Great gastro pub with a very nice beer selection. I would definitely recommend visiting The Hoppy Monk while you are in El Paso. The gochujang cauliflower "wings" were seriously tasty and my beers were a perfect fit for my food selection. Pay this place a visit!

Amazing beer selection, also huge selection of tequila and liquor. Food was very good, far better than most bar food. Bartender is very friendly. Patio is dog friendly, but we haven’t taken the pup yet. We’ve already been twice (and we’ve been in El Paso less than two weeks).

🍔 BEST burgers in El Paso! 🍔 This is the only bar/restaurant I will make the drive from Las Cruces to enjoy the good beer, burgers and ambience. I have been a customer here since they opened and it was here that I discovered my favorite beer (it was one of their rotators at the time). Hoppy has the best burgers in the area in my opinion with the Bacon & Egg burger being my favorite. The kitchen is consistent in quality and taste of the food. The matcha Brussels sprouts are also amazing. 🤤 They have a very large selection of beer too which is nice for someone like me who can rarely find a good stout year-round. The staff is always great and there has never been a long wait for food. My only complaint is that smoking is allowed in the outdoor dining area. I feel that restricting smoking in that area would make the patio a perfect place to enjoy a burger and beer while enjoying El Paso's glorious summer evenings.

The fish and chips are great. The best I have had in a very long time!!! Can't wait to go again and try different things. Round 2 - food is great!!!!

Hoppy Monk is either a large bar with a full menu or a tiny restaurant with a full bar. Either way they have great vegan options. From the spicy cauliflower wings, to the balsamic brussel sprouts with apples and walnuts, to the pomme frites with herbs and sea salt, everything was delicious! Sitting at the bar provided great conversation with the bartenders and the occasional drink taste-test from what they were making.

We come here everytime we come to El Paso! Don't miss out on this world class tap house. Good food and cocktails too!

Aloha from da BIGPAKE; so looks like I found another great gem in this area. This place has one of the best atmospheres with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a great sandwhich and burger menu . You can even smoke cigars outside if that's something yiu are into, which I did on my visit. Plenty of parking as well. The wait staff is on top of things 100% and know there menu well. Only negative was for me would be to have more appetizers on the menu for people who want to just hangout but want things to munch on. I have always found popcorn, chips, chicken bites or some sort of fish ger foods are the best. But that's just me. Def a place you have to checkout soon. They also have some great drinks and will smoke your whisky drinks if you want.

I visit the Hoppy monk frequently. I love that they have a huge variety of draft and bottle beer. They also have ciders, wine, whiskey and a whole bunch of alcaholic beverages. The service is always great and personnel it's familiar with the beers and other type of alcaholic beverages, so don't hesitate to ask if you have questions or want recommendations. The food is always very good and flavors are consistent everytime. My family loves to go on the weekends for the brunch. The place is always very clean, the music it's jus perfect and they also have outdoor seating. This is one of my favorite places to spend some time with friends to have a good chat and as well as enjoying a nice beer. The prices are a a little high but keep in mind you are getting quality beer. The only downside is the parking lot. It is not really big and since the place is very good most of the time it's crowded. Overall it is a wonderful place and they have daily specials. Totally worth it!!!!!!!

Horrible service. Seriously the worst service I’ve experienced in years. Servers avoid people, our waiter must have been high or drunk. Sad because they carry an awesome selection of brew and their food is awesome. Give the cooks a raise fire the staff!

Our go to for date night or drinks! The service is always helpful, kind, and tentative. The food is “just enough” the servings aren’t too big and the beer is constantly changing. There is always enough variety for both my husband and I to find something great. The picture is lox avocado toast and a flight of IPA, tripels, and a stout.

I recently discovered The Hoppy Monk and it’s quickly becoming my new favorite. Every time we go, we have to order the cauliflower wings. The sauce and texture of the cauliflower is just amazing. They offer a huge beer selection (a great variety of beverages are on tap too), some cocktails, and the food is just spectacular. I’ve tried two burgers, the ribeye sandwich, and the Reuben. I’m impressed with every visit. Depending on the night, service can be hit or miss, but generally everyone is friendly and accommodating. I love coming here.

Loved the experience! I was obviously the oldest one in the bar by far, but the atmosphere was fun & pleasant. The food was really good! Waitresses were very friendly and for the most part, service was good. At some point, our waitress simply spent more time chatting than waiting on her customers. For all the beers & spirits they list (an impressive list to be sure, with some whiskey rarities that you don't see often. Some of those listed rare whiskeys also are priced higher per pour than most people I saw could afford!), I was disappointed in the Long Island Iced Tea I ordered - very blah in terms of taste or liquor actually in the glass. I absolutely expected far better from this place! My son had a tequila flight, which he enjoyed. This was the first bar I have been too (not a bar kind of girl), but I really liked this place. I spotted it as we were looking for a coffee shop and thought it had a cool name! My son is a whiskey aficionado and when I saw their spirits list, I thought we should go! Turned put to be a good choice! Would definitely go back next time I drive to El Paso!

A place that is pricey and has only one desert option I get it's a bar but hope n anchor and sabertooth blow this joint off the grid

So the food is good, the selection of drinks was great, but it was very crowded indoors and we were immediately seated outdoors by the staff. I could understand if they asked considering the wait but i feel more like it was a discriminatory move. In the 2 hours we were there only one couple was seated outdoors and because they had a German Shepherd with them.

I had some awesome rabbit tacos. The fries were fried to perfection, golden and crisp. The smoked Oaxacan old fashion was a good cocktail. I didn't quite like the old fashion, but that's on me. If you like bitter sweet cocktails then it's for you.

Always consistently good food. A small menu so everything appears to be fresh. Burgers are always spot on medium. Service is friendly and efficient. A great selection of beers. My only critique is that the beer needs to be served colder. A place that specializes in beer should always have extremely cold tap beers and glasses. Half the time my beer has only been cool and not frosty. Glasses are never pre-chilled. The parking lot and driveway to enter and exit is a bit of a mess. Overall a great place and worth giving it a try.

Great service. Great decor. Great space. Many beers on tap with great taste. All my friends' dishes looked yummy and they were very pleased. I had my first rabbit and it was fantastic. Partly for the right mix of ingredients, partly for the tenderness of the rabbit. Good thing there are many around. The cocktails are also amazing as well. Pamplemousse Cooler is refreshing and great for a sunny day. Russian Mummy was worth the wait, not heavy on the milk and vodka.

Wow I’m completely blown away by the incredible selection of beers, whiskies and tequilas. Did you know that you can get a flight of them as well. Also, their burgers are some of the best I’ve had so far in El Paso. The place is also absolutely beautiful inside. Definitely a must visit you will not be disappointed.

Tons of beers on tap. Food was good. My hamburger bun was stale,and I was missing the blue cheese crumbles. My hubs fish and chips was good. Great staff and Atomosphere. The patio was nice. Go here for a good drinking night!

Wonderful atmosphere right off the bat. Greeted kindly. The bartender was enthusiastic and awesome immediately (s/o to Danny). He knew his beers and liquors and was able to direct me down the right path even when pretty busy. Every drink I had was wonderful and the food was phenomenal (if they ask if you want the red pepper sauce, you do). Next time I am in El Paso, I will make a concerted effort to get back here. True 5/5 stars.

The burgers are excellent. I am giving 3 stars because the online menu they had on their site showed a decent selection of hard cider, we arrived to find the “new normal” QR code menu, which is fine. The issue; it was completely different and had ONE hard cider… No excuse for your website menu to differ from in restaurant when it is electronic. The other issue was overpriced mixed drinks that were 2/3 to 3/4 ICE!

Lotsa cold independent beer on tap, extensive liquor menu and some fun menu items. Our whole table ordered the rabbit tacos (my first time eating rabbit) and they were really good. The only cons are the lack of parking and on a cold night it gets really packed and pretty cavernous noisy in side with no one wanting to use the patio. However, we didn’t have to wait for a table and the service was quick, attentive, and friendly

I heard a lot of good things about this place. The owner even got a great review in one of the local TV stations. Here is my experience in this bar restaurant on a Saturday night. The parking situation can get critical at this location. First time visiting the place. I had no idea what type of food this place served. The menu can be confused to understand it. Prices are not up to date. The place was so busy that the waitress was not explaining too well about the menu. I finally realized that this place is excellent for vegan eaters. The mushroom tacos were excellent and a little expensive. The place is well known for the so many variations of beer that can be overwhelming. College crowd for sure. Overall, I felt out of place because I fit in the middle age crowd, It was a little expensive but excellent food.

My gf and I were looking for a place to eat late around 10 pm the night before thanksgiving, this was the only place open we could find. They have a large selections of beers here, myself and gf got one and were both satisfied. We started with the soft pretzel and it was okay, just a regular pretzel-not too salty not too little salt. I had the Adobo quesadillas for an entree, they were good, very greasy though. My gf had the roasted green chile and asadero burger (the waiter said it was his favorite) it was really good, I recommend this for sure. Service here was great and they were really nice. Would recommend. Thankful they were open when no one else was.

Food and drinks were great! They had both vegan options and non-allergenic options which is nice touch for a bar. It only received 4 stars from me because the server wasn't very attentive.

I frequent Hoppy Monk about twice a month and usually with a group of 2-5 other people. It is always a great experience here! Good drinks, vegan friendly food, and I love the server I usually get, Matt! The drinks here are unique and delicious, the food is well worth the price, and I am always served quickly and precisely.

Great beer selection! Many unique draft beers. They feature beers by independently owned craft breweries. The good here is great as well. Twists on the same old "bar food". This place is correctly billed as a "gastropub"!

I only had the wings, and the sauce was very tasty. Not your typical buffalo vinegar flavors. More complex elevated buffalo sauce with a smoke, very slightly sweet savory flavor. The house ranch complimented the wings very well. My friend had the cheeseburger and it looked amazing, very juicy but did not actually taste it. He approved it to being very juicy and tasty. I will be going back to try it myself.. more to follow. Also has a great selection of beer.

Great food but is really small so it’s not good to be shareable, they have a really big variety of beer and good music.

I really enjoyed the food here and LOVED the strawberry beer. It's the best I've had. Great burgers for meat eaters and vegans. Sever was friendly but took awhile to get our checks back to us. It's a loud busy bar so prepare for that. Lots of seating.

This is a DRINKs spot only!!!! The food is underwhelming for sure if you are a major foodie. Nothing was delivered hot! Crowded spot on a Saturday. The rabbit tacos were dry. The wings were not hot. The fries were soggy and the Brussel sprouts were flavorless. I would say this spot for beer only and liquor!

The fish and chips are outstanding in quality and price If you're in the mood for beer but feeling full or on a diet.. Grab the mini pills!!
