until you start to raise your voice. Item I purchased was actually not available and they said they would replace it with a Defy (the worst brand in South Africa) I said no and requested a refund. Refund was fortunately done in reasonable time and I was able to purchase the same product at the same price from a reputable shop. Save yourself the trouble and rather don't buy online from Home Hyper City. There are many other places that will actually deliver.

Great customer service, and affordable prices. The shop is huge, so it’s nice that I had someone help me find exactly the fabric that I needed. She gave me great advice and was absolutely wonderful.

Home hyper city does not respond to any enquiries that you make by email. I have made numerous enquiries about product availability to them by email, but all in vein. Your emails gets read but never answered.

I can see why people have problems with this store, I am from Dundee and can not just jump in to my car and go to the store, so I sent emails on availability of stock, I'm still waiting on response, all in vain.

The store is located in Pretoria, and I am based in East London - I was ensured 2-3 working days for delivery and received my order 3 days after completing my purchase on their site. To begin with, there’s not enough parking. In addition, the store is a mess. The fabrics are all over the place and you would have to dig your way into finding what you looking for if u are unfamiliar with the store. Furthermore, the assistants sometimes take a lot of time before they can assist you. I’m conclusion, this is not a store to pass by when you in a hurry.

There was not people to assist us to find correct material

I WENT THERE LOOKING FOR A GREY SKIRT (UNIFORM) BUT NO ONE ASSISTED ME.I ENDED UP LIVING BECAUSE THE GUY AT THE DOOR IN A LIGHT BLUE GOLF SHIRT JUST POINTED AND SAID GO AND LOOK OVER THERE BUT I COULDN'T FIND THE BOX HE WAS POINTING AT.I JUST WALKED OUT AND LEFT THE SHOP AS THE SHOP ASSISTANT WAS BUSY TALKING INSTEAD OF HELPING CUSTOMERS. DISAPPOINTED

I used the online chat on the website to order fabric for a matric farewell dress very last minute. JULIE assisted me over a period of 2 days, getting pictures from the shop floor so I can see and compare the different fabrics, she advised and sent me the links for easy ordering, as we worked through the list of requirements. She was always professional and friendly, extremely patient, also very knowledgeable. A great asset to this company! Thank you Julie
