My sister took our 93 and 87 year old parents, my daughter,and I there. She had been there before and also the restaurant in Hawaii. We were all very impressed with the food and drinks, especially the coconut cloud! The service from our server, Emilie, was formidable! We visit many restaurants in San Diego and Emilie was by far the best server we’ve ever had!

I was really interested to see what this clothing store plus bar would be like. A friend and I grabbed a seat at the bar and they have happy hour daily from 3pm to 6pm so we got there right on time. I really liked the mojito and the margarita. I also like the corn dip a lot, it's got some kick to it. I'm not a big fan of malls in general but I'd definitely come back here if I was in the area.

You had me at Coconut Cloud martini and you had my husband at tater tots! In all seriousness though we walked past and noticed this cool outdoor bar and once we saw the me u we knew we had to find a seat. You can walk up, place your order and seat yourself or of space at the bar you can sit there as well. Food and drinks are good and reasonably priced. They have a little something for everyone including a nice variety of non-alcoholic drinks. It was quite busy but the staff was very cool and was always checking up on everyone. Plus in a great spot to people watch!

I had a lot of fun at the marlin bar. Bartender was fun, music was just right for the atmosphere. Whoever the musician was, well he was amazing. My mojitos were made absolutely perfect.

Amazing food, service, and ding experience! Delicious menu and drinks! Had the vegetable bowl, Pina colada cake, grilled burger sliders, Mai Tai! Next to the Tommy Bahama store and other Fashion Valley stores! Restrooms available, super clean dining and restroom, and masks everywhere! Thanks for a great dining experience!

The food was excellent, just the service that was lacking. Didn't feel very welcomed by a few of the staff. It could have just been early so I won't knock them too much.

So nice to have a little bar and grill you can stop in for a break while shopping. Food choices are great and the drinks all looked wonderful. Happy hour is a good time to visit. The employees were friendly. They had live music when I was there. Really made it nice.

Bartender Tom. Was the most rudeness person I have ever experienced. I order a mojito. When he gave me the mojito he threw the straw to the table. I always come here on my lunch break. I have never have had this service. I partner up with one of his colleagues Kayla. I told her about him. Her response was “I know” instead of getting a manager about his demeanor towards customers. I work in customer service myself and this is not good customer service at all.

Wow. We haven't had a dining experience this great in awhile. I expected basic overpriced bar food and drinks. I was so wrong. Every drink we had was one of the best drinks I've ever had. The coconut shrimp and key lime pie were beyond delightful. And the staff brings it all together for a five star experience. My husband commented "this is the best food and drinks I've ever had in a clothing store." So so good, I will be back often.

This is one of my favorite places for happy hour.... The paradiso martini cocktail is to die for! I love the people at the bar as well, shout out to Monica! She is so friendly :))

I had a good experience at the Marlin Bar. It is a different experience than I am used to since I always go to the full service Tommy Bahama's restaurant in N Scottsdale, Arizona. My experience here in San Diego was enhanced by having great communication with Justin the Assistant Manager. He was very polite and articulate. I told him how great the Tommy Bahama's full service restaurant experience is in N Scottsdale, AZ . In my opinion ,I feel Justin would be a great Assistant Manager in N Scottsdale, AZ because he knows how to approach customers and make them feel welcome. I have been going to Tommy Bahama's in N. Scottsdale, AZ since 2010 and I have never seen any real diversity in their management staff. I think it would be a good opportunity to start with Justin. Being in the restaurant business is very hard work and I have seen how hard the staff works at the N. Scottsdale location to provide top notch customer service. I feel on my visit today at the Marlin Bar, San Diego, I got the top notch customer service that I am used to from Justin.

Zach made a great recommendation for the poke bowl. I was skeptical at first because I had it previously and was not a fan. Zach explained the bowl was revamped and much better. He was right looking forward to coming back for more Mai Thais and poke Bowles!!

Angelia and Victor at the Fashion Valley location were hands down AMAZING!!!!!! Their service, their hospitality, their kindness, I can go on and on and on about my experience with them. What I will say is they just got a customer for LIFE! The food was delicious but their service made everything taste even that much better!

Love this place - perfect and convenient spot to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail while the family counterparts are out shopping. :-) They can take hours as far as I’m concerned while I’m sitting here. Food is fresh, and well prepared. Service is quick, fast and pleasant. Shout out to Zach and Ashley for keeping me company while the shoppers shopped; and especially for grabbing the cup of coffee and cream for the Irish!

Noe and Janae (manager) were really friendly and nice. Noe had great recommendations and was attentive without being too much. Food is delicious and seating at the bar is fun with lots of people watching, but there is also patio seating for a little quieter atmosphere.

Update…… I have been here multiple times over the last year. Food is still good as ever. Service is better than ever. Zach and Izzy took care of us. Both were on it and provided awesome service. Thanks for everything. Lots of outdoor seating with heaters and about 20 bar seats. This is the best place to stop in the Fashion Valley Mall. Stop by between 3-6 for Happy hour and get a beer, some cauliflower bites and filet mignon tacos! You will be very happy. Service is very good/friendly and fast.

I’m a huge fan of Tommy Bahamas clothes and their bars… hopefully in some point every store will have their own Marlin Bar

Hello, this very old post below.. I'll be updating today December 9th 2022. I wrote I'll be back to review. Hello GM, thank you for your note. We were there on Tuesday place was packed. My friend haven't been there so we will come back. Really enjoy the environment and been there by myself. Such a refreshing drink and menu. Looks like we better come earlier next time it was around 1:00. New post today December 9th 2022. Finally, was able to get my son here and we had an exceptional lunch and comfortable seating. He had the mango salad with chicken and I had the vegetable bowl with added chicken. Both were absolutely delicious! We go out to eat once a week and usually or not impressed as since covid it seems like many restaurants have not only gone out of business but just aren't producing quality food anymore or staff. Of course, very unfortunate but it's today's reality. He enjoyed his Arnold Palmer and I had a nice bottle of Modelo. Service was quick and food was promptly served within 10 minutes after ordering. It was a very chilly day here in San Diego around 61° and there were heaters in the patio so that made it very comfortable. My son said he was surprised to see a place like this here and thought we were going to the food court LOL not quite my dear.. this was great we'll be back.

I really enjoy coming here, love their happy house and daily special menu. Drinks are literally AMAZING. Staff is great and the menu has great selections very fresh and refreshing.

Really nice experience, everyone has been friendly so far and we received nice recommendations when we explained flavors we didn't enjoy. The drinks are strong and well made, and there's lovely outside entertainment and live bands provided. Great customer service at the bar and at the tables, they consistently check in to make sure you're happy. Emilie, Angelina, Omar, Victor, Kris, Joe and Tom have consistently been checking in with us and others and providing excellent service since we've arrived. Thank you for a great experience!!

Excellent service, great drinks, good energy, and the best salmon salad ever!

This place is amazing! Great food and great drinks ! Monica and Ciera took great care of us and we’re always walking by to make sure we had everything we needed! Will definitely be back! $10 martini day is the bomb! The music was also a plus! Thank you!

Checked out the store and store employees were friendly and wonderful. Also, stopped by the Marlin Bar and grabbed a drink and food this evening. The employees were so friendly and helpful. Its a hybrid service - you place your order at the counter and receive full service restaurant service upon seating. The Mai Tai and Dark & Stormy drinks were strong but tasteful. Ahi Tuna Tacos were tasteful and yummy to start. For entrees, had the Crab Avocado Salad. I would knock a half a star here because the presentation of the salad was a bit weird. It was a mound of lettuce with crab on top. The lettuce was shredded yellow (not green) and the dressing didn't fit the salad. We also ordered the Poke Avocado Bowl and loved it. Would definitely stop in upon my return to Fashion Valley Mall and might skip the salad next time but otherwise the employees and rest of drinks and food were wonderful!

Tommy Bahamas bar has been popping up everywhere and we are fortunate to have one here in San Diego. You can have retail therapy and enjoy food and drinks! Located inside Fashion Valley Mall at the corner next door to Vince and across from Loft. There’s a large u-shape bar seating in the front and tables in the back/side. Live music as well and of course the retail store. Happy hour is daily from 3-6pm at the bar. There’s also daily specials from M-Th for drink and food. I came on a Thursday so it was $6 house Rita which is their lime version. Food was $6 any taco but the filet. You pay and order your first order at the bar. Then sit anywhere. From there, you can order more from your table. We came here for drinks. Got the Rita. It was nice ambiance with live music. Aside from their daily specials, the pricing here is a bit steep but understandable because of the tourist area and the name.
