Great authentic Thai food. I love Thai fried rice. It has a unique flavor so much different than Chinese, Korean or Japanese fried rice. It’s hard to find that authentic flavor but I’m so happy I found it here. All of the appetizers are amazing as well. Very comfortable setting too. Jazz music does throw me off and makes me feel like I should be at an Italian restaurant. Parking lot sucks too. All that aside, I think it’s it’s worth it coming to Tara Thai.

This place is very authentic Thai Food! I have had Thai food in many of the big cities and this little spot in El Paso is right up there with the best of the best! I had the Thai Street Chicken with Medium Spice and it was INCREDIBLE. It had me sweating, but I like spicy food. The price was a bit high for dinner plates, but definitely worth it. The restaurant was clean and service was great. Overall, I would definitely recommend if you are in the mood for good Thai food!

The food was good but the portions where a little small. Especially the seafood ones. We waited an hour for our food but with such limited staff I understand waitress handled her job by herself but you could tell they need another person at least for diners. Flavor where great. But again a little expensive for the portion sizes and the price being asked. But hey that's inflation for you.

Highly recommend! Everything we ordered was delicious. The cook serves love in it 'nuff said The food cook time ⏲️ is slow but my guess is because they take time to make it right ✅ (with pride) Listen if you're impatient then this is not a fit for you.

Bad experience. Lunch took about 25mins to be served after we ordered. Small portion. Had the Cashew Nut Chicken. Food was tasty but not much of it. Asked for some more rice since only came with about a tablespoon full. Gave up after 10 more minutes of waiting. Asked to pay wanted to charge me for the extra rice that had never come. Removed that from receipt. I got bill and then when paid they added a credit card fee. No where was that mentioned beforehand. Would never go back. I love Thai food and have been to many all across the country. This one sucks!

I iwent to Tara last night for the first time. I will never go again. This whole in the wall restaurant is very expensive for the low quality of food that I was served. I odered wings as an appatizer to start. The waitress said that even though the menu said ranch is included with the wings. I would not get ranch and I did not need ranch. This was a bad sign of things to come. The apperance of the place is dirty and worn down and has only 5 parking slots. An Asian family that showed up 30 minutes after we did got their meals before we did. The main curry coconut chicken sauce plate was very hot as in spicy. The taste did not merrit the price at all. Just lame cooking. The waitress asked me the level of hot and I said light. The plate was missing ingridients from the menu like the bamboo and small corn vergetables. When I complained at how hot the food was to the waitress, she said, didnt you said it was good. Bottom line, this place is over priced, gheto looking restaurant with lame tasting looking dishes that are not worth $15.00 plus for any of them. I will never go again and Thai food lovers beware of this place.

I like the food from this place, the fact that it’s so distinct from any Asian flavors in El Paso encouraged me to continue visiting. My daughter and I ordered the cashew nut entree. It was aromatic and flavorful. The cashews were a bit scarce, but the few I got were crunchy and complimented the dish very well. On another note, the veggies were perfectly cooked and so was the tofu. However, the reason I am giving a three star review is because, I was charged to do some substitutes on my meal, for example the dish is originally served with chicken but I ordered tofu instead, my daughter requested noodles instead of rice and I was charged about $2 to pay with a card plus tip. I don’t mind paying for what I order, the issue is that it took me by surprise when I got the bill. The waitress didn’t even tell me that I’d be charged to substitute ingredients. In summary, with 15% tip and all the other charges I ended paying $57 for a lunch for two. The ambience is okay but the place is not that clean. I feel that for what I paid I could have gone to a higher end restaurant instead and have a better experience.

Great food! It was so delicious and it's such a nice place to eat very clean and the employees there are very nice, sweet and attentive. I love it. It was my first time there, and now it's become a favorite of mine. The peppers steak was to die for. 😋 😋

Got chicken drunken noodles to go and it was incredibly disappointing. The dish was not flavorful enough and it did not have the right vegetables that would normally go with this Thai dish. I also think $14 for this meal was kinda pricey for a Thai restaurant in that neighborhood.

This establishment is overpriced. They even charge twice the price if you ask for no ice in the Thai Tea. Allyson treated us poorly when we showed up to pick up our order in our military uniforms and gave her our ID for a military discount. She urged that she must see our faces to compare it to the ID even though we were in uniform.

My search for authentic Pad Thai in El Paso has finally come to an end! The peanut sauce for the spring rolls was delicious as well. Highly recommend!

This place rocks! Ally and Chef work together to please the customer. I've been eating out from here for several months and you can not beat the service, friendliness or atmosphere ( I have yet to eat in - but I am looking forward to it). I for this meal, I asked Ally to request from chef to swap the egg noodle for wide noodle on the Pad Bamee and I've been hooked on the dumplings since I tried them the first time - THEY ROCKED IT!!! If you miss Thai food from the motherland, Tara Thai 'IS' like the motherland. Thanks so much Ally and Chef!

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in EP at this point! The food is amazing and the waitresses are incredibly sweet! Ask them what they recommend and you truly can’t go wrong with whatever you end up ordering !

I really liked the curries; I had the chicken & my hubby had the seafood curry. But was not a fan of the chicken satay starter.

This thai restaurant is a COMPLETE GEM. We were driving around aimlessly for awhile and Tara Thai popped up on google so my ma & I decided to give it a go bc we were ravenous. We the dumplings, cheese wontons, egg rolls, and Tom Khan Gai soup and everything was prepared to order :)) The soup was incredible along with our 3 appetizers and all the sauces. Service was swift and friendly and prices very reasonable. Highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for some killer food in El Paso. A must stop for anyone in the area. Thank you to this restaurant for making my Friday night <3 We will absolutely be returning, thank you.

The server was friendly though its obvious she is overworked and doing everything herself. I really wanted to love this place because Thai cuisine is one of my faves, but the food itself is not very authentic, not very flavorful, and takes forever. My pick-up order took about an hour when I was quoted 35-40 minutes. The portions are tiny. Both noodle dishes barely had any sauce, protein, or vegetables. The beef in our panang was gray, as if it had been boiled; the curry itself was very thin, and tasted watered down. Everything was underwhelming, sadly. I understand that restaurants are totally different after the pandemic. But I don't like to be greeted with silly signs telling me to be patient or that they could refuse service. It's tacky. The fact remains that if you don't have staff, restaurants must think outside of the box and make it work when its failing.

Best Thai food!! Me and my wife used to live in Jersey before moving to Texas and we always missed good Thai food. We were so glad we found this place. The food was delicious, service was exemplary and rh ambience was rejuvenating. They catered to our vegetarian preference which was an added bonus

I ordered a dish and stressed not spicy. When picked up the order it was extremely spicy. It was almost closing time when I got home. I called and manager said they'd replace it. When I showed up to tge restaurant and reminded them, they treated me terribly. Made me wait excessively for my order and didn't replace it. Cook/owner was totally unfriendly as if she looks down on her customers. Made me wait almost 1hr for my food and had to pay first as if I was stealing something from her.

Great things take time. Remember: at this restaurant food is made from scratch. It may take longer to get, but it is worth the wait. I had the chicken salad and my wife had the pineapple curry with chicken. We were both happy and we’ll come back!

Busy restaurant, food is quite good, served very hot. Overpriced from what they offer, food on the menu r all simple thai food, nothing very fancy. Would opt for other thai/viet restaurants in town which offers similar food but a more reasonable price

Food is excellent! Pad Thai and Curry dishes taste amazing. We went on a Saturday Afternoon and it was busy and there was only 1 waitress for the entire restaurant. Service was slow but couldn't blame the waitress, she did a good job considering. Management needs to do a better job at keeping this restaurant staffed!

Authentic Thai food however the restaurant seemed to be understaffed. Be ready to wait long for the food to arrive. Be sure to park in the designated area, use the meter parking if needed since Papa John is serious about towing.

Here’s the good: Pad Thai is delicious. Beautiful. I come here at least every other week. The portion is very generous as well, I always have left overs. Lunch or Dinner. I get Pad Thai with chicken, medium, extra egg, no peanuts, with a side of pepper flakes. Sometimes sriracha if I’m craving it. ALWAYS use the lime/lemon. Other than that: The ginger salad given during lunch isn’t very good and most of the other menu items are overpriced if you don’t go during lunch time IMO. The egg rolls are also a bit stingy. (Vietnamese egg rolls over at Pho Tre Bien are much better)

I got introduced to this place by a friend and I’m so happy I did. This place is amazing! I went to take out an order one of my visits and the waitress was really sweet. Even offered a drink during my wait. Great place to go to if ever in the area!

Love the Pad Thai from here. Hard to find authentic thai food, glad they cook to order and dont serve soggy noodles. Small parking area but pretty good place.

A shabby kind of back alley look to the outside hides a interesting, if not unwelcome marriage between sparce thai decor and olive garden music. A ceiling tile is sagging to the point of catastrophe in the back and nothing seems to work well together. The waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive. However the appetizer and the main course came at the same time. The egg rolls were edible, but you could tell they came in a box. The main course of curry was unpleasant at best. Sweet instead of savory with undercooked, dare I say, Raw vegetables. The menu was also not up to date with the desserts offered. Unfortunately this place is not as good as advertised.

  • 5/5 Kaylah H. 4 years ago on Google
My husband and I decided to come here last minute and I am glad we did! What a great experience we had for our impromptu day date. The outside isn’t super appealing or welcoming but this restaurant makes up for that with the very friendly and attentive staff, delicious food and affordability. We got 2 appetizers which were both delicious. Try the fried tofu and dumplings. I also got the pad Thai which was pretty yummy. My husband got the curry fried rice. And we finished off with fried bananas which where a perfect finish! Wish I would’ve taken pictures but our plates were empty lol This restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere and we will definitely be coming back.

Great Thai food. I had shrimp Pad Thai and Thai tea both tasted great. Caution their mild spicy is considered hot for some people. If you have low spice tolerance ask for no spicy.

Tara Thai is my favorite restaurant. The pork fried rice is amazing and so are the fried spring rolls. I’ve also had their drunken noodles that are just as delicious! I can’t replace this restaurant with any other. Every time I crave something, it’s always Tara Thai. ?

I ordered the ribeye steak; came cut up fajita style in smalls strips, and it was refrigerator cold . I just could not eat it. The waitress came back with my plate, but I told her that I did not want it because it was cold to please take it back. This man came back with the plate and argued with me about the steak and said that he would still charge me. He went around the restaurant asking other customers if their steak was cold. The staff (I believe was the manager)was rude , he did not believe me it was cold and basically told me not to come back, so I won’t be back anymore. I own a restaurant myself I understand how It can be rushed in the kitchen during peak hours , but if any of my staff would behave like him and telling customers “this is not the restaurant for you” he would never work for me.

If you want some really good Pad Thai this place is a must. I absolutely love the chicken Pad Thai with medium spice but you can choose your own protein like tofu or shrimp. Go for there lunch special to save some money. Their thai teas are really good as well and if you love cheese ragoons you must try their cheese wontons that are crispy, pockets of cream cheese with onion deliciousness.

  • 1/5 Danny G. 4 years ago on Google
I only recommend this place if you have money to waste. The food is overpriced and deceiving. It is good but 15 dollars for Pad Thai when you can get pad thai for 10 dollars three or some blocks away just doesn't make sense. I write deceiving because I certainly know the difference between a romaine wrap and a iceberg lettuce wrap. If the menu says romaine lettuce, it really is what i expect. And no, iceberg is not the same thing. If you're going to charge that much, don't skip out on soda that isn't flat and funky. The manager is rude and the dining area is dingy. Singapore cafe is cheaper, friendlier and cleaner.

Best not to go before a UTEP game. Waited 30 minutes for our order and inquired about status but got no response. Inquired again after 45 minutes and server returned to tell us it would be another 10-15 minutes. It was game time, we had to leave without eating. The food is usually good, the service is very slow when UTEP is playing.

First off, very unassuming. Crowed which meant was really good or very bad with service. Well it was slow but everything is cooked to order and simply delicious. No frills , simple, hot and delish. Good portions too. Will be back!

The food at Tara Thai is always my "go-to" when it comes to food in El Paso! I love the decor, the service, the ambiance. But the food...don't get me started...it's SO GOOD! The Pad Thai is hands down one of the tastiest dishes I've tried, yum! It's not too sweet, but not too spicy, and it gives me the feeling of heaven. Definitely would recommend anyone to go to this place, cause it's my favorite.
