I've done my research on this park to find out a black couple used to own this park and was driven out due to discrimination. Now, Gavin Newsom has rightfully reinstated the park back to them a couple days ago. Overall, it's beautiful. You can see the beach up ahead. It's small, but it's great for leisure

Beautiful land. Sad to know the Bruce’s lost it due to imminent domain. Happy to know Governor Newsom gave it back. I recommend visiting the area, quiet, clean and great views on the ocean.

Beautiful beach. Terrible parking. Good surfing day and the lot was jam packed. Was there to help The Santa Monica Bay Foundation pull invasive ice plant from the dunes and replant native plants which should help stabilize the dunes and create habitat. Cool beans. Get involved and volunteer at their website.

This is an important beach to visit. The new marker tells the story of injustice and the attempt to right a terrible wrong. I am pleased the sobering truth is documented without trying to dodge the reality of intentional harm. Worthy of stopping to enjoy the ocean view.

A great story on Mon 4.12.21 Good Day L. A. about the attempt by some on the L. A. County Council to return this land to the descendants of the Bruces, who had a resort here from 1912. Then Manhattan Beach claimed eminent domain in 1924.

My boys and i have been coming here since always. The best beach with great vibes all around. No hard rocks to step on while entering the water and very very few seaweed if any. Love the atmosphere here always.

So happy this landmark was returned to the family! The history will live on. Glad I stumbled in today and got a few snaps

Black history is American history, which is human history. Its nice to sit in a spot and enjoy myself as a black man in America. In a place where there are not many minorities in Manhattan Beach, it's nice to be at a spot that historically should have been a safe place. Reading the history of Bruce's Beach made me sad. I recommend this park, read some black history on a bench or blanket, enjoy the view, be present.

Loved this spot. Parking was tough on a Saturday, but the unpretentious and fun vibe was perfect. There’s a few basketball rims (nothing serious - like you can’t run a full court or anything, but you can get some shots up), wonderful views, and a powerful history.

While we LITERALLY arrived here 12 minutes before the beach closed at 8pm, we loved this little slice of heaven! The beach was clean, the crowds were sparse and friendly, and there was plenty of parking in two lots in addition to roadside parking. Parking in the lot was incredibly reasonable... I think it was a whole whopping $0.75 for 15 minutes on the meter, and our big dually truck fit just fine in and out. Some of the roads are a little tight towards the lifeguard station, but people were friendly and paid attention and let us through when it was our turn. The sunset was lovely! We'd definitely come here again!

I Love it here, Especially because this beach was returned to the family of the deceased rightful owners. A historical movement and touching story.

It’s beautiful. I’m so happy the family received ownership of their land. Congratulations to the Descendants of the Bruce family.

I did this while on a long layover and hoped to score my picture in front of the large stone sign on the hill down, which (unfortunately) was not present, but just the same there was an informational spread close to the beach. Now that it has been returned to its original owners, I look forward to coming down when there is some development 👏🏾 Update: they gave the land BACK. I'm seriously disappointed. This was a great opportunity to start a Renaissance...

This place is serenity and tranquility all in one !! The beach is clean and not crowded.( which i loved ) The park is welcoming and there are people walking their fur babies. The rose garden is a nice touch as well. If you want to know about the history of Bruce's Beach , just walk down to the walkway and there is a plaque that has all of the backstory. I was there on a Wednesday so there may be more people on the weekend. Either way, this is a great history lesson and a beautiful place to soak up the beautiful California sun.

Beautiful scenic park off Highland Ave with awesome views of the beach. Restrooms are at the lifeguard center below. A parking lot with meters are available, expensive but convenient.

Great small park to sit, relax and take in a beautiful sunset. You can also shoot some hoops although there is only one court.

I used to surf on that street when I was a kid. Most people wouldn't know the history if they didn't get out of the car to read the dedication.Only the neighbors know.

Very nice sunset this is my fav beach. So let me tell you , because I spend a lot of time to go to more different places, I often go to different beaches, but this beach is the best for me to sunburn , I come here about 3 times a month because the parking is very close and very cheap, and the restaurants are very close to the coast.

Very nice place to vist. Took my son to view this historical monument. People were put on blankets, jogging and exercising up and down the hill. And at the bottom of the hill there is a parking lot with meters. Parking is very very tight in the area. Very nice view and a great space to catch some fresh air.

I learned of Bruce's Beach last year during the court case. And knew my next visit I had to see history for myself. This place is beautiful.

Beautiful park with amazing ocean views. Built on a slope, so plenty of hills in the park. There's also two basketball hoops if you want to play a game!

Beautiful view! But parking is difficult, to say the least. And it's hills on hills on hills. Difficult for anyone who is over 10 years old or "healthy". Even the flat spots are still a little sloped. Bathrooms are pretty far and then you have to climb back a couple hills to get back to the picnic areas. But it's very pretty!

Nice small park with a spectacular view. It's very hilly so don't expect a large flat area. More like narrow flat areas divided by steep inclines. Like all areas of Manhattan beach parking can be a pain but is also a short walk to the beach. There is street parking but also paid parking for up to 5 hours.

Beautiful view over the blue Pacific Ocean. Cool breezes and plenty of green space to set up and chill out. Only downside was parking. Took a while to find a space given the beach lots were closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
