An iconic place sitting on the banks of the Rio Grande River that is the home of the famous Marty Robbins song. Very nice layout of bar and tables. Food is out of this world spectacular. I had the beef with red chile sauce with flour tortillas. Chef is from El Paso and cooks food with a lot of love. Country music played throughout. Lone Star beer with food highly recommended. Excellent service..

I grew up listening to the music of Marty Robbins on my dad's 8 track tapes. Fast forward 30 years, and we stopped on a road trip through El Paso just so I could see the place Marty Robbins sung famous. We arrived at night only to find the place had closed. Thankfully Claudia saw us outside and opened back up so we could have a few beers, walk around and check out the ambience, and buy some swag. Claudia even played "El Paso" so we could drink and sing along. It was one of our favorite experiences on our trip, and we really felt what Texas hospitality was all about thanks to Claudia.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. Ordered enchilada plate and mole plate. They come with beans and rice and a complimentary bowl of soup 🍲 all wonderful. They sell souvenirs, aprons, t-shirts and shot glasses. This place has a lot of history, back in the days of Marty Robbins. He wrote and sang the song, " El Paso " about a girl he met in Rosa's Cantina. Lots of memorabilia posted on walls. Great place👍

Had an amazing time here. Really good authentic Mexican food with a fun atmosphere! People eating, drinking and singing. Had to buy some time waiting for a friend to arrive at the airport. It was the perfect place to spend a few hours. The staff were friendly and very professional with fun vibes all around. Can’t wait to come back again!

A really friendly and welcoming atmosphere. This appears to be a favorite of the biker crowd. There was a diverse crowd of bikers, families and couples. The servers were great. The food dishes were reasonably prices and delicious.

Masking is NOT enforced, and is effectively optional. Which is completely lawful as of March 10, 2021 and in a business' rights, see Texas' Governor Executive Order GA-34. The place has been getting a face lift over past couple years I have stopped by. Still has the table covers that are not exactly my style, but hey not my place or directly my price to pay. Nonetheless looks great. It is true though, the bathroom situation needs help, the portables outside direly needed to be emptied when I visited as the "liquids" inside were almost brimming the main hole making them practically useless. Come for the drinking, as it has a good atmosphere for a Sunday bike ride stop. I recommend this place for that and sometimes live music. The food, the food, I know the owners mean well and the reviews applaud the food. But, have to admit I was NOT impressed. Martha's Famous burrito relied heavily on the outside sauces for flavor; when unwrapped and the meat was tasted directly is lacked seasoning and was not very high grade product, the same cuts that tend to leave one wanting more natural flavor but just less portions then one would receive from Rafa's burritos. In their defense they did not put tons of potatoes like other restaurants tend to do, and I am not a "wet" burrito type of person, plenty of people are as I know it is a thing especially in southern California. So if you into to that and think $9 is worth it, well give it a shot. See picture for better assessment. Overall recommend to give it a chance and you may be impressed overall with a nice spot for drink and even a bite to eat.

Marty Robbins is the historical figure that made this place famous in the Wedtern Town of El Paso. What really makes this place famous is the locals. Quick to strike up a conversation. Bartenders always put on Marty's music on the jukebox. Great live music. Dance floor to kick up your boots. Enjoy every single visit! Bring the whole family. Great selectiontion of food. Lots if room fir the kids. Make sure you tip well, it is greatly appreciated!! Herr again and again and again!

My husband's idea to go there and our daughter's name is Feleena because Marty Robins song. Food was good; to me it was very tex-mex, staff was very friendly. The place is small but very lively, one thing that was horrible was the smell outside.

I love the place and how they remodeled it! The open ceilings without the ceiling tiles make the place look so much bigger. The decor is nicer and simpler, it seems. The stage for the bands is now in a much better place, in the Southwest corner of the place instead of the North Wall, opening up the floor a lot more. The food is really good. It was good before, but seems so much better now. The men's bathroom, which was previously disgusting at best, is now much bigger, with no more trough urinal next to the sink -- they have three separate urinals made out of old beer kegs, which is pretty cool. And now they have two toilet stalls instead of one next to the trough and sink, with doors and walls that you can no longer look over just by standing up next to it, giving people a bit more privacy. Yeah, the place is soooo much better now than before, and I really don't mind the drive from the east side now. Great job, Rosa's!

Worth the stop! You’ll fall in love with the great drinks, perhaps a Mexica girl, and definitely the feel of old El Paso.

I went because of the song El Paso by Marty Robbins and it didn't disappoint I loved the feel of the cantina and the beer that I got was delicious I would definitely recommend this place even if it is just to check it out and they also have souvenirs I ended up buying a flask with Rosa's Cantina written on it.

In a town that has a lot of good Mexican restaurants, I thought the food would be better. The portions were very small and the food was bland. The singer/guitarist who was performing did very well… he sang El Paso, and that was the best part of our whole visit to Rosa’s Cantina.

I popped into Rosa's Cantina on Saturday night, 9/16/2023. The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful, the food was absolutely wonderful, and the music by The Rockabilly Strangers was beyond absolutely wonderful. I had the Martha's Burrito, rice/beans/potatoes/shredded beef topped with a TO DIE FOR red chile sauce. I'll be eating this again, most likely real soon. And if you've never heard The Rockabilly Strangers, go to Facebook and follow them. They are an amazing band that plays everything from rockabilly, country, 50's rock and roll............you just never know what you will hear next. Great musicianship.

I visited Rosa's Cantina while on a short trip to El Paso, having been a lifelong Marty Robbins fan. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic, the music was awesome, and the whole atmosphere was homey and warm. I wish I had a place like this nearby to me! Thank you Rosa's Cantina for an excellent evening!

The food was ok, but no something we would go back for. The salsa was spicy but it had no flavor at all plus the iced tea was bland as well. We got nachos expecting cheesy nachos but it only had shredded cheese which is not what you want for nachos. Wish the waitress would've told us how big it was so we can get the smaller option since it was only for two of us too. The tacos were basically the same thing as the nachos we got so not that happy with our 1st time visit. The beans and restrooms were the really the only thing we liked.

I wanted to visit this place due to the song and wasn't expecting much in terms of the food. Good thing, as it turns out. Both my, and the wife's, meals arrived only slightly above room temperature. The waitress came by, asking "How is everything?" I told her and to her credit, she took a meal off the tab we paid. The canned Tecate was, as always, excellent.

One of the few places in town with local musical talent. Very casual and mostly locals and an occasional tourist that saw it in a guide review. Food is great and good prices. May not be the best place to go after dark because it is sort of out of the way but if you go accompanied it is great fun. Be aware that it is almost always packed but most people don't mind you sharing their table. A lot of Marty Robbins memorabilia on the walls and there is swag that is fun for sale. Friendly staff. One of my favorite places.

This was the first time I've been here and I from El Paso! I was expecting the inside to look something like it was in the 1940's when they built the building. But it was all renovated. It looks really nice but like I said I was hoping for the history aspect. The food was good. The service was even better.

I’ve been listening to El Paso by Marty Robbins for years, but I didn’t know there was an actual Rosa’s Cantina! On a recent trip to California from Georgia, I passed through El Paso and had to stop in for a meal. Try the Chile beef “Christmas style” and you’ll get both red and green versions with rice & beans just like in the picture. Delicious! They also have memorabilia like hats and shirts, so of course I ended up with a hat and a fridge magnet. Don’t forget to play the famous song on the jukebox so the staff can hear it one more time!
