Absolutely my favorite deep dish pizza. They're really not stingy about putting in quality ingredients into their pie. The result is a deep dish that has very good balance between sweet, salty, tart and umami. The aroma is also surprisingly refreshing. The mozzarella was generous and it's satisfyingly stringy when you pick up a piece. The crust is a proper pie crust, a very good snack on it's own. The regular pizza is also pretty good, seriously a proper and succulent pizza still adorned with quality ingredients. The tomato sauce is very good with precise amount of garlic infused. Ambiance is ok-ish but the service is great and very attentive while not judging the eaters like us who confused on how to properly eat a deep dish. Kudos. Price is quite affordable. I seriously don't know why I didn't eat more of Zachary's when I was a student of the nearby college. Now that I live a million miles away I can only replay how good it tastes in my head.

Zachary's favorite chicken special staffed pizza, small size was somewhat delicious. I ordered it to go and waited at least 30 min the order to be ready to pick up. After tasting it, I was not overly impressed. It is better than average, nevertheless. However, when i looked at the price, it looks like it is too high. Unless i dine inside the restaurant, the price would probably be just right, because i would get an additional benefit which is the experience to be in a nicely decorated area with many people enjoying their meal. I would just recommend to try it just one time so that you can see the difference between this stuffed pizza and a regular thin pizza we all like to eat.

I was born and raised in Chicago, and I'm a pizza aficionado. This place is the most authentic Chicago pan pizza I've had in California. Thanks for bringing me home..

I drove 75 miles each way for a pizza. $42 in gas and $7 for toll for a medium sausage and pepperoni pizza and Cesar salad. I wish the Cesar salad dressing was marketed. Was the drive worth it? Absolutely.

I love the service at this location. The staff was friendly and patient with my husband who was a first timer. The pizza was hot and delicious. You know the ingredients are fresh from the smell and taste. They are a little PRICEY. But it's definitely a treat.

I mean everytime I'm in town this is one of my go to spots. The pizza is amazing, and the portions are great. I usually do not need utensils to eat pizza, but this one here might require a little help. You will not be disappointed.

Last time I been here was 18 years ago. Came back and it’s still great taste. One of the best pizza places I have ever been too. Soooooo Good.

Not only is the food amazing, deep dish pizza Chicago style, but this location is important for its inclusion and positivity atmosphere. You can tell by walking in the doors how much pride goes into the shop. The service is amazing anyway of the week, and staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and options. Have never been let down and is always my last stop while visiting California, yes I gladly make the 4+ hour drive. Cannot recommend enough and is a must stop in my opinion.

Haven't been to this Zachary's since I moved temporarily out of the area. I had guest and they wanted to have pizza so we drove up to this one in Berkeley. Everything was the same except for the wait staff. They were all new faces so the turnover must be great from semester to semester. The house special and the healthy chicken & spinach pies 🥧 😋 👌 were great. We paired it with a salad and meatballs. It was an enjoyable experience to relive the old college days. There were 3 of us and we ordered 2 medium pies. We had plenty of leftover slices to take home.

Great deep dish pizza! I love the spinach mushroom but for those that eat chicken the deep dish chicken special with pesto inside is the jam! Wish they made a vegetarian & or vegan version!

If you're looking for a quality pie, this is it! This place even carries anchovies, which are scarce these days. Great quality dough, and fresh toppings...everything a pizza lover could want :-)

Great Chicago style pizzas. However, they're thin crust is also good. We had the Pizza Bianca, which was great.

This is some of the best deep dish pizza you’ll get in the East Bay. We get the spinach and mushroom almost every single time, one pie will feed four adults.

Layered with flavor. Recommend a minimal pizza to get the simple flavors that make a pizza a pizza. Sauce was fantastic. Crust was flaky and buttery. Caesar salad was crisp and perfectly dressed. Come with an appetite and order the large for a late night snack.
