One of my favorite places. Definitely stars 🌟 the food is I credible the staff even more. You have access to more locations from here and there's a little store next door so I'd you forget something... like me...they got you!

Beautiful accommodation with a pool almost by the ocean, breakfast included was good. The room was clean, tidy every day. The only thing we were missing was some hand towels and a towel for the bathroom floor everywhere was unnecessarily wet.

Very basic room for the price you pay (no hot water, thin pillows, stained walls) They charged me 80 USD more than booking price fue to ‘taxes’ 😏 Very noisy since early morning hours Nice view in the restaurant and restaurant staff was nice. Amenities outside the room were also nice Overall won’t be back

Nice site overall (pool, restaurant, hammock, chairs, etc) and really liked El Zonte. But room was less nice then other hotels in Salvador for the same price range. Small shared kitchen and fridge (but it would need a clean-up!) Good service at the restaurant One of the owner/responsible was rude with us. Feel like we were always disturbing her :-(

A stay at Esencia Nativa should be part of every El Zonte, or even Salvadorian, experience. Nice, tidy rooms with a great beachy authentic feel. The service is amazing, there is always someone available to help.

If surf is your thing, this is a place you'll like, is really close to the beach. Rooms are very, very basic. No hot water, no tv, no radio and no phone. Excellent air conditioning unit. Great food and drinks. Friendly staff. Grounds and pool well kept. Ocean waves sound help me at night to fall asleep. Some will fall in love with this place and others will hate it. I see myself coming back to Esencia Nativa.

Nice location and lovely staff, the included breakfast was great too! It was however, the most expensive place we stayed in El Salvador so I was disappointed not to have a hot shower considering the price.

👍👍 this place has been around forever. always good food. The owner is one of the friendliest people you can meet and one of the best surfers in the lineup.

I loved staying here! The view was absolutely beautiful and we came to surf so it was about a 2 minute walk to the surf spot which was super convenient. The staff was amazing super helpful and the food was perfect. They have surfboard rentals, yoga, surf lessons, and tours that are easily accessed at this hotel. Breakfast is included which is really nice and i felt like it had such a good vibe compared to the fancier hotels near by. The room is basic no hot water or a tv or anything like that but i honestly didn’t mind. Had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

Stayed here for 9-nights as part of a combined surfing/Spanish trip. Would highly recommend! The town of El Zonte has its own surf breaks across the street from Esencia Nativa, and is 15-20 minutes driving from other fabulous breaks (El Sunzal, Punta Roca). The town is small and full of character - Perfect for the relaxed traveler looking to get off the beaten path. Esencia Nativa is similarly full of character: Hostel-like in its amenities and upbeat vibe, with some hotel-like rooms (ours was #15 - beautiful deck overlooking the river and ocean). It is locally owned, and would highly recommend staying to support its Salvadoreño owner, Alex, over the newer/fancier foreign-owned properties. Alex is a wealth of surf knowledge and it's worth staying here just to pick his brain. Spanish lessons are just down the street (with Say Zonte), if interested!

My second time in El Zonte and first time at Esencia Nativia. I'll be back again for sure. Great people abs in the heart of Bitcoin Beach, it doesn't get any better.

Esencia Nativa is a great place, great service, good food, steps away from where the action yet feels private. The beach is quiet (everything closes at 8PM) not a good place to swim, but great surf. The current of the beach is too strong and nuts.

Calm space, combination of tourist and locals. El desayuno salvadoreño esta esquisto. The ladies cooking made us feel special. And the front desk lady was cool AF.

Lovely hotel/hostel in the perfect location and helpful, friendly staff. You have the option of a private room or staying in the dormitories. Just a few steps to two local breaks - you can check them both easily to decide where to surf. If you want to surf the point break, definitely ask the owner, Alex, to be your guide. He has a wide selection of boards if you need one and provides excellent coaching. They can also arrange tours to volcano, water fall, coffee tours, etc. as well as your Covid test if you need one. Highly recommend and plan to stay there again.

Great spot to eat after a surf. Cold beer and good BBQ plate. If you can, talk to the owner, Alex. He’s a cool dude and great surfer.

Haven't been back in nearly 15 years, but always a lovely, friendly, and laid back time. Great food too in a beautiful part of the country! Was nice to have the great mingling of various international visitors and locals who were always on site.

My husband, my babyboy (4 months at that time) and me stayed in Esencia Nativa for a month and we loved it! It’s a super relaxed place, all the staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Before we arrived in Salvador Alex gave us all information we needed for the trip with our baby (whole new experience 🙈). When we arrived, Alex already built a tripod to hang our baby swing (he just did it, we didn’t ask him to do it). He will help you with everything and always finds quick solutions! Besides that he was super sweet with our baby and entertained our son, so we could have a relaxed dinner, which was amazing 😄 Our babyboy absolutely fell in love with Alex 🥰 the rooms are super clean, as the lovely cleaning ladies offer room service every day. Also the food is amazing, especially the Veggie Pesto Pizza 🙌 we really felt like family, cause everyone (kitchen Staff, Waitresses..) are doing their job with big heart. And Tiko is the man who has everything under control, you can ask him any favour and he will be happy to help you with a smile on his face 😄 Last but not least: Thanks Nette for the fun Surf lessons and for your calm and encouraging way of teaching! If you hesitate to give surfing a go: do it with Nette, you will feel safe and have a lot of fun! We miss the whole team and El Zonte in general and hope to see you all again ♥️♥️♥️ Besitos desde Alemania

We didn't stay in the hotel but came here several times over the course of a week. Both to have food and drinks and to meet up for surf lessons. I can recommend both. The food is good and fairly priced compared to other places. The view is great and the staff is always friendly. If you want to learn to surf, this is the place. Ask for Alex to get you started and set you up with an instructor. I had 3 lessons and feel confident to continue surfing during the rest of my travels 🤙🏼🌊

The perfect place. Swimming pool, yoga sessions, in front of a surf breakfast, amazing banana pancakes, what else do you need?

Amazing surf coaching by Alex and his team! The thing that sets this school apart is they really care about sharing their passion for surfing and are so genuinely kind and hospitable. I learned a few things and had an amazing experience both in and out of the water. Will be back soon!
