First off the service is top notch. You get attended to by friendly bar staff. It truly is like a pub. The beer selection is amazing if you love German beer! The food is what me and boys go for. Served up hot. I get the Rahm snitzel with red cabbage. If I'm with more people I get the sampler of their sausages, frankfurter, and brats with sauerkraut. Don't forget to ask for mustard.

Great food, atmosphere, and the service is top notch (Thanks Raul for a great evening and conversation!). It looks a little divey on the outside but worth a visit if you're feeling adventurous or if you're familiar with German food and need to satisfy that craving. Try the sausage platter, brats, the shnitzel, oh and their giant freshly made pretzels (with beer cheese) along with your .5L glass of German beer on tap! The entire menu looks fantastic but I can't eat it all in one sitting unfortunately to know for sure hahaha! And yes, they have Das Boot! Highly recommend it! Prost! 🍺🥨

Food was incredible... and the beer was... well remember the fat kid that loved chocolate in Willy Wonka? And then he fell in the chocolate river before being sucked into that tube? It's that good.

Went in to try the Schnitzel, I ordered the Rahm Schnitzel (they have 4 variations). The best part is that on Monday it's only $4.99 for what you see pictured.....of course I had to try one of their German beers so I had the Hefeweizen. I'll be back to try the other schnitzels soon and some of the other beers.

I had a late lunch at the German Pub with my wife and another couple and we had a great time! Great quality German food, beer, and service. All were on point! My wife and I both got schnitzel. My wife had a side of German salad while I got sides of red cabbage and spatzel. The schnitzel was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and moist and tender inside and lightly coated with a light gravy. The sides were delicious and were wonderful accompaniment to the schnitzel. The red cabbage had a mild sweetness and a perfect spice level. The spatzel was tender but not mushy with a nice brown gravy. All of the meals were served within an acceptable time by an attentive, entertaining hostess and all were generous portions. The hostess was well informed about the food and beer and made good suggestions. There were several German beers on tap as well as a large selection bottled beer. There were also non-beer beverage options. The food and beer were enjoyed in a very comfortable ambiance and made for a delightful, unhurried lunch. If you are looking for something a little different, you should give the German Pub a try!

First time eating at the German Pub, server helped in recommending the dishes for our taste bud pleasures. It was a perfect combination of food and variety of German beer. German military personnel and their families were dinning there, so you know that the food has to be really good! We will be back to try other dishes on their menu!

Excellent selection of German beers. Food is great. These are the same people that ran the German Club on Ft Bliss. Staff is very friendly and prompt. Selena the daytime bartender/server is the best.

LOVED THIS PLACE! The food was delicious, well seasoned, the waitresses know their menu and can answer any question related to German cuisine. The food wasn't greasy or oily. Loved loved loved. Will be returning.

This was my first visit and I couldn't ask for a better experience. This is a very welcoming pub with wonderful service. The decor is spot on, I especially loved the German and American flags and the steins! Today's special was a schnitzel plate for 5.99!!!! What a deal! The food came out hot and delicious! The dessert selection was spectacular, we chose apple strudel with vanilla ice cream, and butter cake with vanilla ice cream. PERFECTLY made. Not too sweet, and way too scrumptious! I asked when Bratwurst was on special... Wednesday, and fish special is Friday. Great lunch visit. Danke Schoen

I knew I needed to find sausages here in El Paso to enjoy in memory of my dear friend Victor S. This platter is called the Quattro! Bratwurst, currywurst, frankfurter, and Nuremberg along with rotkohl and legit sauerkraut- complete with juniper berries. Restaurant only opened a month ago. A Touch of Germany in El Paso, Texas along I-10. Here’s to Vic and our shared love of sausages!

First time here and we were not disappointed. Food was amazing, desert was amazing. The portions are large, so be prepared to either eat it all or have left overs to take home. The atmosphere was cozy. The super awesome lady doing the serving was really friendly. And it looks like they get lots of regulars. We were treated like regulars ourselves. Will definitely come back here soon.

5/5 For Quality, Portion, and pricing.(See menu below) They offer seasonal drafts, a beer sampler (4 11oz assorted selection) for tasting, authentic style German food, a Juke box with a massive playlist, and a nice warm friendly atmosphere. If you're unsure about what to get to drink, please dont hesitate to ask for an actual sample (Small sip cup) before you order. New local favorite so I'll see you there? More L seating pictured under me. Small outside patio. Right next to Food King Hosts small public events (Last was a Nightmare Before Christmas art show) Currently a bad traffic area due to the construction(11.20.19) Pictured below is the currently on sale Holiday Shiner @5.6% in 1Litre for 7$ - hint of orange.

Awesome place! Got the Weihenstephaner Dark beer which is very sweet. German beer would not be what you would expect it to be. It’s not like a stout, it’s delicious dear! The customer service is above and beyond I would definitely come back here!

I went last night for the first time. I had the schnitzel special. The service was exceptional and the food was so good, I might go back tonight. If you look at my reviews, it's very rare I ever give 5 stars. Kudos to you!

First time in this place and it was fun! It was Friday and it was kinda slow. The environment was nice and the waitress was awesome! The music selection is great it has the touchtunes jukebox. I wanted to try a German fruity beer and she served me some German Grapefruit one in the tall glass. It was very refreshing! I also ordered a glass of Dornfelder wine it was very good as well. $$ pricing , but the environment and staff make it worth it. I will definitely be back!!

German pub never misses. They only have a few draft beers but the ones they have are delicious and very German style as you'd expect, but they have one for every palette. They have great deals all week long. Pretzels as appetizers and schnitzel plates are my go-to.

If you're a fan of German food, this is the spot. From the spaetzle to the schnitzel and all biers in between. Highly recommend the jaeger schnitzel or the fish and chips

I would say, they meet the requirements. Almost like native taste (Schnitzel and Spätzle with Sauce) and great beer (tall Oktoberfest Beer :-) ) Definitely good for a next time visit! Thanks

Great place to hangout and get some German food and beer. I ordered the schnitzel with lemon and fries. Food was served hot and tasted delicious 😋. The waitress checked on us a couple of times. It was not busy when we went.

Under new ownership, it is now called "Taste of Germany" and it does not disappoint. The atmosphere is very like that of my favorite places touring Europe and the food is fantastic. The Tuesday special is Schnitzel and potato salad for $6. Served promptly with attentive waitstaff throughout the meal. This is more than I can say for chain restaurants like where-da-burger that charge $12 for a fist sized chicken sandwich and make you wait trapped in line after you get it. Even though their liquor liscense is pending, I will certainly be rerurning Sunday for their "Sunday Funday" all you can eat schnitzel special.

Best German Food in El Paso

  • 3/5 Daniel S. 4 years ago on Google
3 out of 5 Stars due to the following: False advertising. Not authentic German (but not that bad either) I follow the restaurant on Facebook because I have lived the past 3 years in Europe and absolutely love authentic German food. Today they posted this picture of a "Social Distancing" Growler which is fantastic marketing. I commented asking if this was actually available to buy. I recieved a reply from Tortas Mexico y Mas which stated "yes sir". I thought it was weird that an entirely different restaurant would respond to not just my own comment but to other comments in the same post as well. It raised my suspicion that possibly it's under the same ownership and the person with social media access forgot to change it's login from one restaurant to the other to respond to the correct restaurant's comments. I arrived at the German Pub and saw that literally right next to it was the restaurant Tortas Mexico y Mas which resolved my suspicion. Once inside, the restaurant was smaller than I thought it would be but not bad and does have a lot of German beer. The workers were Mexican and not German (surprise its El Paso ?, I would be absolutely shocked if it were otherwise. Usual only occurs from prior service members bringing back authentic German to the US and open a restaurant. Extremely rare but does happen), and the food (jagerschitzel) was decent, but the batter could use some work to taste better and more authentic. Now the Growler. It's a plain brown glass Growler. When I confronted the worker about posting the specialty bottle and not having it, he said they just grab pics from goodle. Which is normally fine, but they should state something at the end such as *specialty growler not included*. Nor should they have anyone confirm what is not true on social media in order to get customers. Not a big issue, but a disappointing business model nonetheless.

I have always passed by and wanted to stop by, I'm so upset I havent gone by earlier! I believe the owner was serving us really nice lady. We had a few beers and bratwurst. Bratwurst is definitely something to eat with beer. Will definitely make this a place of mine to go regularly from now on. Small pub, good staff, good food.

While place has a much larger menu than the other German places in town the food is no better than the rest. The schnitzel is good but the pommes were cold and tasted like industrial cleaner even when covered with mushroom gravy. Unless you live nearby not really worth it.

I seek out German restaurants most places I go, and I’m very pleased with the sausage trio here, and the Bavarian potato salad is the best I’ve ever had. El Paso prices are great as well. Look forward to coming back for more.
