Unimpressed. Pros and cons... Cons: I was just expecting to get a meal and feel satisfied but it's cocktail hour style portions no sides. Hey I'm a big boy who has to run a tab on food in these places. The other thing was it's not family oriented. Don't bring toddlers or picky children there's not much you can order for them. Pros: On the positive note. We found that the ambience was very nice and the drinks are worth returning to visit. Order the hibiscus tea. Next time I will try new drinks and the desserts. Maybe I'll have a better experience.

Had to get some tacos before boarding a flight in the afternoon, so Taconeta was an obvious choice for us. The tacos were amazing, and they had side options that everybody liked. Definitely try the fried green beans. It sounds weird but it’s to die for. Portion sizes were about what I expected for this food concept, everything was flavorful, and they had some great drinks. Only thing I didn’t like was the outside order situation which forces you to order outside on the patio before walking in, potentially waiting in a line in the hot Texas sun.

One of my favorite places to stop and have authentic Mexican tacos. The ambience, music, and food is great. It’s like walking into a eclectic restaurant in Mexico City. I recommend the sopa azteca, elote, and fish/shrimp taco selection.

Came here on a late night taco craving. Love the ambiance of the restaurant and the food was very good. Highly recommend the Baja fish tacos they are some of the best I have had. The mushroom tacos were also delicious and the ceviche was fresh. Will be returning Definitely recommend this place

7$ bucks for a shrimp cocktail that's about 8 oz or less... that's insanely expensive! I'm not joking, look at the pictures, the cocktail and the aguachile are super small, aguachiles are way bigger at Little Shack and they're $8.50 (I'm not related to them, I'm just saying), my wife tried the tacos, I was so mad I didn't even ask her how was them. Plus, I don't get why you have to order after waiting in a long line outside, wouldn't it be easier to have waiters? Right after we left we went to buy all the ingredients to make our own aguachiles at home.

This hidden gem completely stunned me with the authentic Central Mexico flavors and hospitality. Order your food at the walk up window and the staff will bring it to your table. Seating available indoors and out. Thursday lunch crowd filled nearly every table while I was there. You have to try the carrot hot sauce. Great flavor and pop. The Milpa bowl salad with avocado and roasted sweet potato was excellent and generous. I did not need to get that Carnitas taco but I was glad I did because it was fantastic. I really hope I find myself in El Paso again so I can try more from the menu. If I could give it six stars I would. 👍👍👍👍👍👍So I guess six thumbs up will have to do.

Food was good. It wasn’t busy when I went however, by the time I left, there was a line waiting to get inside to place their orders ordering is à la cart. One taco per order so order more than one. the drinks were decent and the bar area could be a little bigger, but it was OK. you place your order and they give you a number to take to your table and then they bring the food out to you Overall the food was good and I’ll visit again if I’m ever in the area.

It was a little difficult to read the boarded menu at the entrance. Some of the words were smeared and tiny. Would prefer to have menu in hand. Perfectly priced food. The service was good, except for having to stand outside to order our lunch. Would not like to stand there in bad weather elements. The staff was very nice and always smiling. Helped create the positive vibes. Chose to sit inside instead of the patio to avoid the passing car fumes The food was very tasty except for the quinua salad a little bland until we added some of their salsa! 😉 I especially liked the fish tacos and sweet potato wedges. My taste buds loved them! Nice bar and good drinks. Not a bad Taco establishment! I will be back next time I come downtown.

Try everything..... nothing has ever disappointed. Yes you wait in line outside to order, yes they bring you your food as it's made, not all at once. These things make it unique, it's neat waiting for the next part of the order....kind of a what's next? I don't knownif this is normal, or just how it happened since we ordered a lot of different items, bit it was cool. Great staff amd service...well minus the one gentleman talking on his phone when he dropped off the mushroom taco.... but easily overlooked. Didn't change how great that taco was. The sweet potatoes were amazing, so unexpected. The char on them makes them amazing, the nut salsa makes them out of this world!

Food taste was bland, and served cold. Felt like it was mass prepared meat that was just warmed up. I'd rather go to L&J for the area. This is somewhere I don't see myself returning to. For people who don't know what good tacos taste like, this is the spot.

I’m going to give these guys 5 stars even though This is the first time here. The way they do things, like ordering at the window, taking a number, sitting wherever you want, outside or in, the food was made promptly tasty and the crew seem to be on the ball. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, so give them a visit, enjoy and please like if this review helped you.

Shrimp, fish, saudero, and chicken tacos. Girlfriend loved the fish tacos. Great flavors all around. My favorite was the shrimp taco. Soft tortillas, crisp cabbage. The batter on the fish and shrimp is light and helps augment the flavor. Bummed they didn't have horchata as we LOVE it here. Next time.

Taconeta is the definition of unique and screams west El Paso. It's atmosphere is eye candy, I've never seen anything like it. The service was amazing, it was quick, but most importantly very friendly. Now... The food. It was different. It's not typical texmex or typical Mexican food you get here in El Paso. It's fresh and most importantly delicious... For a diverse palette. there was few vegetarian options, but vegetarian options nonetheless.

Favorite place for upscale tacos! I had the elote in vaso and sweet potatoes as an appetizer they were both excellent. My favorite is always the sweet potatoes the salsa macha the put is one of my favorites! I also had the sudadero and carnitas taco, what can I say, they never disappoint. Theirs always enough meat in my tacos and the flavor is delicious.

Recommended by a local and this place did not disappoint. Five star food, service and a great vibe. The drinks are spot on. I had the watermelon mezcal margarita and it was fantastic. The tacos and sides were cooked perfectly with amazing sauces that perfectly complimented the food. Highly recommend.

Best fish tacos in El Paso! Amicable staff, pleasant atmosphere, kid-friendly, and great margaritas! They were out of elote, so the staff recommended the green beans; so glad he did. They were amazing! Everybody should try this place. Perfect for family or a nice night out for a date.

I went two times. Each time the line to get in was insane!!! The line moved quickly though and the wait was worth it. The mushroom tacos were great, but the tuna/prickley pear sherbet was to die for! I don't know how they got so much flavor and color into one dessert. The sweet potatoes are crunchy and not really in a good way. If you stick with the tacos and sherbert, you can't go wrong.

Sat down on their large patio in the sunshine, the server and bartender were very very nice, carne asada & chicken tacos, corn and green bean elote were to die for!! Be prepared to get it all over your face.

The front staff wasn't very educated on whether or not they had gluten-free options. I understand that they have corn tortillas but the meat was not gluten free and I had to just take chances. I only had two options but they were good. The line also went all the way around the inside of the outside seating area which was slightly uncomfortable. Once again the food I was able to eat was really good and if you don't mind waiting definitely! Or order ahead so you don't have to wait

You order in a window outside, they give you a number and then you find seating, indoors and outdoors seating available. Food arrives as soon as it is made, it does not arrive all at once. Food is delicious and fresh.

Amazing vegan/vegetarian options! Went here solo on a Sunday to grab a bite. You order at the front, about a 10 min line, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. I got two tacos - marinated and breaded mixed mushroom and a cauliflower pesto pepita - both amazing. They have margaritas and sangrias, but I went w a new Mexican beer. Loved this place and will 100% be back.

We travel full time as taco connoisseurs and these were pretty damn good. It's hard to get 5 stars out of us, but you did it. Perfect spicy level for us and great atmosphere and staff.

First stop in El Paso and we found a little hipster gem. Things to know - their parking lot of super full so street parking is recommended - you can order at the window and seat your self or have full service at the bar - bottles of wine are available for takeout! Pour it up!! - ask about grilled options on some of their fried items; they can accomodate - the price is right! (especially for this cali girl) with the most expensive food item costing you around $9 USD The vibe is casual, cool and the staff is very accommodating. I also love the decor. It's industrial and earthy. And the playlist is great, hence why this place is so cool. We ordered the Grilled Shrimp Baja, the mushroom, the Saudero and Carnitas tacos. The server also recommended the green beans and sweet potatoes as shareable. Everything was really tasty but the aftertaste I'm walking out with is that we had a great experience.

Super cute spot to grab tacos! You order the tacos at a window, and they give you a number. The pacing is a bit off. I got my food at different times. I highly recommend the fish taco and tostada campechana. The carnitas was a bit bland along with the elote. Seating is a bit sparse during busy times.

Staff are awesome. I ordered 5 different tacos: suadero, teófilo, pollo, carnitas, and Baja shrimp. The only great taco I had was the Baja shrimp - which was excellent. The teófilo was a second. The rest were cold and uninspiring. The red salsa was really good.

Good atmosphere. Good prices. Great drink selection. Specially fruit flavored margaritas. Tacos were tasty. However brisket meat was cold and tortillas in all tacos were cold and not soft.

Amazing tacos. Only one taco per order Soo make sure you order enough. Very fresh and delicious!!

Awesome place. The food is great and the drinks don't disappoint. Highly recommend the shrimp taco, but all were delicious. Try the Aztec salad and the elote, both were a wonderful side to the tacos.

First time here- great service and nice vibe and decor- even better food! Vegan and vegetarian options were great. I had the mushroom tacos and Baja fish taco which were soooo delicious! I also had the elote which was amazing! I’ve never been to Mexico, but I’d imagine this is what it’d be like. Will definitely be back!

Friendly staff and really great tacos with generous portions. Tried the suadero and the mushroom tacos. Salsas are tasty and the red chela drink it is also very refreshing, definitely recommend and will be going back for more!

Great new place! The food is fantastic....I usually never order vegan options but the elote, ejotes, and camote are all stellar. My two favorite tacos are the brisket confit and the shrimp taco....very deep flavors. They rotate unique margaritas and their beer mixes are top notch. The place is very trendy, has beautiful design and a great addition to the area. They have a comfortable patio with nice downtown views. Kudos

Delicious food! Brisket taco, mushroom taco and elote were great. Had the pepino margarita which was refreshing on the super hot day!

  • 5/5 Joe D. 3 years ago on Google
Excellent tacos with creative flavors and high-quality ingredients that go above and beyond what you'd find at a typical taco shop. Interior design is a trendy and thoughtful mix of traditional and modern Mexican/ desert themes. In the future, I hope they expand their menu to include other main dishes beyond tacos and add a few craft beers. But overall, this is a great place and a wonderful addition that helps bring new life to central El Paso.
