A beautiful church. It rarely gets 100% full. The 11 am Sunday service is in English The 9 am service is in Spanish. Enjoy...

Beautiful church. Well organized. Mass starts on time and the 7AM service has respectful worshippers. The problem I have is I cannot understand the priest homily. It's an English mass and English is my first language so it's not a language barrier because I can understand Decan Andy fine. But whoever the priest is he mumbles and speaks as if he is reading a newspaper to himself. There is no emotion as he speaks fast and mumbles his words. First I switched from the noon mass to morning mass because I thought it might just be too noisy. Then I seated closer to the front and still had a difficult time understanding the priest. Finally this morning I asked someone in front of me is it me or is it hard to understand him. The fellow Catholic explained that the priest is difficult to understand because sometimes he mumbles and sometimes he doesn't. The past 6 months I would have to take the bulletin home and read it just to get an idea of what the priest was explaining. I am walking distance from this church but it's important that I can at least hear the message/homily so I will find a different Catholic church for worship.

The three best things I love about this Cathedral are the stained glass windows, the pillars, and the high altar. This makes it efficacious to know you're in a holy place. Only the Novus Ordo Missae is celebrated here but at least it's a Catholic Church so you know the True Presence here. The Holy Tabernacle is kept in a side chapel but at least you know Sanctifying Grace is dispensed here.

My visit to this church was beautiful. A group of fellow college students and I visited while on a mission trip and everyone enjoyed the Spanish mass. Gorgeous architecture that I couldn't help but photograph. Great experience!

It lacks something.... there just isn't respect for Holy Communion, it lacks reverence. Although the building itself is pretty, the lack of reverence to Our Lord in the Eucharist is fully noted. How can a church or parish (that does not respect or honor the Lord) be true to the Gospel of Jesus? I don't think it can. This is perhaps why the numbers here are dwindling.

The sanctuary is beautiful. My wife & I went to the early English Mass on 6/6/21. We both had a problem where we could only understand about 20 percent of what was being said because of the bad acoustics. We have the same problem at the Corpus Christi sanctuary. It seems like these churches were built for strong speakers & not for electronic sound systems.

This church has SO much amazing history to it, and the parishioners couldn’t be more welcoming. The ornate decor inside the church as well as on the exterior is a treat for the eyes and I could study it all day. I’m sorry that I didn’t catch the priests name, but he had an excellent homily and really left me with food for my soul. I will most definitely be back to St Patricks next time I find myself in El Paso. God bless!

Eveyone is very nice. Rosa Thorpe is an amazing person she runs the classes for communion and confirmation. Father Trini I'd rather not comment ( -1 star) over all great place to worship.

The beauty and tradition in this parish is what make it my family’s parish and would like to point Rosa Thorpe as she has helped both my children and myself through religious formation

This beautiful cathedral was built in 1914 and opened in 1917. San Pedro de Jesus Maldonado was ordained in this cathedral on January 25, 1918. He was martyred on February 11, 1937. A relic of San Pedro de Jesus Maldonado can be found at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in a wooden urn donated by the Archdiocese of Chihuahua; Donated on January 25, 2018, on the 100th anniversary of his priestly Ordination.

My aunt became ill suddenly and I called for last rights. The lady who answered was so kind and a priest went over almost right away. It was so important to my aunt and it means the world to know you have so many people on your side. The love shown in moments like these are all you need to know about this church.

I have been watching the Sunday masses since the COVID shutdowns and love them. The Bishop says the Mass with such reverence and beautiful homilies. I am really impressed with the way Father Precort reads the homilies so meaningfully. I absolutely love when he presides, in English, at St. Charles Seminary during the week. He also says the Mass so beautifully and his homilies are outstanding, always touching my heart!

Excellent substitute priest. For 11:30 Mass on 01/12/20.. Do not like the original priest Trini speaks to much Spanish and his homilies are always about him. Pray we get a new preist.?

Beautiful cathedral and fantastic history. They don't have many churches of this historic look and wow appeal. Stain glass windows that aren't made like these. A must visit place!

  • 5/5 Pat A. 3 years ago on Google
My favorite church but stopped going cause, when there is no service a lot of people from the street would be lurking around, and staff nowhere to be found, found it unsafe

As the Cathedral for the Catholic Diocese of El Paso this building is very special. Saint Pedro Maldonado was commissioned in the Cathedral before the Cristero Wars of Mexico and he life is honored within. There are many beautiful ministries and a large ACTS community. The Cathedral recently added the Knights of Columbus as well. There are many ways to involve oneself in the life and community of church. The building itself is massive and there are beautiful details throughout the building. This is a beautiful place to worship or just to visit for architectural reasons.

The talent of those who participated in its construction is notorious. It is a total show. Despite all the people who are in the place, you can lose yourself in its magic. I love this church, it has nice windows but lacks lighting during cloudy days or winter. At work and on other context I am surrounded by atheists and pagans quite often so I like to go to this church from time to time to reinforce my armor against paganism. The only real flaw of this place is that during mass is often visited by wealthy people who even inside the house of god won’t hesitate in looking at you as second class citizen if your appearance doesn’t resemble economic wealth. During Christmas they have nice events. Overall a nice and quiet place where to meditate.
