This museum is Free! Very well maintained exhibits and interesting topics. I expected more details about the El Paso city’s history and development. The topics on the wars and civil rights are all impressive. Worth the trip and time to tour through.

Beautiful museum, nice exhibits and a cool reprieve from the heat. We really learned a lot about El Paso and it's tumultuous history and legacy. From indigenous peoples, all of the territorial battles, influential people, and some of today's culture. Bring cash to make a nice donation.

Had an amazing time looking at the Low&Slow exhibit, the train exhibit, and the neighborhoods of el paso exhibit! very impressive use of the huge space using murals to tie in the works at the train section, there was not a lot to the exhibit. The Low&Slow exhibit was AMAZING. first time here and really stoked on the selection of exhibits. going to have to keep my eyes open for openings!

Nice walk to the Art Museum and alligator plaza park. I believe Holocaust Museum is within walking distance and probably one or two more. Electric bikes and scooters to be had. Museum child friendly and the alligators at the plaza love children. Whoops. Freudian slip. The children love alligators.

Very cool exhibits. I took my dad since he came to visit and he loves history. His favorite part was the El Paso del Norte section. Wish they had more cars in the Lowrider culture exhibit. Overall very cool stuff and interesting information.

Didn't have a lot of time so I'll be back next year to really take my time here. I'm hoping people will stop by and enjoy the Lucha Libre exhibit, sooo cool and interesting.

Free museum - we spent about 90 minutes which was perfect for us. Great place to escape the heat.

Very nice and *free* history museum. A three dollar donation is requested and is well worth it. There's a very good history of the El Paso area from ancient times to today. An excellent exhibit of Chicanos in El Paso brings to light their plight. In the rotating space there is a display of photos taken at sunrise and sunset from the area. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

The museum is nice, clean and has many interesting things. The only bad thing is that the day I visited almost all the 2nd floor was closed as they are preparing a new exhibit areas.

Great museum to visit in El Paso. It's a small museum so you don't need all day to visit, but the galleries are very nice.

Confusing smorgishboard of a random assortment of El Paso and seemingly non El Paso things. Some good information on the first level with a video and timeline.

It's a good place for an overview. I wish there had been more. I particularly enjoyed seeing the pre-Columbian artifacts.

Beautiful content, but temperature inside combined with the intake of visitors currently walking around the exhibits increase the heat and fresh air flow. The humidity level inside is high. There are benches situated in certain areas; however, the instance that someone seats to catch a breath, the guard starts walking around ensuring that security is maintained. Only if they would lower the temperature when lots of visitors are inside.

The museum was disappointingly small with mediocre artifacts. Incomplete history synopsis. Closed exhibit. Hoping for more in depth experience. Would not recommend.

A fun experience that made me feel welcome. They had a sensory room and sensory lighting. It was so fun even my 7 year old had a good time. I wanna go back for more.

The space is quite nice but the exhibits are a bit limited and lackluster when compared to other nearby museums in the area. The upstairs gallery on modern interpretation of the Mayan left quite a lot to the imagination and wasn't my thing. I appreciate that this is a free offering but grateful that was the case if I had paid I would have left more disappointed.

The outside interactive history screen is really fun for my little one. Once you go inside they have installations they switch out so there is usually always something new to see. I recommend it if you're downtown and want to walk and spend an hour or so looking at the history of El Paso.

The title says it all. Where would we be if not for the history that has brought us to where we are today.El paso is rich on years and this place has documented it all. A must goo to place if your into learning of EL Paso's 915 chuco town's history.

The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable about each gallery we visited. The students enjoyed the visit. The digital wall is awesome! The history items, papers, and photographs were very well taken care of. Loved the experience!

I liked the museum. It was smaller than I thought but still interesting.

This is a small museum that operates on donations. I enjoyed the contrast between the more ancient history, beginning with the native population with the more recent section dedicated to the Chicano revolution. There are children's activities as well. It is not a very large museum but a great use of an hour or two if you are interested in learning more about the history of El Paso.

This was event of fashion from two different entrepreneurs. The event also detailed clothing from a Juarez designer and from an African American sister and brother duo that showed cultural aspects from Spanish and African American influences. The show was nothing short of amazing. There was music, and fun after the show. The DJ played music that made the night magical. It was a wonderful event.

It was an okay place. Really good to see some local history and how El Paso connects with the rest of the region and US History in general, but it lacks more displays and general display variety. You won't be here for more than 15 minutes. At least it's free though.

  • 3/5 J. Albert N. 5 years ago on Google
The virtual wall was awesome, and the building is wonderful. But right now it seems like they're in between exhibits and just trying to fill space. Was not overly impressed with the curation, as it focused on banking and money rather than the El Paso history that is normally advertised (old west, gunfighter, the missions, Fort Bliss, etc). Still worth a visit though, especially if/when the exhibits change.

Great little museum that has something for the whole family.

  • 5/5 Grace D. 5 years ago on Google
A great free museum! It would be awesome for kids. The digital history wall outside in interactive you could take an hour of your time. But don't worry, there is plenty to see inside. There are lots of cool artifacts that people brought to El paso. The exhibit down stairs changes yearly and is based on an organization selected for their impact on the financial well being of El Paso. Enjoy

It's a small museum that contains a great deal of information on the history of El Paso. There's two floors; where the bottom is direct history of El Paso and upstairs had an exhibit on an empire and then information on the history of baseball in El Paso. The museum is free and there's a donation box for you to donate to your liking.
