We stayed here for a week-long all-inclusive in April 2022. We are so happy with our choice as it was a perfect stay. Our room was large, featured a balcony and a sitting area and the bed was big and comfortable. The service was outstanding, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The food at the restaurant next to the pool was excellent; fresh and tasty. The pool bar and regular bar are well stocked and they make a large variety of cocktails on the spot. There's a wade pool, three hot tubs (one tucked away and often overlooked) and the pool is chlorine free. The Lighthouse Restaurant on the main floor overlooks the marina and the boulevard, perfect for people watching. Any request was taken care of by the staff and they were very careful with dietary restrictions. I would highly recommend this hotel and I would certainly come back here.

Tesoro was super clean and in a very convenient location because it’s in the middle of the marina so any activity you want to do such as take a water taxi to the arch, parasailing, or whatever, it’s right there! Two beaches 10 minutes away, food everywhere, and the views are amazing. You can definitely hear the music on the weekends but we were usually tired out after swimming on the beach so it didn’t bother us. The morning breakfast was good but usually a bit cold, and it was definitely whitewashed, don’t expect authentic Mexican food. The spa was so relaxing. The massage was incredible, I wish we had gone more than once. My only complaint is there is no price difference between cocktails and mock tails but whatever. Definitely don’t let the hotel scam you into the extra activities, you can set them up yourself and save money.

Being central to everything is a good location. It is on the Marina, so there is no beach. But the boardwalk is great with many shops and restaurants and easy access to various activities. The room was clean. The staff is very pleasant and works hard. It is an older property and is not kept very well. The sink and shower don't drain, and the AC is loud and doesn't work very well. It rained for a couple of days during our stay. No one can control the weather––but good hotels are better prepared for it. This hotel was NOT. Too many water leaks, wet towels on the floor, very difficult to walk around and to make things worst, there was no TV for three days. Some other reviews talk about breakfast. At best, it can be described as average, with minimal options. Understandably, it couldn't be served by the pool due to the weather, but the quality and options were also reduced significantly.

We have stayed here the past four years and it is a great stay. This year we called them directly and booked a master suite. A spacious room with a huge outdoor balcony w and w/o shade. When we arrived it was a circus. We ended up switching rooms 2 times because they put us in the wrong room. We ended up in a smaller room with a small deck. They said that what we booked is for owners only. They would not refund any of our money but did offer a $80 resort credit. Just a warning to make sure you get the room you booked before you pay!!

Absolutely loved the location! Right at the marina so you'll have plenty to do and see. Very lively atmosphere and the room was clean and fairly roomy. The rooftop pool was nice and had great views. The restaurant on the rooftop was excellent. Their breakfast buffet was amazing! They served birria on the weekend. Definitely a place I'd go back.

The hotel is beautiful and close to everything. We reserve a room with marina view and was great, perfect to look the sunrise, clean and modern, all the staff that we meet was very friendly, breakfast is included and is good, parking is free but you have to get a "ticket" every time you park and show it when you leaving with you parking pass so they don't charge it, I think they share parking with other busines. The only reason I don't give them better starts is because if you want to get any tour with them they will give you a great price but they almost make you to go to a class where they are going to try to sell you a timeshare or something similar, they don't make you buy it but you can lose a few hours of your day. But other than that is a great hotel

Do not recommend! 50/50 about the staff treatment, I was able to meet some great people that work there but the front desk was terrible. I had extra changes where was supposed to be included. They agreed that it was their mistake but I had to pay for it anyways $$$ A/C don’t work properly, they lock it and you don’t have control. Food taste was low and not much options, I ended up eating in different restaurants. Mold all around the washroom I can keep going but I’m so tired of this place. At least the city is beautiful and you can have a good view of it.

It was a terrible experience for me staying at this hotel. I have been in may all-inclusive, but considering the amount of money they charge, it was a terrible experience. Staff’s English was terrible, they couldn’t understand what I need. The safe locker in the room was not working. Some items in the “all-inclusive” menu are labeled that they’re charging additional money and are not included. Water pressure was too low that I took 40 minutes for me to take shower. The internet disconnects every 5 minutes and you have to enter password every time, it also doesn’t cover 100% of the hotel area, for example in the restaurant, you don’t have any access. I had hyperthermia attack and asked guest service to bring me some “sugar” and “salt” and after 30 minutes guest service said I couldn’t find anybody, just come downstairs and take it yourself and hung up! If you see any pretending-to-be-nice replies, don’t fool yourself, it is a nice try for pretended to be caring. I have reviewed many places( I am level-6 at the moment) and wanted to loudly and clearly share my experiences with you. At the end I had to change my hotel!

Not worth your time or money. Don’t get me wrong, Hotel Tesoro is okay, but that’s it. It’s barely good, definitely not great. Despite the central location at the marina, decent breakfast buffet and helpful staff, the hotel just falls short of providing guests a top experience for what they’re charging. The facilities are dated - not run down, just old and unstylish. Also knocking down a few stars because of terrible WiFi (they’ll charge you for a “better” one but it did not work). Moreover, I was shocked to overhear that there were some guests checking in who turned positive for Covid and the staff didn’t seem to do anything to check them in separately. You could also hear tons of people coughing at the restaurant during breakfast. And the lineups for the buffet on weekends are insane because they allow the general public to dine in there as well. Finally, for those who care, extremely LOUD music Thursdays-Sundays coming in from the marina restaurants and the clubs across the street. This may seem trivial but if you’re looking for a place to rest, this is not it (hard rock music played 6pm-2am) Would I stay here again? Definitely not.

Worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel and I’ve been to every continent. Been coming here years and never had an issue till today. They tried to force us to a timeshare day one when we paid for the best room they had. Then when we were headed out for our late flight, and security stole our bags as we were getting into the uber and put hands on us to force us to the lobby because sometimes people “steal” and don’t pay. We paid for our trip up front and have never had issues checking out - ever. To add icing to this bad cake, we bought drinks the entire time and no alcohol in any drinks. Tesoro has fallen on bad times and is no longer recommended. No apologies for “arresting” us. Daniel Garcia and Jose Alonzo are not security guards but thugs.

Our vacation here was ok. It was very reasonablely priced for an all inclusive resort, best price in the Cabo San Lucas Marina, (that I found). I love to be able to explore the area and still have the luxury and convenience of an all-inclusive resort. There was construction going on during our stay very late and through the morning, they would not reimburse us for the inconvenience of the noise, and it was LOUD 📢 at 1am, 4am and 7am in the morning. One other Downer, is the staff is extremely strict and rude about EVERYTHING. We are a small group of women at a "mature" age and are very relaxed, we're not 20'somethings, who need to be reprimanded. We were paying good money for a lavish experience and didn't expect to be treated like we were children. *For example I was leaving the dining area (which is outdoors by the pool) to go back to my room and someone stopped me to scold me for not having shoes on. Again it was fairly priced and we did make the most of it, I will probably stay here again.

It's a nice hotel, slightly older. The pool is cool but way too small for the size of the hotel. Not too many things to do if you're stuck and can't go outside (which happened to us, could not go out because of the rain). Breakfast was good. The AC in the rooms does not work! I wouldn't go again.

This place is ideal for first time travelers to cabo. I went on a solo trip November of 2022 and I had a blast! The concierge were so nice and very helpful with all my weeks excursions. This place is in the middle of everything and it is so safe! I absolutely loved the Tesoro resort! I stayed for a week. All inclusive food was amazing and the customer service was on point! The house keeping was so thoughtful and left my room spotless everyday. I have no complaints. I'm definitely going back to take my girls trip there. Love love this resort!

Hotel Tesoro is a somewhat affordable option and the location near the marina is great. The hotel is huge but the colors and design matches Mexiko. Check in and check out was quick, nobody tried to sell timeshare scams or something like that. We booked the cheapest room but it was still nice and renovated. The hotel is noisy until 1am. Breakfast is buffet style with a few variations or a la card. Waiters expect a tip for the buffet, even if you do not drink coffee. It is possible to reach the hotel via public bus from San Jose del Cabo by driving to the final destination near Walmart. The bus costs 90 pesos per person and without traffic it takes around 1 hour and 10 minutes. A taxi is about 80 dollars.

Stopped here for breakfast after getting off the ship. Nice, quiet, clean and fast service, off the main walkway. Food was good and fresh. I had the avocado toast with an fried egg and my wife had a delicious omelet. Pricing was about the same as other places we looked at along the walk from the ship, but much quieter and civilized :-)

BEST location in town. If you MUST be on a beach this is not for you. We actually walk to MĂ©dano beach from here and take a taxi, water taxi, or walk back, depending on our mood. We walk to all our aquatic excursions and pretty much to all shopping and restaurants. EVERYTHING is nearby. I hate staying anywhere else (and I have).

This resort is conveniently located, but I will NEVER stay at this property again. Dated rooms, horrible baffet. When you check in & out, make sure you take photos of all scratches & dings in the room which they have plenty of. They charged me after I checked out for some damage to a night stand I never caused. So they try to fix their broken furniture at your expense. Clever. So avoid this resort.

I liked the location, but I had to walk 20 minutes to the Office beach where I was able to swim in the water. A few days I took a taxi water for 10$, one way. The room was cleaned daily and the air conditioning was working, but I was a little disappointed at the breakfast, when the waiters expected a tip, while I thought the breakfast was included in price. The pool is too small for the hotel's guests and the water was hot, in august. I enjoyed the room with the balcony!

We stayed 5 nights. Check in and out were fine, a little longer than it has to be. The Marina rooms were good. We had balconies with a table and 2 chairs. Rooms were large with couches. Beds were on the firmer side. Housekeeping came daily. Showers did drain the best or have the best water pressure. The inclusive breakfast was good, great service and options. Decent pool and chairs.

Absolutely enjoyed our 5-night stay at Hotel Tesoro in Cabo for our New Year celebration! The staff was fantastic, the location couldn't be better, and our room with a patio was perfect. The all-inclusive deal made it even more worthwhile. Highly recommend this hotel!

I came here May 2023. I came here for our anniversary that turned into our engagement trip! This place will always be special to us. Anyways, I did lots of research about this Hotel before I booked. I'm happy I did. I loved the location it was on the Marina you have lots of options when it comes to restaurants, bars & local shops! I liked that we were away from the big resorts we like more of the local experience. We knew the area from a previous trip. We knew we'd have to do some walking depending where we were trying to go but we were ok with that, Shuttles are also available when you need them we called the front desk when we needed a shuttle and they were ready for us. When we booked our trip we used their recommended shuttle company so we had a ride to and from the airport it was one less thing to worry about later and the price was reasonable. Checking in/out was smooth and straight to the point. The "standard room" was pretty great for a couple we had enough space to hang our clothes and really be comfortable. It wasn't anything over the top but also we had no complaints. Our room was facing the city we didn't care to pay for a "water view" because we didn't spend too much time in the room anyways. Our room was always cleaned and taken care of by cleaning crew. Breakfast was always our favorite part of the day! Their breakfast buffet was really everything we could ask for. It was always nice to be able to pick our own seat either in the sun some days or in the shade if it was a hot day. The view was always beautiful! The staff was always on top of picking up dishes from the table and coffee was always filled. The pool was always a great time! One of the best things about this resort was their cabanas & lounge chairs were first come first serve. The staff was always great about getting you drinks & food when you wanted. The poolside experience was one of the reasons we will be back. The vibes were so good and relaxing. No one was being obnoxious or too drunk everyone was there to have a good fun time. I was worried about people being sloppy or inconsiderate but there was none of that behavior. The other guests were truly pleasant to be around. Everything was pretty well maintained. There was a few kids but they were so well behaved, mainly adults. Most evenings we'd end our night with a drink at the fireplace by the pool. One evening we asked an employee to please turn it on he said "no there needs to be more than 2 people" We didn't understand because other employee's turned it on for us. We'd always say thank you before leaving and if we were the only ones we'd let an employee know we were leaving so it could be turned off. It was never past the closing time or at a inconvenient time. One time we tried to enjoy the hot tub during the evening and it was warm but not nearly the right temp. We asked other guests that were in the other one if it was cold they said "yes" so we asked an employee if it could be turned up he touched the water and said "yes, it's cold" but he didn't turn the heat up so that was annoying. Tesoro has security at the elevator so that was something we did appreciate we felt really comfortable. Something to note you can hear the night life from the rooms at least where we were you could, it didn't bother us we fell asleep no problem, the music eventually turns off. Our experience was great overall. I can't wait go to back. I'd recommend this resort if you're looking for something affordable and relaxing.

We only went there during the day from the cruise ship to go to the beach. Beautiful hotel, beautiful beach, and hotel staff was very friendly. The first 30 minutes were spent telling vendors no repeatedly, but after that it was very relaxing. Umbrellas and deck chairs cost $20, had some good quesadillas too. Bathroom was pretty dirty. Overall a very nice experience that we'd definitely do again. Mazatlan is incredibly beautiful and you should visit. We felt very safe there

We had booked Tesoro to be In the middle of the action, and for this the resort can't be beat. A casual yet upbeat offering with walking access to virtually everything Cabo has to offer, you're only steps away from music, food, casino, dancing and not far from the beach. Breakfast buffet was very nice and preps you for a great day. A wonderful resort that serves as a starting point for anything you may wish to do, yet has everything In case you don't want to leave.

We loved this hotel! Exceptional no hassle service, great food and drink quality and prices, beautiful rooftop hotel, and the best buffet breakfast around! The location cannot be beat!

  • 4/5 Ginger H. 1 year ago on Google
Great location on the marina with access to lots of fun places to have the ultimate Cabo experience. Pool area was wonderful with the exception of the music that was blaring with speakers in need of repair. Whoever programs the music needs to consider their audience and vary the genre. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety for all tastes! The woman at the grill was exceptional. Dinner was less than stellar, with overcooked food and watered down martinis. Servers, however, were efficient and pleasant. The room, while clean, had broken bathroom fixtures that were a bit annoying, but palatable, since the cleaning staff were delightful and hard working.

Nice place. Good location. Prompt service. We purchased the breakfast plan, and I'd recommend doing so. Good, it's definitely worth it.

The staff at Hotel Tesoro are absolutely amazing! There were no shortage of staff members and every single one we encountered was willing to go out of their way to make sure we had an amazing time during our stay. Our party of six stayed at the resort in June of 2023 and unfortunately the Vista Roof sky bar/restaurant was closed for renovations. We were also disappointed that all of our rooms had difficulties with the AC working properly which lead to some uncomfortable sleeping. Other than that, everything was great! The pool was heated, drinks were constantly flowing and the food, especially at the Lighthouse, was beyond our expectations. And lastly, if you are looking for a marina location with access to all the local shopping, restaurants, bars and nightlife, there is no better location in all of Cabo. Would certainly stay at this resort again.

Honestly for the price of the room, we can’t complain. Our room was up a set of stairs (with no elevator access) and it was very tiny, but it had all the essentials. The fans/AC were right outside and were very loud throughout the night. That said, the location is hard to beat. We were right next to the harbor and all the fun downtown restaurants and bars. We were also a 10 min walk to the supermarket and mall.

Perfect location for the fishing tournament right on the marina. Great rooms and good food. The staff was great and got us our favorite beer even though they didn't normally stock it! We will be back!

  • 5/5 Bill M. 1 year ago on Google
It looks like all the rooms here have marina views, ours was fantastic. It is located in the middle of everything. Rooms are good and clean, the pool is nice, and complimentary breakfast was always good. So, it comes highly recommended for that much. There was one thing... they had us wear wrist bands, which they said was for the free breakfast. My girlfriend objected because she didn't want a plastic band in her pictures, so she carried it with her rather than wearing it. She was always questioned suspiciously by security when we entered the hotel, despite me wearing the band. Maybe that is the real reason for the wrist bands, because they never asked for it at breakfast.

Location is key! I've stayed at a few resorts along the beach, this was the first time in the Marina. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We loved it! We got to know the pool bartender Jaime who was awesome and Pablo who took care of us while at the pool and many more great employees. We had a couple massage that was amazing. Great customer service! We are already planning our next trip! Thank you Tesoro!

We loved everything about our stay here. We stayed for 6 nights and wished it was longer. The location is absolutely fantastic, you are never too far from where you need to be. The breakfast is amazing and so many different options each day. Would highly recommend this hotel

Great location and classic older resort masonry and art. Clean and well put together. Pool and hot tubs open till 10pm which is nice. A little slow at the front desk. Very good complimentary breakfast. Coffee was good but not great.

We loved our stay! Everything exceeded our expectations. The price, food, location, beautiful view of the marina, large rooms, and extremely friendly and helpful staff. We requested a late checkout and it was granted. I will be back. I would give this hotel 10 out of 10.

I did not have a good experience at this hotel. If you have been to other all inclusive hotels you will notice the difference. They are by no means all inclusive and the service is poor.staff charge extra for some fridge items which is ridiculous if you’ve paid to have everything included ( what all-inclusive means in the dictionary). Do not recommend!

We had a very nice stay here. It was a good central location for walking around Cabo with good parking for our car. We had great views from our balcony and would stay here again if in Cabo. Walking around the marina was facinating with artist along the walk. Cabo is like a border city and not our preference for a true Mexican adventure. San Jose Cabo offered more of that flavor.

Amazing location, decent rooms, best views. This hotel is located right by the marina and close to plenty ful restaurants, shops, bars and night life. The area is generally safe. The interior is a bit worn but at least something is done about it (I saw construction workers and trades men). The rooms are of decent size. The only negative is the breakfast-there are no cold cuts or cheeses and a very limited selection of typical breakfast items. For some reason they display around 8 bowls of fruit and then some selection of hot food/lunch. Would be nice to have some bread or rolls every now Nd then or to have some variety from one day to another. The service however is friendly and accommodating. Note that due to its location it can get a bit loud (from the marina and from the restaurants below). Overall one star less for the breakfast and the level of noise.

Amazing place for a vacation. Super clean, around a lot of things to do(boat tours, deep sea fishing, restaurants). Only "negative" was locals trying to sell you jewelry, hats, bandanas, drugs, boat rides, massages.... This happens right on the marina docks area. Other than that, really clean and beautiful area for sure!!! Pool(adult and kiddy wadding pool) we're really nice! 3 hot tubs on premises are nice too.

I'm giving then 4 stars for location and views but the hotel itself is slipping towards 3 stars. The facility is old and needs an influx of some renovations and updates. We stayed in the penthouse (only 4 of them in the entire hotel) which was a one bedroom one bathroom with a kitchenette open to a small living/dining area. Beautiful large balcony. The furniture was really old and not intact. Bathroom is a good size but the shower 🚿 water 💦 pressure was a trickle. I have lots of hair and this was not great for washing my hair lol. Bed was comfy and sheets were nice. The table in the dining room was water damaged, just not something you'd expect in a nice hotel. Now the VIEWS!!! Omg the best in the marina! Since we were on top and in the center of the marina we had the perfect view of the marina and gorgeous sunrise each day. We also had the perfect view of the city. The balcony is large enough for 4-6 people. It comes with patio chairs. To get to the penthouse you do take the elevator to 5th floor then we had to walk up two flights of stairs (34 of them) i was glad to have the bellboy taken our luggage up lol. Just remember that you have to climb those steep stairs each night coming home. The hotel provides coffee but you have to pay for what you drink. They also give you bottled water, pop and again of you drink it you pay for the product. In the kitchenette they do supply a coffee maker as long as you bring your own filters and coffee. You can make your own coffee (we did). Fridge is the tiny one with not much room as the pop the hotel provides is in there. Good thing is we were not much in our room as there is so much to see , two beautiful ⛱️ beaches within walking distance. Tones of restaurants as you are in what it feels like the the heart of the city. Walking everywhere to everything was very easy. Wifi was not great, we had to call each day to get an updated sign in. And we were here over New Year 2022, and it was loud lol. Party Central! Both on the marina side and the city side. There were bars with music 🎵🎶 so loud between 11pm and 1 am that even after closed doors you could hear them clearly. I would recommend earplugs if you're planning on sleeping before 1 am. Breakfast was included in our room, down on 200 level where there is an outdoor pool and two hot tubs. There is a pool bar as well. We loved our stay and enjoyed our time here.
