Family had been here 20+ years ago when they lived in El Paso. They told us to try to stop by if we had time while on a short trip and we’re glad we did. 5PM on a Saturday and no wait. We ordered a 2-meat (turkey/pork ribs) and 3-meat (turkey/sausage/brisket) substituting a baked potato for the sides. All were very tasty. Make sure to splurge on the homemade bread - hot & fresh! We ended with bowls of chocolate and vanilla ice cream. We thought about the all you could eat but what we had was plenty. Waitstaff was very friendly and our food was out quickly. Great place for BBQ in El Paso!

We came in around 1 or 2 with a party of 12-15 or so. The restaurant exterior appears old and run down. I didn’t have high expectations based on that. Interior was decorated with a plethora of western wares. We were seated in a side room which consisted of folding tables with a covering. Very outdoor picnic style. I would imagine they had normal tables elsewhere, but this room was likely for the larger tables. The menu isn’t complicated. I got the 3-meat combo for around $20. I got the sausage, lean brisket, and fatty brisket. Rolls were provided, but I’m not sure if they were fresh baked rolls, or store bought. So, not very impressive. The sausage was tremendous. The brisket missed the mark slightly, but I’m picky about brisket. The lean had a great flavor, but was dry. The fatty was much more juicy for obvious reasons, but was sort of bland. The BBQ sauce was pretty good, but they only provide a small cup. I would have preferred more sauce. Staff was friendly and accommodating, but didn’t come around very frequently, or I would have been able to ask for more sauce. I’d probably go back, but I’d probably skip getting both briskets, and try something else. It was good, not great. I’d probably also considering trying a different BBQ place in the area too, but I’d come back here if it was where everyone else wanted to go.

Our food was amazing. Marbled brisket plate, Loaded baked potato with smoked sausage and brisket queso. Everything was so good. Waitress was friendly. Our only complaint was the chips were extremely stale and they were the concession stand nacho type chips. If they upgraded to a better quality chip and keep them fresh I would have given them a 5 star. Will definitely be back.

So I got the smoked peppered turkey sandwich with beans and coleslaw, each of my party got the marbled brisket sandwich, the pulled pork baked potato and the 5 meat combo. The turkey was delicious and just moist enough not to be dry. The coleslaw was okay but not what I'm used to. The beans just a bit bland and needed more slow cooked juice. Comments from the rest of my party included, baked potato was a bit dry, the 5 meat dish was scrumptious and the marbled brisket sandwich was smoky and super tender. Two of us got the peach cobbler ala mode. It wasn't my Mom's peach cobbler but it was okay. They also have side door liquor store attached and my buddy found a bottle of whiskey for a gift that he hasn't found in the last three cities we have been in. Each of us got a Stateline BBQ t-shirt as well. Staff including waitress, barmaid and manager were friendly. I'd go back to try a different dish.

Really enjoyed our meal! My parents shared one and I ordered a full meal. We barely finished it all. Meals are big, delicious and staff very friendly. We will definitely come back!

The beef ribs are super good. A good smoky flavor just perfect I’m not a smoke flavor person but these were perfectly cooked. The ribeye was a bit dry even though it was medium rare. Margarita really good also. Peach cobbler a la mode was delicious! Overall really good atmosphere.

We returned to 915 and it had been a while since we had EP BBQ which is different than North Dallas BBQ. The 3 monkies were left with grandma and the parents went to the State Line. The State Line is located on the border of Texas and New Mexico. There is plenty of parking in the front of the building and the dinning area is big. We arrived early in the day and it was empty which allowed this fat guy to order the all you can eat plate with 6 meats. The wife kept it conservative and ordered the BBQ sandwich. Before the meal, warm bread was brought to the table and that started my weight to go up quick. It was good. Our server brought me the sides, beans, slaw, and potatoe salad. Then the animal farm arrived. The beef ribs were on point with the BBQ sauce adding an extra something to it. The turkey was dry and brisket had enough fat to have flavor. OHHH my, did I need a crane to get out? Yet, I felt a pain in my chest, not because of all the animal flesh I ate, or because I got fatter, it was the bill. If we would have brought the boys my credit card would have been declined. The total for 2 was $66 plus tip. Look if you're in El Paso you need to stop there to eat its a must.

Our first time here and last. Hard and cold pork ribs. The beef ribs were ok, nothing to go home and talk about. The service was really nice but good service in a restaurant does not justify paying for poorly cooked or tasting food. I did get offered a new cut but I was not impressed with the taste or flavors of any of the food so I said no. The best food in El Paso will probably be from a friend’s home cooking. People who care about the quality of their food will make an effort to supervise their kitchen a lot better.

My wife and I finally were close by The State Line around lunch time, so we decided to go check it out. I will say this, the best thing to us both is the fresh homemade bread. By far so of the best bread I have ever had. Has far as the meats and sides, they were good but at the same time, it wasn’t what it had been hyped up to be. The sausage had good flavor and more smoke flavor than the other meats. The other meats had a slight smoked flavor to very little smoked flavor. The slaw, potato salad and beans were all just what you would think they are. Nothing special. The State Line does give a military discount which is always appreciated. We said we would go back if we were in the area again but we wouldn’t make a trip out of the day to go back. Go try The State Line for yourself though. We smoke a lot of foods at our house and we might like more smoked flavor than others. Overall, it was a good experience and the food was good, not dried out or over/undercooked.

The food was delicious. Tender meats- brisket, chicken, ribs, sausage. Rustic, homey atmosphere. The price is right for the amount of food you get. Pay the extra and try the homemade bread. The only bad seed of today's experience was our glum server. She was not friendly or attentive. Had it been other wise, the experience would have earned a 5, however we'd return again!

My husband and I had a lunch date, the food was good and my drink was on point. It’s always nice to have a little get away. The only down fall was the flavorless bread and butter. Other then that everything was good.

This restaurant has been in El Paso for as long as I can remember. It's always mentioned when talking about bbq joints to try. I hadn't been in several years and decided to go back to reminisce. Got the 2 meat platter, peppered turkey, and brisket. Came with cole slaw, beans, and tater salad. Everything was pretty good, I'd say the turkey had better flavor than the brisket. The basket of bread they provide while you wait is so good that we inhaled it long before our food got to the table. The iced tea was refreshing. The ambiance and decor are the same as I remember it as a child. Service was a bit slow. It was nice and quiet when we went. Even though it's not the best bbq in El Paso, I'd still come to enjoy the outdoor music. It's great for large parties of people. Give it a try!

Being from Mexico, we don't get really good bbq spots, but I can say the St Louis Ribs here are phenomenal, and their white bread is superb

I went Saturday and our party had two 5 meat plates and I ordered the "rib eye". My steak was a sirloin and was EXTREMELY TOUGH and the brisket on the 5 meat plates was DRY and TOUGH!!! We were the guests of a good friend and did not want to complain. I subsequently called and spoke to the Manager who DID NOT CARE!! He did NOTHING!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! There are too many other places with better BBQ and steak!

Really great job by the server, I felt like he was always a step ahead of me. I've been on a low carb diet and came here for a cheat meal and ate like two loafs of bread and 10 scoops of butter. Amazing. The beef ribs were good too.

  • 2/5 Cosmo D. 1 year ago on Google
We've been here many times, food was always amazing. This time, the queso, was obviously overheated and looked weird, the beef ribs had no flavor, the pork ribs had no flavor, the brisket (both types) lacked flavor. There was a nice smoke ring, but not one bit of smoke flavor. It tasted like leftovers from 3 days ago. The bread was good, the drinks were cold, and our server Patricia was amazing. I give 0 stars for the food, 2 stars for the cold drinks, and two thumbs up an awesome tip to Patricia for her great service.

An El Paso icon, and proud member of the County Line family of Texas BBQ eateries. Covid has emptied a few tables, but quality and service standards are as high as ever. Rustic indoor dining and outdoor beer garden, entertainment venue and reservation areas for large private gatherings. Offers take-out and 3rd party divery. Historically popular catering resource too. We all had thier 2 meat plates today w plenty of leftovers. Dust off the Lazy Boy. A cold brew and your dreaming about your next visit.

If Texas is known for BBQ this place makes Texas proud! Had the 5 meat sampler (shown in picture) and it was delicious. Staff was efficient and friendly. Highly recommend if you're in the El Paso area.

Some things were great and somethings were just good. Overall, positive experience. This was a weekday evening so service and wait times were quick. Prices are on par w similar in town. A+: sausage, Turkey, homemade bread, potato salad A-: coleslaw, bbq sauce B: wet brisket, beans, potato, chicken

The vibe of the place is great, the food is pretty good. I liked the turkey more than the beef or pork. The barbecue sauce is way too clove forward for my taste. The men's bathroom does not have dividers between the urinals, so watch out for your bbq hot links.

First off, I would like to make a HUGE shout out to our waiter, Julian. He was super tentive, very kind, and never had any issues when we asked for anything. We had a party of 7 with 2 kiddos, and there was not one moment where we had to ask for refills. He had such a great attitude and never forgot anything we requested. Thank you Julian, you are truly what we need more of in the customer service world!! The food also came out very quickly and was super delicious!!! Such a great experience all around.

Tyler R is what gave this place a 5 star. Food was average for smokehouse. Tyler was quick and polite. He had great service skills. Food came out quickly and was hot. Food had a smoke flavor to it bit tasted like liquid smoke was added to enhance flavor. Beans and potato salad had good flavor. Keep up the good work Tyler.

Some of the best BBQ I’ve eaten, this far west! Really neat vibe. I’d love to come to see a band play to see what the night life is like. We went for the novelty, but really enjoyed the meal. I’ll go back again, whenever I pass that way again!

Portions are very small and overpriced for what you get. I had the brisquit & sausage combo. When it was served I thought it was the kids meal. There are other barbeque restaurants that have better sized portions and better prices for what you get.

Food is really good. Pretty authentic food. Upscale place. Music is not that good at times, but great place to go an talk. Waiters do not seem that nice and friendly, but maybe that's how it goes with upscale places.

I was originally going to come here and post about terrible service my family and I initially received. However, I decided to call the restaurant and give them a chance to address the issue (most people do not give businesses this opportunity) and I was extremely surprised and satisfied with their response. Their GM, Kevin Maguire was amazing with his professional and thoughtful response. He quickly addressed the issue and looked for a solution to retain customer satisfaction. This restaurant absolutely goes out of their way to please their customers . I highly recommend their brisket, turkey, sausage and bread. My family and I look forward to eating there more often.
