World Famous Kentucky Bar & Grill

Bar

👍👍 About 2 blocks from the bridge, easy in/easy out. The food is good and the drinks are cold. The famous margarita is good and only 50 pesos or $2.50 US. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. They have a couple of TVs with sports games on. The history is there, just sit back, relax and enjoy!... People often mention good, great, Great, drinks, margarita, visit, Margarita, friendly, nice, Kentucky,

People said that it's kind of dangerous to visit here, if that's the case, I would say the same thing to all the bars that I ever visited. When we arrived bere at the lovely weekend afternoon, a police literally gave way for us. This is a nice and chilling place to spend your 1+ hours at the afternoon, tourists around, beers and snacks served, while the traditional Mexican band music is on. Strongly recommend their Alitas Kentucky (Kentucky Wings), deep fried chicken legs dipped with Tabasco sauce and mayo, either a Pina Colada or a Modelo cold beer will always go well with it.

This is such a cool place, its history is super rich. As a bartender, retired now, named "Hencho" Hernandez invented the Margarita back in 1942 while working here. If that wasn't cool enough a reason to pay a visit it was a favorite hangout spot of Marilyn Monroe, Jim Morrison and Elizabeth Taylor. So, many stars frequented the location in the past. The margaritas are not the only thing goid here, the food was great as well.

Great historical dive bar. This is the birth place of the margarita so make sure you have some when you come. Service is always great and music is good too. You can listen to what you want because they have a jukebox. If you’re coming from El Paso you can park your vehicle downtown and walk across the port of entry. You’ll be in Kentucky Bar in less than a minute after walking into Mexico. I really enjoyed my visit. It was a cool atmosphere.

When liquor was banned in the U.S. during prohibition, you simply walked across The River to find freedom! The "Original" Margarita, and their other naturally-flavored interpretations, are made with high-quality liquor, and real lime juice and sugar, unlike the chemically processed facsimilies found elsewhere! The Margarita Tamarindo, and the Mango Margarita are highly recommended. The food was excellent too... pubfare, with a "Mexican" theme... or more specifically, a "Juarense" theme: the Mexican Shrimp Cocktail and the cheeseburger will leave you feeling full, and perfectly content, pairing excellently with your Margarita(s) of choice. Service was attentive, and friendly. ¡Muchisimas gracias! 'Happy Hour' starts early in lively Cd. Juárez... ¡Salud!

This place is awesome! You can experience the original margarita here! Th architecture is beautiful as well. The people that run this place are very nice an accommodating as well! Brush up on your Spanish before ordering, it can get a bit loud in there.

Second time coming here. This time I got to bring some of my closest friends from out of town to experience a bit of Juarez's history. Ordered the world-famous Margaritas and a round of Banderas (1 shot of clamato, 1 tequila, 1 of lime juice). Had an amazing time, the servers were great and made sure our table stayed presentable the whole time.

If you're going to Juarez, doing all your research, trying to act like you're not a bit uneasy, hoping you will be leading a good adventurous visit, Kentucky Club is fantastic. Beautiful bar! Excellent drinks!! The original margarita really is great and not a tourist trap. Theodore, our bartender, was gracious, friendly and a great historian! KC is close to bridge and bilingual if you need help.

A Ciudad Juárez institution since 1920. What can I say that hasn’t been said. The world famous Kentucky club. Get a margarita, the chicken wings and listen to some norteño. Worth the trip

The wife and I stopped at this restaurant. Did like the music and my wife enjoyed her tacos, but me I had to order a club sandwich 🤦🏻not good. I will definitely order Mexican!

This is where it all began; the Margarita. As this bar claims this is where this popular drink was created back in the day. Popular amongst locals and internationals since 1920, this bar is an obligated stop when visiting Ciudad Juarez. The staff is very attentive and will make you feel like at home.

They claim it's the original. It very well could be true. Best margarita I've ever had though. Very cool and historic bar right on the border.

Decent little place. Bartenders were a little slow with taking orders but nothing too drastic. Didn't try a margarita but the wings were good. This place is definitely catered to the Americans who wander over the bridge.

Super close to the bridge. EZ in EZ out. Tried the burgers here and the are SOFT in all the best ways. Fries are good. Drinks are good. And the red enchiladas are bomb. Perfect cusomer service. It helps to know basic Spanish, of course.

We love this bar. We try to visit this place every time we cross into Juarez thru the downtown port of entry. First opened in 1920 and is still very popular. It has the original wooden bar that was brought on a ship from France. It is known to have been visited by famous people like Al Capone and Liz Taylor among others . It is said that the famous drink "Margarita" was invented here. Can't remember how the story goes but you can find it on the wall at the bar among other interesting facts.

Great place to go visit, have a drink and eat. Me gusta mucho este lugar! Very easy to find and right across from the border entry. Parking was easy along the street or there are parking areas. Plenty of drinks to choose from, chips and salsa while you wait your order, food was hot and fresh, bathrooms were nice and the atmosphere inside was very good with kids or without its a place to go try. I brought the kids and there were other kids inside as well. Even had some live street music come inside and play requested songs, sounded great. My waiter Oscar was very nice. Will go again!

The service was good and the place had a nice feel to it. It is a bit touristy but worth a stop. The Margaritas were good but a bit too citrusy for my taste.

Nice place to grab a drink and a bite. We prefer the outside tables. Inside gets loud if someone strikes up the jukebox. Good food and good prices. Usually there is lots going on to watch outside when there is a lineup of cars heading over the bridge.

The venue was very authentic and nostalgic. The owner is very proud of his establishment and shoes that he cared about his customers. We had two beers and queso fundido with green chile. It was delish and we will definitely be going back!!

It's right across the border and a great experience! We asked for shots and the glasses they brought us were like double shots! Food was great too!! It was just weird that they didn't serve flautas.

😐 Overpriced .. 30 dlls 2 buffet an 1 beer and pay extra for a coffee. They only have wings, pizza and sushi and a small bar salad. Not going back there .. you can find better places in Juarez for that price
