Great experience. There was no line to get inside the museum. A lot of history here. Highly recommend this place.

A museum that's closed on weekends, never heard of, I wonder what's the intention behind this weird schedule? Are they encouraging personnel to visit the museum during duty hours? A great leader can make this museum great by changing the operating hours to a normal Museum schedule, For now it looks like the leaders does not value the history of this wonderful base. If it was up to me, I'll have it open daily, and I'll even encourage all the nearby schools to organize special trips to this museum, a great way to encourage enlistment, and to instill pride in the minds of our young and future heroes.

Interesting museum covering a brief history of Fort Bliss and First Armored Division. Museum is a bit dated and worn, but has much to offer to include a kids operation center with uniforms, guns, and props to play with and some other available activities.

Throughly enjoyed the museum. I thought it was going to be a lot smaller, however there was a lot of exhibits inside from a ton of different eras. Very cool and a great was to spend a rainy afternoon. Free admission for anyone is a great bonus as well.

Awesome museum. Space is really large, and has a lot of tanks and other vehicles on display. They also have Russian tanks and UAZ trucks. The soldiers there were very knowledgeable and answered my questions with ease. I plan on coming back here with my kids.

Needs a lot of work for being a museum and post with a rich history. A lot of the pictures look like they came right off a printer from an apple II computer, the theater is just a flat screen TV, and a lot of dead space with no exhibits( why would anyone want to look at an MRE from this decade).Whoever the curator is needs to go back and reevaluate his degree and credentials. Detour around this until someone puts some detailed and interactive exhibits in motion.

Much to see and experience for those interested in 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss history. This museum has room to grow as there is much available space to add new displays...expect to spend an hour here.

My husband drags me into every Tanker museum we ever travel near, and this one was actually very entertaining for me. Had a really cool spot for kids inside, plus old uniforms for dress up (or selfies). Very educational, great for kids.

Limited budget museum, some very nice pieces of armor in the inventory, but not all are on display. Some of the ones on display are not placed well for viewing.

I was surprised how large this museum is once inside. Allow at least 1.5 hours if you plan to read anything along the way. There is a child interaction area with some items to handle and wear for photos. There is a table by the security desk to ground your backpack or large bag. On top of that it is FREE!!!

I’m sure it is a fantastic museum. One that we would have been able to personally experience if it was open outside normal-ish business hours on weekdays only. Please staff the museum to make it available to visitors on the weekends.

Good museum. I'm a bit of a history nerd and always love visiting the base and unit museums wherever the Army stations me. The museum is really open but has a good amount of exhibits. The only thing I would say that keeps it from being great is that it feels like there's still a lot of space to fill up and wish there was something interactive in it. The airborne museum at Bragg has a movie theater with seats that move along with the airborne and special forces missions being shown on screen. The Mighty 8th Air Force Museum near Fort Stewart has a B-17 fuselage you can stand in and operate a .50cal as a side gunner to shoot down attacking aircraft. It would be a great addition if 1AD could get a tank or bradley gunner simulator setup in the museum.

Visiting the museum was an incredible experience. We didn't have to wait in line to get inside and were able to explore the history on display. I highly recommend paying a visit to this museum - it's definitely worth it!

I had the privilege of visiting the Fort Bliss Museum, and I was truly impressed with the experience. The museum is a hidden gem that offers a fascinating journey into the rich history of Fort Bliss and the military. The collection of artifacts and exhibits here is remarkable. From the well-preserved uniforms and weaponry to the detailed accounts of historical events, the museum provides a comprehensive insight into the military heritage of Fort Bliss. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply curious about the area's past, there's something for everyone to appreciate. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, offering guided tours and answering questions with enthusiasm. Their passion for the subject matter is evident, which enhanced the overall experience. The museum's layout is well-organized, making it easy to navigate through the various exhibits. It's a perfect place for both individuals and families, as it educates and entertains in equal measure. If you're in the Fort Bliss area, don't miss the opportunity to visit this museum. It's a great way to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served and learn more about the history of this remarkable military installation. Overall, the Fort Bliss Museum is a must-visit attraction, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in military history or those wanting to gain a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by our armed forces.

Decent sized building with a lot of indoor displays. Unfortunately, it needs a major overhaul as it is WELL worn in areas with a distracting and very cluttered front office right when you walk in. The outdoor displays are basic with the common attractions there. Nothing really stands out and only a few vehicles to see. Not horrible, but I've seen incredibly better representation at other military bases. I recommend whoever is in charge of the museum travel to other base museums and request input from a working group to improve the museum.

Nice museum of military vehicles. Getting in the neighborhood is a bit tricky. You have to register at visitor entrance, which is a big far from the museum.

Majorly disappointed; only did we arrive and find this place to be closed every Saturday in July. Not mentioned on website. Came all the way from Tennessee to visit our soldier, and we were all looking forward to seeing this museum.

Loved this place.... unfortunately it's closed indefinitely probably due to the corvid 19. That's what the sign said the weekend of July 4th.... can't wait until it opens again. Also looks like some construction is going on.

    Unbelievable military museum, a must-visit

  • 3/5 Gary K. 4 years ago on Google
The museum has a lot of history relevant to Fort Bliss, ADA units on base, and 1AD, but it could use some work to help with the flow and narrative. It has the right material, it just needs some work on the layout and displays.

How beautiful it is to be able to contemplate pieces of war history of the Gringos, it is a bit of a struggle to get in because you have to register at a booth outside and no one tells you that, but it is very worth it
