Buddy Boy BBQ is a beautiful roadside restaurant with a creative menu but it feels as if the menu is possibly too large and the bbq is suffering because of it. Overall our food was just ok. We had heard mixed reviews so we decided to try a few things to get an idea of what they’re all about. The burnt ends were juicy and seasoned well but the ribs were fairly dry and we found ourselves biting into cartilage on almost every bite. The Mac and cheese was forgettable which was a bummer as we were really looking forward to it. They offer three sauces (Sweet, Tangy or Spicy) and we tried all of them but they were similar enough that if they weren’t labeled we couldn’t tell them apart. Our server was very nice but we only ever saw her once our entire visit so getting water or other drinks was up to us. I will say the restaurant is beautifully designed and is very inviting. And they do a good job with plating their dishes but unfortunately for the price point it just didn’t quite land for us.

I was really excited to give this place a try. Unfortunately, they got my to-go order wrong so that lessened my experience. I get that it’s a packed Friday night but forgetting my cornbread? The food is decent. Probably some of the best BBQ I’ve had in Minnesota. Still, nothing in MN comes close to Texas BBQ. Moving on. The beef rib was the best part of the meal. The beef brisket was tender & moist in some parts and dry in others. It’s good but I wasn’t blown away by it. The ribs were good as is their BBQ sauce. My only complaint with the sauce is you can’t tell the difference between the ghost and regular sauce. I liked their sausage the least. Just not very good. It was a long drive for me to get here so I’m not sure I’ll make the trip knowing what they offer. If I lived closer, I’d definitely stop in. They still owe me a cornbread.

Been a hot minute since I had a thick burger. Boy, am I happy I made a stop here. Cooked perfectly, great smoke taste, and a thin but toasty bun. The mac & cheese was awesome. I’ve had their brisket sandwich and that was top notch as well. Also, I heard Turnpike Troubadours, Zach Bryan, and Whiskey Myers during my dining session so that adds a bonus 6th star.

This place was really nice. The interior was beautiful and had great outdoor seating. The food was fantastic, but the service was just okay. Our server was super friendly but was very overwhelmed, which slowed things down. When we got our food, the food runners didn't ask if we needed anything and ran off so quickly that we didn't even get a chance to ask for silverware. We had to go to the host stand to ask for some. Assuming this was because they were busy. Also, had several food deliveries brought out to our table that were not ours. Hopefully, once they are fully staffed and settled in, things will run smoothly. I'm definitely looking forward to eating there again.

I highly recommend you stop at give this place a try! It is upscale bbq at its best! You will not be disappointed!! The brisket sandwich is amazing. My husband had told everyone at home about his Cubano sandwich and my kids actually ate the leftovers! The atmosphere is lovely.

Atmosphere and service rocks! We ordered a pulled pork sandwich ( amazing!), Walleye ( amazing!) and brisket burnt ends which unfortunately only looked amazing. They turned out to be burnt ends of mostly fat, very little actual brisket meat. Other than that it was a good evening ☺️.

And my buddy Rob went for the loaded Mac. I didn’t try any, but I am guessing that he liked it as there was none left at the end of his battle with the dairy-based behemoth 😤 The site of the plate is about how large his eyes were when the dish was delivered to our table 👀 I almost ordered this one… next time I’ll take a crack at this preposterous plate of pasta 😁 No shame in saving leftovers from this place as they don’t slack on the portions👌 The prices are more than reasonable for what you get. The food is the same and just as delicious but with more options and delicious cocktails. The ambiance is awesome and the service is top notch. I love they're brisket sandwich and have had it several times before they renovated, and it's the same delicious mouth watering BBQ! So happy that they expanded and it turned out great!
